To get this quest you have to quest at Stardust Spire in Ashenvale until you get Do Yourself a Favor . Then pass through the archway going up into the mountains to get to the quest area.

Enter cannon, point and shoot wind rider, shoot slowly falling orc.

At first, I was killing the wind-riders and not getting credit for the kills. I was quite confused and thought this had to be an bug, obviously. So I restarted, reloaded, abandoned and reacquired the quest etc.

And then, I actually read the quest and found out you actually shoot the wind-riders and then get kill credit when you actually shoot the parachuting orc that drops out of the killed wind-rider.

The Wind riders move fast, but when you shoot em, the orcs fall slowly.

It might be helpful to note that if you go back to the questing area, don't take the path down into the valley.

Instead, take the path to the right of that one that goes UP into the mountains, there you will find the cannons and the NPC you turn the quest into after you have finished it.

It might also be worth a mention that the Warsong Commander orcs are actually Horde Faction. Thankfully using the cannon to take them out for the quest does not set your PVP, though I'm not sure about what using other methods might do.

Suck at Space Invaders (that is, shooting where they're going to be, rather than where they are) as much as I do? Here's a way to do this without cannons if you have ranged attack.

Fly (I don't think there's any way to climb up) over to 74:46. Without coords, that's right under the H in The Fold - it's the ledge to your left if you're in a cannon. Turn on PVP. The wind riders will fly close enough to you that you can attack them from the ledge. Once you kill the wind rider, just kill the orcs as they float down. If you run out, just sit and wait for them to respawn, it doesn't take too long.

I'm a level 100 priest finishing Loremaster, so it might be a lot more feasible to use the cannons if you're a decent level or a melee fighter.

What Kalen Trueshot asked the players to do is likely a war crime in real life, as it is against Article 42, Protocol I of the Geneva Conventions to attack "person parachuting from an aircraft in distress". Though one can argue Warsong Wing Commanders are airborne troops and thus not protected under the conventions.

You must attack the orc at least once before the oil canister blows up. Also attack oil canister to blow up orcs.

Description

The skies are swarming with heavily armored orcs on the backs of even more heavily armored wind riders. Our best efforts to bring them down have thus far proven fruitless. Our arrows usually just bounce off of those foul creatures. If we do happen to take one down the orcs deploy their goblin parachutes and safely land on the ground below.

I need you to use Gnombus's sniper cannons and blow up the Warsong wind riders and then blow up the parachuting orcs.

The only way down is in a body bag.
