To the best that I can figure out, there is no return portal to SW or Org from Uldum. I guess we just set our hearths to SW or Org and then use the outbound portals from there.

Yet another way to get there: the Dalaran teleport rings, for sale by the jewelry vendor in Dalaran IIRC. Ports you from anywhere in the world to the mage portal arrival point in Dalaran, half-hour cooldown. Probably only worth investing in if you still plan to do a lot of Northrend dungeon or raid hard modes and stuff like that, but if you already have it, don't forget about it.

If you have opened the waygate from Scholozar Basin -> Un'goro, then I believe this might be the fastest from SW, if you dont have a mage around for a Theramore portal.

Took me 8 mins from Dwarven Dist to the Thistlethrub Valley via Borean Tundra/Scholzar Basin (Waygate) on 280% mount.

If you dont have waygate open, I think I would attempt Borean Tundra -> Durotar via horde airship to Orgrimmar.

I can't get this quest. I tried finding the caravan without it. No dice. I've looked all around thistleshrub valley, I've flown around stormwind looking for exclamation points, I've clicked heroes call boards, nada. I'm level 85, I just want my Ramakhen rep.

I too am having this problem. I've looked for the caravan, looked for the quest Meetup with the Caravan (from Harrison Jones), and checked the hero's call board. I'm also 85 and am still having no luck. I checked my quest log and don't have either of the quests... I don't get it. Any ideas?

If you don't have an easy, free way to get to Dalaran, the fewest steps (both meanings) is portal to Hyjal and fly to Tanaris. It does take time, but see the previous message about a beer run.

6. You are now in Uldum

See post on 2011-01-14. This is mutually exclusive with Meet up with the caravan. if you have that in your quest log then abandon it. You will then be able to get hero's call: uldum. I don't remember picking that up, but I was grinding pretty fast in deepholm....

I too am having this problem. I have quest complete list and it shows 4 quests that I have not completed, two of those are the dailies. The two that are not dailies are

Myzerian's Head

and this quest which I cannot pick up fron hero's call board. I did do the caravan quest.

Another thread says that you cant kill Myzerian without being in the right phaze that requres the hero'a call board quest, I believe, read it late last night. So I have two unfinished quests in Uldum now.

I have always kept Dalaran as my home city and from there I just use the Caverns of Time portal to Tanaris.

Fast way of getting to the caravan in tanaris:

Mage's teleport to Dalaran - Dalaran portal to the Caverns of Time (in the citadel) - You are in Tanaris.

Here's another way for alliance. Go to Booty Bay and take the boat to Ratchet and then fly to Tanaris.

My route was:
1. Deeprun Tram SW->IF
2. Fly to Menethil Harbor(Wetlands)
3. Ship to Theramore
4. Fly to Tanaris
Not the shortest one, but it will do it.

If you're in Stormwind, you can take the ship to Borean Tundra, to Dalaran, take the port to Caverns of Time, and then fly. It took me around 5 minutes to make the trip. However, the ship was docked at SW at the time as well.

My comment is for Alliance as that is the faction I solved this on, however the quests are the same for Horde.

If you're like me then you've logged on to an alt to run some old raids for transmog and realised you dont have the portal to Uldum unlocked on that character. Its possible you dropped the quest when heading to level up in a new expansion or skipped the zone entirely. I had some difficulty trying to unlock the portal as neither of the two starting quests were available to me, so I had to figure out where in the quest chain I dropped a quest. Try the following steps if you were stuck like me.

As others have mentioned the starting quest to unlock the zone and portal from Stormwind is Hero's Call: Uldum, available from the board in Stormwind. If this quest is not available to you, head over to Harrison Jones (85,25) to see if he has Meetup with the Caravan. Its important to note that if you have already completed the Hero's Call quest then the quest from Harrison Jones will not show up for you. If Harrison Jones also has nothing for you, we now have to figure out what quest in the chain you dropped all those expansions ago.

There are a few ways to check if you have already completed a quest in the game. This guide is quite helpful. I found the easiest way is to use the following script:

/run print(IsQuestFlaggedCompleted(QUEST-ID))

Replace "QUEST-ID" with the Quest ID for the quest you looking at and it should return either "true/false" or "1/nil".

The quest chain to get up to the Hero's Call/Caravan quest is as follows:

The last quest sending you into Uldum with a caravan escort quest.

Use the script in-game to see if you have completed all of these quests. If you find one that you haven't completed, head to the quest giver and it should be waiting for you to pick up there. If you have completed all of these quests then check the following chain:

The portal will be available to you once you hand in the last quest in this chain.

If you aren't a mage, I think the best place to have your hearth is at the Golden Lantern In the Vale of Eternal Blossoms, Pandaria. There you have portals to the 4 Major Alliance cities, a portal to Shattrath and a portal to Dalaran.

In Dalaran, go up the big long stairway to the Violet Citadel. Inside go up the next stairway to the balcony above, turn left, and take the portal to Caverns of Time and you will be in Tanaris; right next door to Uldum.

FYI Uldum portals in capital cities are working now. You can just accept the quest, go to your faction's capital portal hub and click in the Uldum portal, no hassle :)

Can anyone confirm this is a lvl 83 quest? I read the google entry for the link to this page: "Speak with Adarrah at Thistleshrub Valley in Tanaris. A level 83 Uldum Quest. Rewards . Added in World of Warcraft: Cataclysm." However, it doesn't state this in this Wowhead page; Can anyone confirm the lvl 83?
(Note: If I get it at level 83, I will confirm later)

This quest did not even appear on the Hero's Call board in Stormwind for my level 88 Monk.

Quickest way to Ultum from Stormwind now is take the portal to Caverns of Time and then fly.
