Nixx Sprocketspring in Gadgetzan seems to require you to be in good terms with the Goblins. So as a person who has done pirate rep i can´t progress further in the engineering quests.

EDIT: As Shyeye in the comments mentioned, there is a quest that you can turn in cloth to the goblins to get the rep back to neutral. This was a quick and easy way to proceed in the quests. Check comments below.

the item you need to find is in the smaller building on the table.the area is a fatigue zone so be warned.

If you're a gnomish engineer, don't forget to use your ultrasafe teleporters and northrend wormhole.

Cuts the travel time quite a bit.

Thank you Blizzard, all I wanted was to turn in that quest in Tanaris, not having to farm reputation with Gadgetzan...

Some of you might have encountered the same scenario as I. I was hated due old content achievements and now, few expansion later, I am in need of the reputation for a quest turn in.

If you are experiencing the same situation, instead of killing pirates (again) I just went for a faster and more expensive method which is by doing the repeatable quest "War at Sea" which can be found here:
War at Sea

Basically turn in Mageweave cloth and Strong Flux until you have your reputation back, these can be bought from the AH and some vendors respectively.

You need 40 Mageweave and 4 Storng Flux in order to turn in the quest, it will give you 500 RP with Gadgetzan and 250 to all others (Ratchet, Everlook and booty bay), it will also take 500 RP with bloodsail bucaneers.

*EDIT*
Also the court of stars quest bugged for some people including myself, only one person was able to loot item from first boss, apparently it is hotfixed now, but will have to do it for a 3rd time this week.

Is there a place to find the quotes from these people online? Some jerk bruiser in Ratchet that could magically shoot through walls interrupted my conversation with Chief Engineer Foote, so now I have no idea what he said.

This quest became available to me after completing Halls of Valor: Trigger Happy.

The last part sends you to a location not far from where an old underwater mining village used to be it seems, possibly impyling that is the one. However original one was way deeper, at the very bottom of the ocean floor, with more objects around it like oil rigs and gnomish mechs.
Can anyone confirm if the original one is still there or did they remove it?

Long quest, takes much time to do. You have to find and have a talk with few engineers over the world:

Rocket-Chief Fuselage located in Area 52, Netherstorm, Outland at 32.6 64.8 point. You can use a portal from Chamber of the Guardian to Shattrath. Fly to Area 52 then.
You can find Ricket in Storm Peaks, Northrend, at 40.8 85.4 point, ride a ship to Northrend and fly to K3. You can also use your old dalaran ring to get there.
Chief Engineer Foote can be found in Ratchet, Northern Barrens, at 67.0 74.6 point, inside a building. You can take the portal from Dalarn (Northrend) to Caverns of Time, and the fly from Bootlegger Outpost. Or fly from Orgrimmar if you are Horde.
Next one is Nixx Sprocketspring, he can be found in Gadgetzan, Tanaris, at 52.2 28.2 point. Fly from Ratchet.
Finally, speak with Winkey, she's located on an island in Tanaris, at 65.0 63.6 point.
Pick up diving helm next to her and go to 69.5 68.3 spot, find the lab under the sea and turn the quest in.

As someone who's hated with the Steamwheedle Cartel, I'd started attempting "Insane in the Membrane" a while back -- there's pirates near Gadgetzan that you can kill (that cove north of the Caverns of Time) that will give you rep for all of the Steamwheedle groups -- but 2x more for Gadgetzan -- without dropping your Bloodsail rep. If you get the merry-go-round boost from Darkmoon Faire, that's even faster.

I'm currently at honored for Gadget, but still hated by the rest -- remember, you only need to be neutral with Gadgetzan to finish the quest, so that should tell you how fast the Gadget rep rises with those pirate-kills. It only took me a day or so to get to neutral from Hated.

For the Ratchet part of the quest, I had flasks of Skaggldrynk ready. I flew over the inn that Chief Engineer Foote was in, flew into it and hit the potion. I had just enough time to talk to the guy before a bouncer ran over -- at that point, hit ANYTHING you've got that'll stun the goblin and hearth out.

It helps to be a pally -- Hammer of Justice + Divine Shield helped a LOT.

For my fellow alliance players, if you want to get to Ratchet fast, use the teleporter in The Shrine of Seven Stars. It costs 10g btw.

When will anyone ever post WHAT starts a Quest, rather than what's involved in getting it done...?

In short -- does this require It's On With Automatons to be completed first (feel free to file this under "Eighjan's n00b questions")...?

This may be the worst quest I have played so far. There is no point to it at all, other than wasting at least an hour of your time. There's no challenge to it, there's no reason for it, it's just "go somewhere that's really far from where you are, talk to a person. That person will tell you to go somewhere else that is really far from where you are and talk with a person. That person will tell you to go somewhere else that is really far from where you are and talk with a person."

This is simply the worst kind of quest design imaginable. Whoever thought this was a good idea should be removed from the quest design team.

Games are supposed to be fun, this is boring and frustrating and a waste of my time.

Holy moly was this tedious to do, so many far away places you had to go, and even with the revamped portals it still took a long time to get to each location.

Is the Nixx part bugged? Driving me nuts! When I hit the quest dialog it takes me to the tab to learn the engineering plans. Thought maybe I needed my rep higher as I was only neutral, got to friendly and he still won't talk about quest!
