This will be in the last expansion of WoW 1.0, where we will find out that the light and Titans will easily destroy Azeroth (and us with it) to prevent the Dark Titan and the Void of winning. Eventually Nozdormu will have to send us back in time (different timeline) to start over and try to prevent the awakening of Azeroth by the Void --> WoW 2.0: everything reset and a similar but not exactly the same storyline. Azeroth isn't a titan. Azeroth is a being of spirit, the 7th power. The titans dug a hole into Azeroth, infusing order magic to change Azeroth INTO a titan. This is no different than the void lords flinging old gods to turn her into a void-aligned power. Every one of the 6 branches of magic wants to claim Azeroth as their own, some are just more successful than others.

Uncorrupted planets (including uncorrupted by the titans) are full of spirit energy, which creates elementals that feed on the spirit energy and war against each other. The primal dragons are forces of that uncorrupted Azeroth. They are "the good guys" of the story, since they are native to the planet (unlike the players). The dragons, titan watchers, etc who are order-aligned are not "the good guys" because they represent aspects of some dated tropes.

The titans vs Sargeras was because he believed Azeroth must be destroyed for being too corrupted, but then the titans send constellars to destroy Azeroth for being too corrupted.

Yeah, sure, titans are the good guys.

WoW's story is much better when moving past childish concepts of good and evil.

It also aligns with real-world politics in that the titans wiped out the natives, declared themselves the good guys, and now the natives are breaking their bonds and fighting back to reclaim their world from the oppressors.

Except the "villain" stuff you're referring to all had specific, logical tie-backs to preserving her people.

The "burn the tree" stuff was to show the night elves that they can't count on the humans when it matters, and the night elves should break off of the Alliance and make peace with the Horde. This weakens the humans, which strengthens the undead. The plan was to peel back the allies of the humans one-by-one until the humans had to fend for themselves, and the undead could be truly safe.

Now... people were generally not intelligent enough to understand this, so they did have to ret-con a bunch of that story and the Jailer ending didn't make a ton of sense.Comment by godlygamer911WOW lore was at its best when it was written in primary colours and the villain was always on the box art. Kind of feels that way. 10.2 will be the tree and a storyline for the green dragons. We haven't had a red dragon story yet though right? Plus I assume whatever is going on with Tyr is going to wrap up this expansion. Oh right and the Aspects getting their powers back (or not).

Not surprising that should would use illusion magic while she heals.
