Remember to loot the Dented Shovel and the Vintage Bug Sprayer (used to get rid of bugs, go figure eh?).

I planted the first four Scallions, untangled weeds, pulled up stunted ones, and killed bugs, and all four are showing Growing.

My wife tried, and got fully grown scallions on her first go. So you may need to dig them up with the shovel, and replant if you don't feel like waiting a day to complete the quest.

This is the final quest in the chain to unlock farming.

When you plant scallions for Gina, you'll only need to plant one. For the other slots, you can plant whatever you like.

*You may have to do this last quest the following day. Crops ripen when dailies reset so unless its slightly before that time, you'll need to come back after they do, or any time the next day.

The good news is that if you have your crops planted even moments before reset, they will be ready very soon! This applies for regular farming too, not just this quest. I've tested and tried this method myself and was able to harvest within 8 min. after planting and tending.

Edit: updated for patch 5.1. Crops no longer ripen at midnight server time.

I was unable to get any follow-up quest to this. She said something about "inexperience". I'm guessing I need to be a higher level to continue? I'm currently lvl 85.

An important note - you start with 4 patches of soil, but to complete this quest you only need to plant ONE scallion seed - you will get 5 scallions from each one planted! I had to search high and low to find this information =)

Rarely, a vegetable will yield a plump crop, which yields an extra 2-3 vegetables when harvested. Of note - if you speak to Jogu the Drunk, he will tell you which veggies will yield a plump crop the next day (for a gold fee).

Remember you can and even put a raid target on the NPC's head to locate the merchant. He can easily get lost in the crowd with 50 players running about!

In order to harvest the crops you have to wait until 12am server time. So if you plant them at 11:58pm in theory its quick. Otherwise you pretty much have to wait a day.

So WHEN can I harvest my scallion? Ive planted mine for more than 24 hours ago and I still cant pick it up. Ive cared for it and removed bugs and things like that. So why is it taking so long?

Steps to do daily:
- Buy four seeds from Merchant Greenfield.
- Target and click the untilled soil or use the plow.
- Target the tilled soil and plant a seed from your bag.
- Fix any problems like vermins, weeds, etc.
- If growing, then nothing else to do but wait.

Growing Scallions have to wait until 12am realm time.
Ripe Scallions are ready to loot after 12am realm time.
Plump Scallions are ready to loot after 12am realm time.
Bursting Scallions are already grown and ready to loot immediately.

One of my four plowed mounds generated a - Wild Scallions - Now to wrestle the monstrosity into submission! Ohhh the joy of farming, WoW Style! - Dirty job but someone had to do it. Now that I have wrestled the Wild Scallion; a normal one has taken its' place!

If you are leveling, this is the last quest you can do related to farming until you hit level 90. The rest of the chain starts back up once you hit 90. You can however, continue to use the 4 plots on the farm to grow veggies for your cooking, you just wont get any rep or quests until level 90.

Once you've handed in Learn and Grow VI: Gina's Vote, a brief scene will occur.

Gina Mudclaw says: Come walk with me, <name>. I would like to pay Farmer Yoon a visit.

Gina Mudclaw then starts walking towards Farmer Yoon's farm. Along the way...

Gina Mudclaw says: You know, you sure saved my hide with those scallions.
Gina Mudlcaw says: Cooks are always looking for fresh vegetables. Anything you grow on your farm, you can use for cooking or sell to other cooks.
Gina Mudclaw says: Talk to any of the Ironpaws at the market if you want to improve your own cooking skill.

Gina Mudclaw stops in front of Farmer Yoon and waves at him.

Gina Mudclaw says: Hey Farmer Yoon!

Farmer Yoon waves back.

Farmer Yoon says: Hey Gina! Didn't expect a visit from you.
Gina Mudclaw says: Listen, since you two did such a good turn by helping me out, I'm casting the first vote to help you join the Tillers.

She then approaches the Shrine, kneels in front of it and places a stick in one of the bowls. There are 6 in all. She then stands up and turns towards Farmer Yoon.

Gina Mudclaw says: There are four other votes you'll need to get, but that'll come in time.
Gina Mudclaw says: Settle yourselves in first. You'll be able to farm your fields, but I'm afraid you're too inexperienced to continue further. Once you've seen more of Pandaria, be sure to stop by.
Gina Mudclaw says: Welcome to the Heartland!

Gina Mudclaw departs.

You'll likely be about level 86 or 87 by the time you finish this quest. To continue the long and time consuming chain, you will need to be level 90.

If you get wild scallion you need to fight it... 50 stack of spell number 1. then bit it spell 2.

If you absolutely can't wait until the next day, you can plant seeds over and over until you get a Bursting Scallions (Randomly seeds will not have to wait until 12pm reset and will be ready immediately). Although you might have to plant 100+ seeds and dig them up before you get one.

This counts towards the quest credit.

Unsure if they've changed this so you don't have to wait, or if I just got -very- lucky, but planted 2 scallion seeds that were both Bursting immediately, lootable at once.

You may want to plant the next item in the "votes" list so that you don't have to wait for the dailes to reset (in this case 2 Juicycrunch Carrots) .
I have compiled the five people and their votes below.

For example: When you go to plant the scallion for Gina, you also plant the Juicycrunch Carrots for Mung Mung. This will make it so that as soon as you hit honored you can do Mung Mung's questline all at once and not have to wait until the next day. If you have bought the Grand Commendation of the Tillers, you should be just over honored when you get to this quest.

The five people and their veggies to plant and their votes are as follows (including this quest)

Mung-Mung's Vote III: The Great Carrot Caper (Requires level 90)

Plant and harvest 3 Green Cabbage, then deliver 15 Green Cabbages to Farmer Fung.

What plants you will need for each quest.

You will need for the first quest 1 scallion plant for the next, 2 carrots plants, for the next 3 cabbages plants, for the next 3 witchberry plants, and for the last one 4 striped melon plants. But if you plant the ones you will need the day before you get the quest for them just remember not to harvest them without the quest. ;)

Do not buy the scallions .. Grow them ... I came back to Halfhill after a while and wanting to pickup where I left of ... Spent a Ironpaw token on 25 scallions for nothing .. so remember!

Hi all!
I really need help.. I planted the scallions, came back a day later to grown scallions and then harvested them. That was fine but it's saying I do not have the five scallions needed.. Have I done something wrong? I have no idea why it's doing this - Ahhh it's frustrating me!
I feel like I have to plant again and wait another day, please tell me I don't have to do that?

Description

My business is doomed! You see all of the Ironpaws at their cooking stations?

Their tasty dishes draw many of the customers to this market, but they're all out of scallions!

It may not look like much, but the scallion is an essential cooking ingredient. Without it, foods are less savory, less flavorful, and less aromatic.

This is terrible. I'm not getting another scallion shipment for a week!
