How the hell are you supposed to do this when the white ghost elites insta-kill your entire army when they die due to their death AoE on heroic world mode? It's not like you can tell them to go wait further away.

Just got this achievement as a 660ilvl arcane mage, here's my advice:

- Loot the Suramar treasures for the 500 ancient mana cap increase. I'd recommend bringing at least 15 withered to your runs.

- Run the normal mode version of this scenario a couple times to get most/all the upgrades for your withered. (A 400+ score ensures the reward chest will give enough ancient mana to rerun the scenario)

- When running heroic world tier mode: bring as many withered as possible, remember that there's no time limit, so wait for cooldowns between pulls, because your withered WILL die to the added legion monsters and hard mode affixes.

- The arcane shades are the big bosses of this run, so pop everything so you can burst them down before they wipe your army. If you can't beat them yet, increase your ilvl more before rerunning.

- Avoid setting your withered to attack in the big open rooms, because they will literally pull everything.

- you ONLY need to amass 200 score. For context, a full clear of this scenario amounts to 700~ score. this means you can literally focus on clearing the first couple main rooms (do NOT bother with the side rooms & mini bosses in heroic world tier mode. full clearing up to just before the central room of the ruins should net you 200 points, you can then fail the scenario and still get the achievement. I would not advise going any further in the scenario because the stealth boss will likely eliminate your withered army almost immediately.

Fortunately there's ~~no daily/weekly lockout on rerunning the scenario and~~ no further achievements beyond this. Running this a few times on normal first can also net you up to 8 Toys which is a worthwhile bonus.

Edit: Since finishing the Suramar Campaign I can no longer run the scenario multiple times a day. Even after the 15 minute debuff expires. Not sure why it works like this.

If that is the case, this must be the worst way, time / effort wise to get bronze.

You only need to get 200 Score. After you get 200 Score you can force the scenario to end and you'll get the achievement.

The hardest part are the Volatile Wraith mobs which need to be interrupted or CC'd because all their casts are AoE and will immediately kill your Withered no matter how many upgrades they get.

My method:
- Left it as my last activity in p1. (I am done with loremaster, etc)
- I have 740 ilevel and 100% vers, but lower can be doable as well. It's not you being in danger but the very weak withereds. Ilevel speeds up the clear and thus saves precious withered lives.
- I unlocked the 2000 Ancient mana pool and gathered 2000 ancient mana.
- Ran the scenario till I got all the withered army related power ups. This took me 4 days with 2000 mana / 20 starter withered, but with doing mistakes, the last day I only had one 10x withered chest to claim so, yeah. You can use handynotes withered army training addon to see which is which and where they are.
- When I got the powerups, I gathered 2000 ancient mana and started the scenario.
- I avoided every mean mobs that I could - you have to kill 1 arcane elemental tho - and focused on the weaker mobs. I actually made a mistake and opened the vault where you should be dropping down to the tunnels and cleared it, it left me with 5 withered.
- I got my 200 score where the tunnels carve back into the building, before Leystalker Dro. You should be able to finish before Dro easily. And not having to clear the messy places.
I also got the Torn Invitation from the chest. which I already completed on my retail main, not sure if it's intended.

Brute forced this achievement at 740 with 100% Vers with 20 withered. I was supposed to prep for this and get powerups in Normal but I forgot to exit Heroic tier and made the best of it.

It's easy enough to clear the little spiders. I was able to interrupt and stun the exploding ghosts.

I opened the first door that required 10 withered near the beginning and killed the miniboss there. Big mistake, most of my withered died and the boss was only worth 10 points.

I continued clearing and I got 200 points by the time I cleared the ground floor of the staircase area. I went back to Thalyssra and exited.

I got the achievement after looting the big chest after I talked to Thalyssra.

Completed at 740 with around 100% vers. I didn't bother upgrading my withered and used the minimum amount of mana to start the event.

Go slow and play it safe.
Use your AoE abilities to tag mobs and hold agro. They'll one shot your withered if they get agro.
Take the summon demon ability from your artifact weapon and ensure it is up for every Volatile Wrath. Blow up your demon when the Volatile Wraith gets to about 30% HP to instantly kill it.
If any of the mobs are empowered with the ability that does damage when they die, then make sure to CC and kill them within 8 seconds to disable that ability.
Avoid all the side rooms which require you to have previously empowered your withered to enter. Stop before you get to Leystalker Dro as he will likely kill your withered.
After reaching a score of 200, go back to the entrance and talk to Thalysssra to end the scenario. The achievement pops when you open the chest afterwards.

This isn't as hard as people made it out to be... Easily finished it at 680 ilvl and 70% vers on my first run.

REMIX:
Took an army into heroic. Made it to the spider room before the remaining withered died from spider mobs. Had over 200 points, received achievement when the scenario ended. Didn't need to go to the end to get achievement.

Super easy if you do it with ilvl740 and 200+ vers - even the volatile wraiths die quick, you only have to watch for aggro and return when you have a score of 200+

If you're not a healer, speccing Vindicator's Judgement is pretty helpful topping up half dead withered.

Took me three goes as the biggest loss I got was when in the Dryad room.

Going left saw a bunch of my withered go downstairs no matter how careful I was (this happened two runs). They pulled a load of mobs upstairs to me or got out of distance. Third run (successful) I went to the right and did not have that problem. However, after clearing the right side I went around to the left side from the other side of the room so the stairs down went away from the direction I was heading. Still had a bunch of withered pull things from below.

Thinking about how I clear the room there's also the possibility that the npcs left after using Twisting Nether (to take out the arcane elemental) may have pulled mobs below and this got my withered heading down to attack what they did.

All in all, not a big deal but waiting a day to try again is a bigger pain if you've done the campaign.

I didn't play Legion back when it was current and was more lost and confused than my withered army trying to look for my points... hope this helps someone else!

A bit of advice on Leystalker Dro, he mainly 'patrols' (hidden) around the central area where the collapsed ceiling is, most of the time around the corridors surrounding it, and MOST of the time, as per his npc page, around the stairs (usually at the bottom of them) to the left of the door his key opens (to next section).

In this whole scenario even bosses can be at least stunned, use them to your advantage, and I'd including knockbacks and other tools at the your chosen class' disposal. One of the bes combo is a Brewmaster Monk, with the black ox talent, which in itself keeps agros everything around ~30 yards. You can also pick up the Ring of peace talent if you wanna force monsters away from your withered in some circumstances, specially when they pack up near you and even if enemies are hitting the statue, their aoe might hurt them.

IMPORTANT: You don't need to 'finish' the scenario to earn this. Get the 200+ points, and you'll be safe to get it, even if you deplete your army (by zeroing them (with sending in chests and/or killed, by Dro or not). The achievement Pops at the end near Thalyssra when you open the big chest.

This is how I did this achievement today only using the 1800 mana option:
1. There is a 15-minute debuff every time I began on my withered army. I do not know if it mattered but I waited the time until it wore off.
2. I ran the instance at least three times ON NORMAL MODE all the way to the exit where Occuleth can port you out by the cave exit. You want to collect the main chest rewards of damage, health, and speed for your army. You may have to run it more than three times in order to find them all as your scenario ends when your army dies or you die.
3. I would wait to comlete this on HEROIC TIER until I were 740 ilvl and had a considerable amount of infinite power. It will put less damage on your army and will still take some time to finish some of the mobs especially the Volatile Wraiths, which you may want to avoid if you aren't as strong and just focus on getting your 200 points which shows at the top of the screen.
4. They say it is training but I think you don't actually train your withered as much as collect items from chests that improve them. Always use the item asap as it will apply to all future instances, don't wait to use it after you have started already, I don't think it will work. I would finish all the achievements to maximize your score and infinite power. You might as well. I remember doing this in the original Legion release and it took a while as I wasn't trying to finish the storyline which is one way you build up your mana cap, but also just doing the instance you also get some cap bonuses. I don't actually know how to get to 2000 cap, but I think it is just a drop that I may have missed. It will be easier to just do the final heroic tier run when you see on your withered the three buffs, that I had, were increased damage, increased health, and increased speed. There may be other ones because I know that I was not able to open some of the large chests in there. Especially if you are trying to run it on heroic you simply won't have enough army to trade for the ultimate chests. Just run it on normal a few times to open chests and find stray withered even the ones in webs will add to your army meaning giving you more chance to find things. Again I am not positive that your score in normal mode means anything, it is the rewards you collect and use that will benefit your withered in subsequent fight. GOOD LUCK!

Completed today in Remix, 740 ilvl/360 vers, Enhance Shaman

Withered will still get decimated, especially at Leystalker Dro. Biggest help for me was I put on the Vindicator's Judgment artifact ability and used that on bigger fights (especially the wraiths) to keep Withered healed up. Worked great, but slower due to waiting on cd. Finished without too much trouble, score 530 something I think.

Please, don't be dumb like me lol

If you think that when you have enough points (200 or more), you can just right-click your portrait and "leave the group" and that would teleport you to back to Thalyssra and you could loot the chest and get the achievement.

Nope, it will teleport you directly out from the instance without you getting the achievement and rewards.

So, do NOT right-click on your portrait to leave the instance.

I am quite sure I did exactly same mistake back in Legion, when it was current expansion.

I can confirm that you do not need to COMPLETE the scenario entirely, only gain 200 points or more and then you can let the withered die and that will trigger the achievement.

Very trivial as a 779 ilevel 900 verse balance druid. You don't need to run it in normal mode for upgrades or know anything about it if you are high versatility. Just go in and kill stuff you will be fine. This was my final achievement of LEMIX because I didn't know anything about withered training really, but it was totally trivial, nothing to worry about.

31/12/2025 if you try to finish this legion remix achiev : do NOT go into the rooms. blizzard messed up the scaling and the withered will get one shotted by whatever ability the npcs in here do.

Do not go into the rooms and the difficulty of this achievement is not time or points but to retain your army long enough.

In remix things i would like to add
-play withered in passive mode only- i didnt read spells and i always played from passive onto mayhem mode -just leave them in passive mode
-in room that is same as room you start scenario always go right-on left in one of videos i saw that there are some mobs that explode on death so i avoided that part of room
-go slow,pick up withred that you can to refill numbers
if you do all that and you have enough dmg (which you should as it is end of remix) its easy

A very specific scenario to be sure, but better for me to post it here and potentially help someone else - if you change your Artifact Ability to help complete this achievement remember to assign infinite power back into your Limits Unbound trait.

I completely forgot to do this after swapping to use the Twisted Crusade (demon summoning) Artifact Ability, not realising that it zero's out your points applied to Limits Unbound - reducing my versatility to 0%. Safe to say I need to run it again!

I procrastinated till 4 days left, and did it with DH at 999 vers. It was a cake walk. It was a hot knife through butter.
I shouldn't have feared this so much and left this as the final achievement (from completionism.com).

I thought I would flag this décor item in case people don’t know about it.

I’ve run this about 10 times now at max level & still haven’t had Ancient Elven Highback Chair drop. Sigh. What a drag. I will keep trying.
