the profession quests that grant skill points ARE repeatable, but would only grant skill points like once a week or so...

You need Light Parchment to do the actual inscribing. Keep 5 on you before you go to the faire.

One of the new patch 4.3 Darkmoon Faire profession quests, you must have at least 75 skill in Inscription to see this quest.

Requires 5 Light Parchment which cannot be bought on Darkmoon Island so remember to bring some with you.

The profession quests can only be completed once during each Darkmoon Faire and will grant 5 skill points.

The nearest vendors to the Darkmoon Faire portals are Kuruk (H), Innkeeper Farley (A) for the Moonberry Juice and Shadi Mistrunner (H), Tharynn Bouden (A) for all the other trade goods. You'll have to collect the fossil fragments yourself. If you forgot to bring your fishing rod with you, Tatia Brine on Darkmoon Island sells fishing supplies.

As with all the Darkmoon Faire profession quests, you need a skill of 75 in that profession to be eligible for the quest.

Even if you done the primary profession quests that week, if you drop a profession during Darkmoon Faire week, you can do the quests for the profession that you pick up as well. Even rewarding the achievement Faire Favors without completing one of the secondary skill quests such as Archaeology or Fishing.

Possibly means that if your toon has no professions you could conceivably do the quest for every primary profession each month, awarding you with 36 Darkmoon Prize Tickets instead of just 8. (Assuming you're willing to get each profession to 75 and really really want the tickets right meow.)

You DO NOT use the Inscription Milling skill to actually mill the herbs. Simply right-click on them and they will "mill" themselves into Prophetic Ink.

Sadly it cannot use Light Parchment from your reagent bank. Duh! All the way back. LOL.

This quest is a blessing for levelling the last few points in Inscription in Legion for Working the Isles. Those are green from 790 and are terribly expensive at the beginning of an expansion.

Pro Tip: If you forget your parchment and you have either the Reins of the Grand Expedition Yak or Reins of the Traveler's Tundra Mammoth you can mount up and buy them from the vendor on your mount.

Update: With patch 8.1 you will be awarded +5 skill for the latest profession obtained. You still need the required classic skill to get the quest. If you have Legion maxed out and do not have skill level 1 in BFA, you will not get the skill levels.

The profession quests only reward skill level if your "classic" skill level is under 300. I tested this with a toon with 280/300 cooking and was rewarded the +5 cooking skill points from the DMF quest.

This affects all quests that reward skill levels that changed in the BFA pre-patch including dailies such as Feeling Crabby?.

I have confirmed that Archaeology DMF quest still rewards your skill points if you are under 800 skill level. This was the only profession that was not changed in the latest patch. I am not sure if this was intentional or an oversight. I reported this as a bug.

Additionally, I verified the following quests will reward bonus skill levels if your "classic" skill level is under 300.

Blacksmithing - Baby Needs Two Pair of Shoes
Mining - Talkin' Tonks
Cooking - Putting the crunch in the Frog

If you have only done inscription in BFA then this quest is not available. I guess I need to go back and level up the old inscription skills to unlock it. Looks like the same for cooking as well.

I done this about 1 hour ago as a 145 scribe and never got the 5 points in skillup, not sure if its a bug or disabled for BFA?

With 8.1, you can get whatever your current xpac is in skill points. This means at 110+ you can get 5 Zandalari/Kul Tiran Inscription doing this quest. However, you won't get the quest if you don't have at least 75 points in the Vanilla skill level. My paladin picked up Inscription late and had no points in vanilla inscription, even though he was 112 Inscription when he went to DMF today. Once I got 75 vanilla inscription, the quest showed up and I got +5 Zandalari Inscription.

doing this quest today, it won't allow me to use the light parchment stashed in my reagent bank. luckily, i can use an Expedition Yak to buy light parchment from Cousin Slowhands

Highly recommend the addon DMF Quest. It lists and lets you auto buy all the stuff you'll need for your relevant profession quests at the Darkmoon Faire, and shows you a completed or not completed status for each month when the Faire comes around.

Most times, they ask for knowledge best left hidden in the mists of time, but it is not my place to give such advice.

My stock of written fortunes is running low and you look to have a steady hand. Take these herbs, make ink from them, and pen a few fortunes for me. You can get the parchment you'll need from any trade goods vendor in Elwynn Forest or Mulgore.
