You have to give 5 to the Image of Commander Ameer at Bash'ir's Landing to get a key for one stasis chamber.

After opening one of those chambers you have to fight a level 70 elite. I only did it once and i failed because i tried to solo it (lvl 70 warlock). It was immune to fear and its shadow bolts hit quite hard so I died at 75%. It could be possible with 3-4 people though.

According to a comment on the item , it doesn't drop every time. In his case he killed 6 bosses and it didn't drop.

As it is a green item I also think that only one group member is able to loot it.

I got the mark on my second attempt, turned it in and got a new key called "Mana-Tombs stasis chamber key" for the follow up quest called "Stasis chamber of the Mana-Tombs".

The quest asks you to go to Heroic Mana-Tombs and use the key to open the (front) chamber, there's another chamber by Nexsus King Shafar but the quest doesnt say how to open it.

According to the quest the objective is to "investigate Mana-Tombs stasis chamber" it doesnt specify which one. I hope this helps

There are to groups of chambers, I went to the group on the western part of the camp (only 1-2 bugs to clear) , of those chambers I opened the middle one on my first attempt and didnt have a mark, on my second attempt I opened the one furthest on the right.

the chambers are at 49,21

all he does is occasional fire-breath, thats about it.
don't even need FR. not worthy of Heroics.

in total, you will need 2 Marks of the nexus king.
one to open the first chamber, then you'll complete the quest.
the guy in the chamber will tell you to go back, and get a new key (for wich you'll need another mark).
you'll receive a Shaffars stasis chamber key, wich you can use to upen up the last stasis chamber for Yor.

that chamber is a bit infront of the last boss, (shaffar himself) i'm pretty sure you can do him without killing shaffar.
you will need a new mark of the nexus-king to summon him after, it's repeatable (as long as you've got the marks for it.)

made 9 badge of justice that run.
4 from the bosses, and 5 from the quest.

The quest to open the first Stasis chamber is extremely easy to solo as a druid or rogue. Just cast Sooth Animal on the nearest Mana Leech and you should be able to open the Chamber without agroing them. If you are a rogue you might have to use one of those items that reduce your agro radius before you attempt to open it.

Does opening the first chamber in mana tobs summon a boss? and can I get another mark of nexus king before going to mana tombs so that I have it ready after opening the first chamber?

Im a bit confused. I (a rogue) went in Mana- Tombs and opened the first chamber, then I went to Blade's edge expecting to be get the quest for Yor like everyone else did. However, Ameer oferred me a quest called" The Eye of Haramad" that I just had to talk to him about to complete it and the reward was a blue key called "the eye of haramad" that unlock's shfar's chambers at anytime according to Ameer.

He did not mention anything about Yor or wanting me to open another chamber. Does the fact Im exalted have anything to do with it?

Terrible drop rate. Tried 4 or 5 times now and still nothing. It seems I will get exalted from mana tombs heroic before I will complete this quest.

Note: You can only activate a sphere once. It's probly on a timer, but I didn't have time to time the spheres.

It should also be noted, as asked by the original poster, that it is indeed a green drop, and much to our dismay (we were two on the same quest), we had to roll for the Mark.
So, pitching your Ethereum Keys together to open the chambers will only help one person, because only one can get the drop.

can anyone confirm if they are fearable? the first guy for this quest was fearable, so i, as a lock, had no problem dealing with him. i also checked all the possible mobs it could summon and noone mentioned if they were fearable/cced or not.

Handing in 5 Ethereum Prison Key to the Image of Commander Ameer does not count towards the Blade's Edge Loremaster Achievement.

I didn't understand why he didn't have a quest for me - after some research I found out you need to be honored with the Consortium and lvl 70 before getting quests form him.

Here's why this quest (and all of the ones following) are a complete waste of time, (at least if you're seeking reputation with the Consortium).

Number one, none of them count towards Loremaster.

Number two, five looted keys will buy only you "one single shot" at opening a prison chamber. "IF" you kill the boss you "MAY" or "MAY NOT" loot the desired item. Most people report making several attempts before finding one, each attempt costing another 5 keys and hours of farming. Your eventual reward, a sad 500 reputation points.

Now compare those sad statistics with these. If you we're to take the same looted keys to the Ethereum Staging Grounds in Netherstorm (each GUARANTEED to open a prison cell) you would be GUARANTEED to receive either a ID card or the rescue of a friendly. Each ID card could then be turned in for 250 rep. and each friendly rescue would be worth 500.

So the guy above who reported six attempts spent 30 keys for 500 reputation points, while my way would net that same guy "a minimum" of 7500 (probably more).

Do the math. Unless someone can give me a reason these quests are valuable they should be skipped.

i needed "only" 50 keys for this. 5 for the first quest and 45 for 9 attemps. but because i was lvl 80 when i was doing this, i was able to grind those keys in 2 hours and i almost hit exalted with consortium while grinding

i found that the best place to farm 5 . is heroic mana tombs. got 6 when i got to 1st boss (while skiping some trash)

Just finished the quest chain and I still have my "Mark of the Nexus-King". Maybe because I picked it up at revered, but hit exalted just as I turned in my 5 keys?

I just LoL'd my way to exalted by sending my pet on the last boss (in mana tombs) then setting him passive, boss stayed agro'd on him for the whole time, I let the sparks shift into assistants and killed them for 25 rep every 10 seconds.

OK here's how you get the mark of the nexus king. Farm for Ethereum Prison Keys (long grind), need 5 to pass in to Image Of Commander Ameer at loc 52 15, and he will give you a Depleted Crystal Focus that you use open a etherum stasis chamber in blades edge (Bash'ir Landing) kill the monster that you free and he drops the Mark of the nexus king. Hope this is more helpful then whats above or below this post.

I have this quest on my log and unfortunately, none of the helps here explain what this quest is all about. I have plenty of addons to tell me where it is, or how to kill him, what are the prerequisites, now that it's patch 4.3. This entire topic at this day seems so outdated, so basically if nothing here is helping you read further.

First, the purpose of this quest is not for Loremaster--I don't believe that it counts toward that, based on what others have said as I already have it. It is a quest chain to open up a certain heroic mode boss in Mana Tombs (Auchindoun) named Yor. He drops what would have been good rings at lvl 70. He also drops some transmogrifiable green set gear. Nothing fantastic but possibly fun to collect.

What you are supposed to do is basically grind your Ethereum Prison Keys. You need 5 keys then you convert them through the questgiver (Ameer--he's the guy on Bash'ir's Landing) to Ethereum Stasis Chamber Key.

Once you have 1 of the Ethereum Stasus Chamber Keys, you get to open up an Ethereum Stasus Chamber. So you're looking at a 5 to one ratio for every Status Chamber Keys you want, you need 5 of those Ethereum Prison Keys which is quite a hassle to begin with. But there's further annoyance--each Ethereum Stasus Chamber may or may not contain a "boss" you need who will drop the Mark of the Nexus-King. In other words, sometimes the Etherium Stasus Chamber contains a friendly NPC who gives you nothing (maybe a buff?) and thanks you for releasing him or her, plus maybe rep (I recall one being a Night Elf and giving me Cenariun Circle rep). So you may get a boss OR you may get a friendly. Who knows what percentage of the time you get a friendly versus a boss.

So, say you are lucky enough to get a boss. These bosses appear to be Ethereum Prisoners. (If you check that link, it says the Marks of the Nexus-King item is actually a 24% drop rate at this point in time.)

One problem is that Wowhead does not have an ID number for the Ethereum Stasus Chambers--just the Prisoners contained inside. So it's impossible to tell for me right now what percentage of what type of mobs that spawn from those chambers once you convert 5>1 keys from Ameer. So it's a RNG in an RNG, whether you get a boss or a friendly, and IF you get a boss, what % of the time the boss drops a Mark of the Nexus King.

You'll feel much better while doing this quest if you think of it as your final grind for Consortium Exalted. It remains prolonged but at least two painful tasks are merged into one. With that 21,000 gap between Revered and Exalted, it's quite convenient.

Basically, go to the West of Manaforge B'naar, and start killing the Zaxxis for keys, rather than the Jailors in Ultrim. They don't drop so often but their spawn rate is a huge improvement on the Etherum Jailors. You'll usually only see one Jailor around Ultrim. The Zaxxis also drop Zaxxis Insignia about 2 in 3 (used for another Repeatable Rep quest in Area 52.)

Here is my experience summarized on how to get this item. I just did it on one of my characters to prepare for Timewalking in patch 6.2.

Before you start you might consider purchasing the required materials that will be required further into the quests. It can help reduce farm and speed up completion. At some point you'd need to turn in 10xEthereum Prison Key, but in addition you'd need one extra to continue the quest chain. So if I were you, buy at least 10 of these from the Auction House. Though this is not required, just saves you perhaps an hour of farm in total (if unlucky like me.)

Anyway start by doing these quests in the following order:
1. Seek Out Ameer (requires Honored)
2. A Mission of Mercy
3. Ethereum Secrets (repeatable, do once)
4. A Thousand Worlds (requires Revered)
5. Stasis Chambers of Bash'ir
6. Purging the Chambers of Bash'ir (repeatable, do once)
7. The Mark of the Nexus-King
8. Stasis Chambers of the Mana-Tombs
9. Nexus-Prince Shaffar's Personal Chamber (repeatable, do once)
10. The Eye of Haramad (requires Exalted)

One tip to greatly increase the speed of the farm is to actually enter Heroic Mana-Tombs because you can farm the last boss indefinitely. He will first spawn Ethereal Beacon and these mobs will spawn Ethereal Apprentice and these give 10 rep in Normal, and 21 rep in Heroic. If you have 4 hours to kill spamming one macro, basically create this:

/tar player
/use Battle Standard of Coordination
I've included the Battle Standard of Coordination to speed up the process. Also helps you not forget to spawn it once it is off cooldown and the old one despawns.

Once Exalted you can go to Image of Commander Ameer and complete the final quest The Eye of Haramad (only requires Exalted, nothing else) for The Eye of Haramad and you can spawn Yor each time you visit the instance - no need to farm keys for one time use consumables.

I have been at this for several hours today...I get my Ethereum Prison Keys and hand them in to Commander Ameer...he gave me one ethereum-stasis-chamber-key...just one...then flew all the way out and opened a chamber but of course my bad guy had nothing for me...and guess what ? the key disappears because it was used so I fly all the way back and give this ameer guy more prison keys but he is never satisfied and never gives me another chamber key so I can not open any more to find the bloody bad guy who has the dang mark ! so now what ? anyone ? I have been searching everywhere for a solution and have come up empty handed so any help would be appreciated.

just abandoned thinking - hey I must have done something wrong and failed the quest - I figured I could just pick it up again and start over - but the guy shows nothing and I can not redo.....sigh

I don't know if I just got lucky or they upped the drop chance, but with my first Stasis Chamber Key, I was able to open a prison, containing Matron Li-sahar, and get the mark needed for the quest.

Just got the Mark of the Nexus-King on first attempt. I opened the Etherium Stasis Chamber at coordinates 49.64, 21.32 there are 3 Chambers next to each other and I clicked the one on the left facing south. The boss that appeared was Matron Li-sahar. I had an additional key, so I waited for the same Chamber to respawn and opened it finding a second boss Trelopades although he didn't drop a Mark of the Nexus-King.

I've had this quest since Battle for Azeroth and still haven't been able to finish it. I originally did it back in Burning Crusade, so I THOUGHT I was prepared for the grind. (Illidan: You THOUGHT you were prepared?) Arguably it's even worse to do this quest NOW because players can quickly clear the entire area of mobs. At least back then mobs took long enough to kill that half of the mobs were always up. If you have the area to yourself, the mobs will respawn just before you get back to them... but if one other person shows up then there's long stretches of nothing to kill. But, chin up, everyone! As long as my bad luck streak grows, you can always tell yourself, "At least I'm not that poor player."

EDIT: MY STREAK IS OVER! I CAN FINALLY FINISH THIS QUEST!

Don't waste time farming keys for this. Just buy the Mark of the Nexus-King from the Auction House and save yourself a lot of time and headache of potential bad RNG.
