This quest is bugged (beta), the bag never is in the loot.

The quest is bugged for me as well. If I try to auto loot it disappears, but if I manually loot it it works fine.

To easily find the deceased goblins, turn on friendly nameplates. The bags may not auto loot, so be sure to click on them in the loot window even if you have auto loot enabled.

As everyone above has said, the autoloot function doesn't work on this quest, possibly because the mechanic to loot the Ditty Bag is a pick-pocketing mechanic and does not work in combat.

If questing with a partner, there aren't enough bodies in the camp for both of you. There are more dead privateers further to the south at a murloc camp. If you feel like waiting, spawn time is over 3 minutes on the bodies.

This quest is particularly annoying as a Worgen. As mentioned above, you can't loot the bodies when mounted. Make sure Running Wild is turned off - the swimming/idle underwater animation is the same as the non-mounted animation.

There is a bug when you try to look the dead privateers. You try to loot them and nothing happens. I solved it by "attacking" the corpse with one of my spells. After I did that, however, looting the corpse worked!

There must be some glitch in the code which makes a corpse un-lootable until it has actually been attacked... almost like the game things the corpses are still partly alive? Dunno.

I have tried everything and still can't loot them! I tried while unmounted...nothing...tried attacking them with one of my spells and got "invalid target"! How can i loot these guys? I am NOT a rogue! lol

Unmount to loot as other posts said.

It got fized and doesn't bug anymore.
You can loot them even with AutoLoot turned on.

To make it easy, you can Track Humanoids to see the Deceased Bogpaddle Privateer corpse ;)

I've done some pretty dispicable things for money since Level 1, even for a rogue.

But I don't think I ever picked the last possessions off of cold, waterlogged corpses of shipwreck passengers.

really bad quest, now that they implemented desperation lost players (cross realm zoning)...huge bottle neck...best to avoid..or wait hours to do a 30 second job in collecting those bags

No, the bag is on those dead laying on the sand and in the water, not on those newly killed!

Be sure to keep that you can get from Trade Baron Silversnap, located in Bogpaddle.
This will make the quest much easier.

Most times I get to this quest on an alt, there are 10 people standing around for a long time trying to loot these things. I would suggest saving yourself some time and skip this quest, and just head to the next chain starting here: Marshfin Madness

theyre tough to see due to the dark nature of swamp water, but most of them are floating right below the surface if you face the shore and get a wide view you can see tons of them floating around in the shallow part of the water.

probably one of the most annoying quests out there.. mostly due to the slow respawn on these bogpaddle guys and the high number of people doing this quest at the same time.. thanks to the cross realm garbage you never seem to run out of extreme compitition.. and the mobs in the area spawn quite quickly on top of that and so between them and other players it takes a while to get one loot.. the a target macro helps a lot here.. but due to the sheer annoyance this quest brings i say if you can pass it by i would reccomend doing so to avoid frustraition..

Absolutely horrible re-spawning on the boides, and CRZ makes this quest ridiculous. Logged a bug against the slow re-spawn with Blizzard.

Horrible bottleneck of a quest as others have stated. Small number of possible targets combined with a rather long respawn in a cross realm zone makes it take much longer than it should to complete that quest.

I doubt it will ever get fixed but I'd very much appreciate being surprised the next time I level a character.

There are also bags in the water on the ocean floor you can pick up. You don't have to wait for the mob respawns to finish this quest.

In 7.0.3 these are outside the quest zone marked on your map, they're just off the coast from where the mob camp is.

I think there is a bug in 7.0.3 patch where you click the goblins and it says "There is no loot".

Description

Any shipping crew I had that you don't see hanging around this camp are DEAD! Those were some fine goblins, but what's worse is they're all still out there! It's a TRAGEDY!

I mean, it's a tragedy they still have all their stuff! It's horrifying to think of all the perfectly good materials and coins sitting out there in the water.

Hey! You can do me a favor! If you're killing gilblins out there, go get the ditty bags off my old crewmen!

C'mon, they're not gonna need it anymore! Be real!
