Your buddies do decent damage but little threat. Be careful, though he didn't seem to hit me as hard as you'd expect a ? boss to.

I did this quest when I went back to Hyjal after I dinged 85 to grind rep. I didn't read the quest too carefully and just attacked the mob when I found him, without using the quest item. I then noticed that his health was 1115k rather than the 115k that I thought it was after a first brief glance. I got real nervous all of a sudden. . .

Turned out to be no problem and was able to solo as a hunter at 85 in ilevel 342 gear. Easy peasy.

The Horn is heavily affected by RNG. Sometimes it summons 3 druids, and sometimes it summons 8. It also seems random whether or not Goldrinn will spawn.

I've done this quest -- twice now on my pally, but I don't get the icon that's supposed to be by the map to complete it- am I missing something?

He is at 357K health now. As Level 85 DK, I attacked, called on my army, blew the horn and had tons of assistance. He went down fast.

I was starting to think - what kind of bad luck is this! I killed the mobs behind the boss and then did an exorcism on him before sounding the horn. then all these other characters showed up in his front and did battle. I had seen some other players in the area and so assumed they had just nudged me out in staking claim to the boss. He had come at me at first and then sun around to do the guys at the front before returning to and smoking me. So, I tried it again and the same friggin thing happened. I thought what layer of hell is this! Then it dawned on me the mobs that the horn summons must show up at the front. I'm going to try it again from that spot. But if I'm right on this - don't think you can gain a smidgen of advantage by starting out on him from the back.

Something I Missed Too? Did NOT Get Credit Ether? I Solo'ed Too As An 84 Rogue,. Used The Horn Before I Attacted The Gatekeeper? Like Some, After You Killed, There May Be Something A Person Needs To Click On Before One Could Get Credit? This Is Something I Need To Look For? HERE I GO AGAIN!

And after failing 3 times in a row, including shooting first , then blowing horn, I realized you must do the other 2 quests first that you picked up at the same time. The drake skull and killing the twilight retainers/augers. quests #7 and #8 of whiterocks post of the questline. This is quest #9. Makes sense, I just always pick up all quests and kill randomly. Bad Drewedd.

Description
