Your best bet to get there fastest is to get a mage portal to Dalaran and take the Caverns of time portal at the Violet Citadel.

The portal does show up - it just doesn't seem to be linked with this Quest, but more like Vashj'ir - it's active only after u do the initial events. Guessing u need to do the escort of the caravan and..perhaps the few follow up Qs. Until then take portal to Dalaran and then to CoT and do as many Qs as u can once in Uldum just to be safe u'll have portal when u go back to OG :)

You do not need to pick up this quest to be able to get the quest at caravan in Tanaris.

That is, if you forgot it - just fly to caravan location and you will see a questgiver starting your way to Uldum. You are, however, required to be 83 in order to pick it up.

A quick note about this.

If ur heading over to Uldum, to explore the entrance to The Vortex Pinnacle, the best way to do this is during the starting quests.

U will find yourself in the bottom off the map at the start, but when u complete some Quests more to the top, after u completed the chains for the portal.

I was never offered the starting quests in Deepholm. Now lvl 84 and nothing on the Warchief's Board. I flew to Tanaris to find the caravan, but they are not there (flew around the entrance for a half an hour). Any suggestions please?

The quest Escape from the Lost City is the one that makes the portal to Uldum appear in Orgrimmar. I don't know about Alliance side.

List of all the Warchief's Command breadcrumbs and the required level. Remember that none of these count for The Loremaster or associated achievements and are unavailable as soon as you start any chain in the zone it indicates.

As of 5.0.4 though, these quests give 60,000 guild exp (as does any level appropriate quest) so it may be worth while to come back and grab them as you are leveling when they come availible.

Speak with Adarrah in Thistleshrub Valley in western Tanaris.

Description

All able-bodied members of the Horde are hereby ordered to report to Adarrah at the Thistleshrub Valley in Tanaris.

Ancient texts tell us that Uldum is home to untold riches and treasures beyond compare. Go forth and claim these in the name of the Horde!

You can reach Adarrah's caravan by traveling to the southwestern part of Tanaris and looking for her in Thistleshrub Valley.
