The fissure is at the bottom of the lake at coordinates 55.95, 80.56 (updated from comments for Cataclysm)

you gotta go underwater, then go to the bubbling fissure( the clamb like thingy )..thats where you gonna plant the seeds..=p

Every time I try to do this on my rogue, I get a "no charges left" error when I try to use the seeds on the fissure... I dont get it

This is a fairly easy quest; very cut and dry. Just manage to avoid or cut your way through the surrounding Kolkar and Snapjaws and swim down to the middle where you'll find the fissure. Just place the seeds and there you have it.

Also an excellent oppurtunity to quickly knock out the following quests:

The Angry Scytheclaws - The nests are located just slightly West of the oasis, and there are raptors on the way there for the feathers.

Stolen Silver - The Raptor's Grounds, or the location of the chest of silver is also slightly South of the oasis. Particularly close to Northwatch Hold.

Raptor Horns - There are raptors EVERYWHERE which provides an easy completion of this quest. Just look towards the Raptor's Grounds, close to the Stolen Silver quest.

Centaur Bracers - Although the quest giver is quite far away, if you haven't yet complete this quest, I'd suggest killing all the surrounding Kolkar. The drop rate isn't too great however, so you may be there for awhile. >.<

Also, there's a rare spawn that tends to show up on the more Southern region of the oasis near some tents, and there's a keg spawn that you can interact with which will lead up to the quest "Chen's Empty Keg."

The seeds will grow into some fern lookng plants, about six or eight of them. If you're looking for cheap food, you can pick the plants, and later eat them as a buffless (HP only) food. But they disappear fairly quickly, so you have to pick fast.

Last time I did this quest, I planted my seeds, and got eight. Then someone else came by and planted his seeds and then swam off. I picked his six and had some extra food in the bag that lasted until Camp Taurajo.

-VERY EASY WAY TO GET FOOD-

1. Plant the seed in the bubbles thing (see above comments for more information on where it is located).

2. Right click the bushes that appear around it (pointer will become a cogwheel when you mouseover it). You will receive Fissure Plant for each bush collected.

3. Go to the quests menu (Default keybind is "L") and click "abandon" button, its in the lower left corner (MAKE SURE YOU HAVE SELECTED THE RIGHT QUEST! Name has to be "The Stagnant Oasis").

You will keep the food.

4. Go up the mountain to the guy you got the quest from (Jerrik Highmountain) and accept it again.

Repeat the above steps until you have the desired amount of food.

This will save you some money, as this is completely free to do!

You can also sell the food to a merchant for some money, but it will not be a significant amount.

Use the dried seeds to investigate the fissures in the Stagnant Oasis.

Description

Can what's happening to the south happen here? Judging by what you found at the Forgotten Pools, these oases may be the key. Let's perform an experiment.

Here, take these seeds I've collected from the summit here. They are dead and infertile, but carry them down to the Stagnant Oasis just below us. If there is a fissure there, then place the seeds within it... and observe. Report your findings back to Tonga at the Crossroads.
