You need to kill Silty Oozelings Until the Dumpy Level drops.
The drop rate is rather low.

Very frustrating quest to say the least based on how low the drop rate is on these things. I killed over 20 of them and got nothing - I did manage to get the 15 fenberries I needed on another quest because this one is taking so long that I can keep going back to the same bushes I picked a few minutes earlier, so it's not all bad.

To be fair, I looked it up as well.

Well of course! It says right in the quest instructions, "Go look it up!" Anyone who didn't, failed to follow the instructions. ;)

That said, he lies. Not about the name, but he said one of the oozes took it. I killed all of them, and none of them had it. I eventually abandoned the quest. I suspect he pawned it off to buy ale and doesn't want to admit it...

Well, for sure as hell I won't farm 3 hours to get a bloody extremely low-drop rate item. I already did that for almost 30 min and no drop at all.

Who is the one who has the time to farm for a single very low level quest which, as pointed out above, leads to a piece of gear which in 5 levels most probably is vendored...

Not to mention that many of us have level 90 alts... I would definitely spend these hours gearing up or getting valor points or even trying to get a rare mount or a special achievement... but to kill legions of oozes for a poor drop... well, imo, that would justify the title "The Insane"

I killed around twenty of them and it dropped for me. I don't know if the drop rate has been upped from the earlier reports, or if this was just a function of the random generator being kind to me. Either way I'm glad, because there is no way I would farm these things for three hours.

I found the same issues as the previous comments, but here's an update: After 20 minutes of tirelessly farming those things, I decided to logout and login again; (The ol' reliable) and after a couple of extra killings, I got it.

This quest is long & arduous but it is definitely very doable. The object of the quest is a Dumpy Level. It's "Like a small spyglass, but covered in awful slime." I had to slay so many friendly Silty Oozelings while I was there & also some mean Slavering Oozes. Their name tag is red. The Slavering Oozes will spit Venom Splash & make the ground greenly acidic. They both mainly drop Slimy Ichor & Broken Weapon. It took me about 15-20 minutes after killing one after another of Silty Oozelings. The drop was at coordinates 54.6-74.2.

My Gnome Mage-Frost specialization (Level 20) was able to slay them each with a Frostbolt, Fire Blast, & Flurry. When they got too close, I'd use my Ice Barrier for protection.

Description

Alright, I need you to help me find my dumpy level.

What's that look for? That's right! I said my dumpy level! It's a piece of significant surveying equipment!

I didn't name the bloody thing, alright? Go look it up! All I did was leave it on a rock long enough for one of those horrible oozes to swallow it up. The place is crawling with 'em, but one of them should still have it inside.
