This quest doesn't seem to trigger for me even though I already did most of the Week 1 activities. Does anyone know the requirements for the quest to appear?

same here. my friend got it as we were jumping down in to the maw and i didn't. went back to orobos to see if i missed something but couldn't find anything.

As a person who works in the industry and has ran many incentivized surveys on players I am almost certain this quest is indeed a disguised survey to learn more about our experience with The Maws' balancing. I take my hat off to Blizz.

Dunno if this triggers off you getting Renown 3. Many times I travelled to Oribos but only after I got renown 3 (and had done the 1k anima quest too) did the NPC spawn at my arrival point in Oribos, from the travel from my covenant area.

I think it's triggered from reputation with Ve'nari. It's definitely not based on Renown, as I was still rank 2 when I got it.

Quest is guaranteed a very well placed quiz in order to help balance The Maw and Torghast. Hats off to Blizz. This is pretty meta.

If you accept the quest, but leave Oribos without answering the question, the NPC won't be there when you come back. You must abandon, and then he will reappear next to you to accept the quest again.

Does anyone know what happens if you tell him you know Ve'nari?

Edit: Never mind. I forgot you have no choice but to tell him you don't know Ve'nari. It would be kind of kewl to tell him you know Ve'nari and then have to do several more quests to win Ve'nari back to helping you.

Ve'rayn shows up asking about Ve'nari as I jump into The Maw and I watch Ve'rayn follow me as I'm falling. Guess she didn't survive the fall or she'd have found Ve'nari. LOL

Has anyone tried to do the rest of the Maw unlock chains while ignoring the random clipboard wielding Ve cartel rep?

In real world surveys I usually end up pointing out how their question list is flawed, or asking them how they expect valid results when they don't know if they can trust the inputs / people who answer them.

I am, after all, a complete newcomer to Oribos.

I see no sign that they behave differently to anyone based on any non shadowlands reputations, but I could be wrong.

From a personal perspective I like to assume it triggered more because we rescued some Ve cartel being's parcel from near one of the bosses in the Mini Example Of Torghast run.

You can ignore her, and even collect her head later in Korthia. She will still harass you.

SURVEY QUESTION ZERO: do I have to take this quest rly really reeeeeally? I can ignore a survey forever.

Ve'nari's New Rules (quest series)
increasing reputation with her (she vendors various odd features)

The things Ve'nari sells for Torghast and the Maw don't seem to depend on the New Rules chain. So potentially no.

Urm, I'm an alt and a shadow priest, deliberately wearing a drust mask and walking around spewing purple smoke and stepping on celestial blue bits. Also, I'm "new" here. You really shouldn't trust me as far as you can throw me, and those little wooden nibs you stand on do not give you very much leverage.

This NPC popped up after I handed in The Search for Baine. The crazy bint stalked me the moment I headed up to the flight path. Supposedly this is offered after completing Explore Torghast, but since that whole questline has been abandoned, I assume it just becomes available regardless? Not my first foray into Torghast, given that this is the second time in the story that you are in there, but whatever.

Given that there are still a fair few quests before Exploring Torghast would have become available, I'm curious to know why Bliz decided to move it's unlock to here, rather than say The Weak Link (which is at least the last in the chain that isn't an optional quest before Explore Torghast would have unlocked)
