To complete the quest you need to loot several items from Forsworn mobs. The key to complete this quest fast is locating a good spot.
I used to kill mobs at Purity's Pinncale and a bit north of it. The area starts at 57.6 57.3 and located further to the south.
Quest description doesnt mean exact mob names so just kill all around - researchers, phalynxs, dark gollaths etc, all of them drop the loot you need.

To complete Humble Gatherer collect 3 items:
x2 Depleted Goliath Core - you can get it from Dark Goliath at Mnemonic Locus.
x6 Tampered Anima Charger - drops from mechanical enemies like Converted Clawguard , Converted Praetor.
x5 Soul Mirror Shard - drops from humanoid Forsworn enemies like Forsworn Researcher.

After not getting any drops from Dark Goliath for dozens of kills, I went back to the north part and killed two elite goliaths and dropped two cores.

Enemy was Forsworn Punisher

For me, the Soul Mirror Shard dropped at a super high rate (5 shards on 6 kills) at Purity's pinnacle area. Both on the Forsworn Acolytes and Forsworn Recruits

The text quest says that the tampered anima chargers drop from Forsworn Centurions. This seems to be a mistake as there doesn't seem to be any of these mobs in existence.

Looking at some of the comments about Depleted Goliath Core for this quest. Either Blizzard changed something since the Beta, but Depleted Goliath Core was bugged during the Beta and let me better explain it.

Before we even get this quest there is a high chance that we LOOTED up to 2 Depleted Goliath Core while doing the Bastion Campaign.
You can only carry a limit of 2 of these items.
By the time you get to this quest it will tell you that you need 2 Depleted Goliath Core, but you likely already have 2 hiding in your bags and can't pick up more.
So the quest was bugged because it said I needed 2 Depleted Goliath Core even though I had 2.
So I deleted them and afterwards I was able to loot them for quest completion.

Hope explaining it better will help yall understand the bug and how to work around it.

Please note:

As explained very helpfully by Rubz93: during the beta there was a problem with this quest, where often players would not be able to loot any Goliath Cores regardless of defeating many of the right kind of mob. During the beta, very commonly players would have unknowingly looted two Goliath Cores earlier on during the Bastion campaign, without realizing that they have done so. These items would then stay in their inventory without them realizing this, and later when they would try to do the quest Humble Gatherer, no Goliath Cores would drop because of the Goliath Cores in their inventory. During the beta, what worked for me and many others, as suggested by Rubz93 at the time, was to delete the Goliath Cores from your inventory. Then they would drop normally, and we would be able to complete the quest.

However, it appears that now during live, something has changed and now players who had deleted Goliath Cores from their inventory say that they cannot complete the quest, and have run into serious problems where they needed to contact a GM for help or something to that effect. I'm not sure if this means that now, unlike in the beta, some players are able to get Goliath Cores to drop even while there are ones already in their inventory. Just looking at the comments on here I'm not sure if players are still running into the problem of not getting them to drop. Regardless, please take all of this information into account. If I learn anything new I will update this post.

None of the quest mobs showed that they dropped anything.
Probably a bug, but killing the mobs will drop the quest items

This quest leads you to multiple areas with Forsworn, however I would reccomend going to the South Eastern area marked on the map, near Purity's Pinnacle. Killing the mechanical enemies there dropped the Anima Charges, and they are not elites, unlike in other areas for this quest

The dungeon Spires of Ascension have mobs that drop these items, so you can try running it to get some if you're missing any

The Mnemonic Locus is a good place to farm this since you can get all 3 rewards for the Humble Gatherer quest here.

Lo and behold another quest that irked me to know end. I went to the suggested spots and farmed the cores and anima in no time, but the mirror shards would not drop. I spent about 20 minutes killing mobs before I rationalized that it was either bugged or gated by some other quest, luckily I had a quest that looked like it fit the bill in my log.

You need to complete Mysterious Soul Mirror before the mirror shards will drop. After I completed it (great cinematic BTW) the shards took me all of three minutes to farm at the location nearest the end of said quest.

Maybe I'm alone here but I am definitely feeling the lack of polish BIG TIME in SL. Thank goodness for Wowhead.

Quest Name: Start and description

1 The Path of Ascension Storyline start from Haephus 42 53.
2 Humble Gatherer "You need to Find:
- 2 Depleted Goliath Core Drop from Forsworn Punisher or Dark Goliath
- 6 Tampered Anima Charger Drop from mechanical enemies in Bastion

You dont need to win this fight but is good to train skills due to that next time you will need to win.
Skills:
Test of Faith - 3 sec duration attack ( can get 20 energy ) You can't move when using.
Aspirant's Bindings - Root enemy + aoe dmg ( can get 10 energy ) You can cast when moving.
Confront Memories - Drop 3 memories: Swift Recollection, Prescient Recollection and Armored Recollection You can pick up only 1 all giving deferent abilit ( You will get 20 energy )
Unleash - You can use it when you have 100 energy. Is best skill with large dmg Use it all the time when energy ready.
SKill 5 - Use it when you have chain on you to run out.
Stay on from of you enemy then you will do basic attack giving you 1 energy."

I looted all the soul mirror shards in the northwestern area near Citadel of Loyalty. I also found most of the Tampered Anima Chargers there. After that, there is a small area in the southeast at 56, 62 that has the Dark Goliath. They drop the Depleted Goliath Core. The Dark Goliaths were in the northwestern area, but none of them dropped the DGC for me. Maybe bad RNG.

I see no comments mentioning it, but my quest marked as complete after looting 1 Depleted Goliath Core, 3 Soul Mirror Shards, and 3 Tempered Anima Chargers. But you need all of them for the follow-up quest to craft 2 Overcharged Goliath Cores (2 Depleted Goliath Cores, 6 Tempered Anima Chargers) and a Soul Mirror (5 Soul Mirror Shards).

This quest is still kinda bugged. It showed me that I completed the quest after getting like half the amounts of items. Don't let that fool you. Kill mobs until you have as much items as the quest demands. You can finish the quest with less items but for the next quest you need those items so you actually need the amount the quest tells you to get.

I got all the items I need on this at The Eternal Forge pretty easy.
Easy and safe spot to do this as everyone else is doing WQ here too.

I also got all mats for next quest same spot.
If you run up the hills when done you get a fligth to Elysian Hold from Fate's Precipe

Elysian Feathers drops rigth outside Sagehaven. - Find a spot and stay same spot then kill swiftwing larions. They spawn every few seconds

I got “Humble Gatherer failed: Duplicate Item Found” error, i had two extra items, after deleting the extra amount, the quest worked again, hope this wil help anybody that has the same problem (:

So, on this quest which seems to be "bugged" when you try and turn them in, yes, if you have extra amount of the quest items required for the turn in, it won't work. I had 4 extra Tempered Anima chargers, and 29 shards. I only deleted the extra anima chargers that I had and strangely I was able to turn in the quest! The quest also didn't even take the quest items that were required for it and left me with the same amount that I had! Strange...

As per a few comments on this thread; the drop rate for DGC is utter crap. I looted 1 from Eternal Forge, but despite wiping every big bugger in this & the zone to SW of Bastion, I see squat dropping. Either this is a bug, or there is a serious issue with Q design. This kind of garbage is not what I pay subs for. Having to delete items already looted to complete/turn in a relatively low level Q is beyond poor.
It appears that once you have looted 1 DGC the Q won't let you loot the 2nd. Delete the 1 you have from your bag, then start looting again. Had to kill just 2 'biggies' in Eternal Forge to get them. Go figure!

Completed this quest on 2/18/2021 with no item stacking issues. I did not have to delete items or split stacks. Seems they fixed it.

Just done this and got the 2 Cores I needed on first two Forsworn Punishers so may have had drop rate increased

If you are not seeing the item locations on your map or seeing the mob info displaying whether they drop the items, this is normal.
