Don't be confused after explosion and knockback. 3 hammerheads + 2 remoras is good recipe. Just mix it and you will create . Then just go back to questgiver and talk to him

Has anybody given a thought to the actually story of the quest? He's making bio-friendly fuel to save sea creatures - from dead sea creatures :P

Fiasco will actually tell you how to solve the quest, only if you read his comments carefully after giving him an example through deductive reasoning. Here is what I did - for the first sample, I went with 2 Hammerhead, 2 Remora and a single dosage of Terrapin and turned it in.

Fiasco Sizzlegrin says: We're getting close... but it's still a little too smoky. Don't put in any terrapin oil next time. <cough> Too much smoke. Give it another shot!

I left it out completely, and went with 3 remora and 2 hammerhead for the next sample.

Fiasco Sizzlegrin says: Yes, this will definitely burn too hot. Do you want to blow up the ship? Cut back on remora oil next time.

I decreased the dosage of remora by 1 while increasing hammerhead by 1 for 3 hammerhead and 2 remora oil samples.

Fiasco Sizzlegrin says: This is it! The perfect bio-fuel! Good work, <name>!

Which is a combination of 3 Hammerhead and 2 Remora. You'll know if you got the right combination if the end result is called Promising Fuel Sample.

I am not sure what Fiasco will say if you use too much Hammerhead oil, though.

This quest bugged on me. I didn't get Mix Samples choice, so i abandoned it and started over, and it worked.

The mix is (order matters):
1. Remora Oil Sample =>2. Hammerhead Oil Sample =>3. Hammerhead Oil Sample =>4. Hammerhead Oil Sample =>5. Remora Oil Sample
You will ALWAYs get knocked down after mixing, don't worry, just go talk to Fiasco Sizzlegrin (the goblin) to have him check it. Your quest won't complete at the mixing table

You can create atomic fuel by 2xHammerhead and 3xRemora oil or 5xRemora :)

To complete the quest you must create the "promising fuel sample" which is created by mixing (as mentioned) 3 Hammerhead Oil Samples and 2 Remora Oil Samples.

Some other mixes which do NOT complete the quest:

5x Terrapin Oil = Billowing Fuel Sample
5x Remora Oil = Atomic Fuel Sample
5x Hammerhead Oil = Anemic Fuel Sample

These same types of fuel samples can also be created by various other combinations, none of them are good for anything. The quest giver will give you a clue about how to change the mix if you offer him one that doesn't work.

If anyone else is like me and can never find the entrance to the cavern for these turn ins, use this macro for TomTom:

/way Abyssal Depths 58.87 57.96 Tenebrous Cavern

If you don't have TomTom or another coord addon, the entrance is a little left and just down from the actual text for the cavern on the map.

Use the Fuel Sampling Station in Tenebrous Cavern to create the perfect bio-fuel.

Description

How much do you know about fuel, <name>? Constructing the perfect fuel is a tricky job, as there's plenty of factors to balance: chrono-pyroxidation parameters, tempero-incendiary variables, conflagrational siltification criteria... and that's only naming a few.

Hopefully the samples you brought me can be combined in the right proportions to create... the perfect bio-fuel. Use that table over there and try combining some samples! Bring the result to me when you're done.
