22,63 as shown on the map. Shield, in the kitchen, libram upstairs in the fireplace. Talk to the guy and get the book as the quest says.

The shield is on the first floor of the building in The Maris Stead, and the libram is upstairs in the fireplace.

(Until I moved to the right spot, it looked like the wall was sparkling!)

When you pick up the book, 2 hounds will appear attack you.

The information in Extended Annals of Darrowshire is incorrect (outdated) at this moment. The information herein tells of old locations, for example Redpath's Shield would be in Gahrron's Withering in the Western Plaguelands; well, it isn't anymore (it's at 22,68 in EPL). It's a nice read though, but for quest pointers, just use your map.

I even thought: "Hey Blizz still kept a quest which would let you cross zone lines for a change!". Well, I was wrong and it feels a bit sad, it was nice to travel and see the world searching for items. Ah well... nostalgia.

Just to note on my map the ingame "quest helper" puts the
location of the items in the tower next to Chromie the questgiver.
This of course is wrong. Just wondering if anyone else had
this problem?

Talk to redpath in Crown Guard tower he'll give you the annals
Go to the Marris Stead then directly in from the doorway you'll see the sheild
Go up the stairs inside the Marris Stead and look left, inside the fireplace you'll find the book
on your way out two brighthound dogs will come at you, they're pretty damn easy to take down but I crapped myself when they randomly attacked me out of nowhere.

How?

When you loot Davil's Libram on the upper floor of the house, two Blighthounds spawn. Each of them yields experience (depending on your level, of course), loot and can be skinned. The trick is simple : loot the Libram, delete it, then kill the two dogs. Reloot the libram, rinse repeat.

It has been a seriously fast way to gather skins so far, especially with two people when one opens the Libram and the other loots and skins.

Evidently, the book has become a popular place for some shady characters to bot. Whether this is a cause or not I don't know, but I know I was unable to properly loot the book for the quest and there was a character there "farming" it in a manner that was most definitely bot-like.

I contacted a GM, however, and they said that it's an issue with the quest that stops the book being lootable. I'm aware that a GM's word is usually worth the paper it's printed on (get it?), but I'm wondering whether it's actually an issue with the quest, or whether this is some sort of anti-bot measure to keep people from farming the dogs that spawn (it's worth noting, I think, that nothing actually spawned when the "bot" looted the book - though they spawned every time I did, which was at least 10 times in total).

Just something to keep in mind: If you see someone else in the area, odds are you won't be able to grab the book. At least not for now.

Just ran into a bug with this quest - couldn't pick up the items from the ground. After poking at it a little bit, found a workaround is to kill and loot something, then the quest will let you pick up the items. (Quest wouldn't let us pick up the items even with no addons loaded, so it's a game bug, not a addon interaction bug...)

When I did this quest today, I did not run into any bugs. Pretty straightforward.

For the Extended Anals, just go in the Crown Guard Tower by Chromie (questgiver) and speak with Carlin Redpath - has has this item.

For Redpath's Shield, go into the house at Marris Stead - the shield is on the floor directly in front of you.

For Davil's Libram, in the same house at Marris Stead, go upstairs. The Libram is in the fireplace in the room to your left. And yes, two dogs jump out when you pick up Davil's Libram. I did not find them hard to kill, but they do appear quickly, so be prepared.

Obtain the Extended Annals of Darrowshire from Carlin Redpath, and obtain Davil's Libram and Redpath's Shield from the Marris Stead.

Description

The heroes of Darrowshire held relics of their own, and inside of those relics lie more precious memories.

First, speak with Carlin and obtain the Extended Annals of Darrowshire. Within the tome lies the narrative that will drive our excursion through time.

Then, you will need to head west to the Marris Stead. The former owner of the Marris farmhouse collected relics from the battle of Darrowshire - for what reason, I am not certain.

Gather these relics, and return to me.
