Jarod Shadowsong gains aggro incredibly easily in this area. The instant he is in combat, you are unable to turn in, or pick up any of the quests in the chain that he offers. I found that if you can lead him to a safe area, killing every single mob that wanders near you on your way, he will eventually drop out of combat, allowing you to turn in/pick up quests once again.

Blizzard has a funny idea of what a healer quest should entail...

Send you in with a weak dps NPC companion who has zero threat and tons of rapidly-respawning enemy mobs on a headhunt for named NPCs? Sure thing.

Easier to do this as a tank.

To turn this in, log out and back in and the idiot following you around (Commander Jarod Shadowsong) will suddenly have the ? over his head.

You have to defeat three corrupted guys:

Disa Trueshaft standing just in field, coordinates are 37.0 61.8.
Nethos Starwalker stands at 37.2 58.6 spot, near the small house.
Tael'thos the Cutter can be found at 39.2 62.0 spot, under a "tent".

A holy quest, that involves killing... typical Blizzard logic! I should do this in my %^&*ing tank or ret spec!

As a paladin, it was much easier doing it as protection than holy.

As of 9.1.5, this quest is bugged - the NPCs to kill are level 60, same for all other mobs in the area. I did this quest on a level 53 druid and they 2-3 shot me.

So I just chatted with GM, appearantly this quest is bugged atm. It doesn't scale, you have to be lvl 60 to be able to do it. You can either level up to 60 and then do it (the holy artifact chain, there are couple of quests that are bugged in this chain this way) or try to file a ticket and GM will finish it for you. I tried to do it with a friend but because it's phased they didn't see me or the mobs, just the standard state of the area and mobs (villigers, birds etc.) The GM couldn't say when it will be fixed so don't know how long it will be this way. Hope this helps.

Still horrifically bugged as of 12/2021. All quest mobs are 60s and you're locked in combat regardless what you do. Even after abandoning the quest you still can't mount, can't use flight points, can't log out. Jarred Shadowsong is following you around in a really glitchy multiple images way and you can't get rid of him. No choice but call task manager and kill WoW process.

With a Feral spec Druid I found that the best way to kill Tael'thos the Cutter is to fly in, land on top of his hut, switch to cat form, let him engage you through the ceiling of the hut and switch back into Travel Form. Once in travel form, run up to Bradensbrook and he will follow you. Yes, you can kite him all the way to Bradensbrook! He will then have to face all of the villagers as well. Switch back to cat form and aid the villagers. It helps greatly if you are with the Night Fae Covenent; their "Convoke the Spirits" ability is of helps beautifully.

This quest sucked as a Paladin because you can't get close enough to him without aggroing the other mobs.

Description

Erdris Thorn was a key commander of Ravencrest's forces. To hear him confusing us for the Legion fills me with a great sadness. He will be a difficult foe to defeat. We must stop his squad leaders from forming up for a focused assault on Bradensbrook. Defeating them should delay his forces long enough for us to find and deal with him. Let us begin our grim task.
