Epic Futurama reference is epic! (Bender, Curver, get it?)

Not in the information here yet, but will most likely be handed out by a npc whose name closely resembles or can be related to "Fry".

Also, seems like this might be the(or one of the) new Jewelcrafting daily(ies). If so, it also looks like we wont have to go tracking down other items for these dailies anymore. 3 /cheers!

Perfect timeless nightstones do NOT count for this quest.

Note that you'll have to perform 3 cuts yourself as well, so you can't just go and buy 3 timeless gems from the AH straight away.

Edit: You can't cut perfect gems for those gems that are used for the JC dailies now.

you don't find them, you cut them. nightstones can be found from mining or prospecting

All five jewelcrafting dailies in Cataclysm have references to the TV show Futurama (some references have already been noted, simply cross-posting on all five quests):

A Present for Lila - Reference to the starship captain Leela, who also has purple hair. Also, reference to the robot Bender (Curver) and his constant drinking. (thanks for this to tonydizzle) EDIT: Upon completion, you also get a reference to the fact that Leela is a cyclops.

Elemental Goo - Reference to Professor Farnsworth and all the crazy contraptions he comes up with.

Nibbler! No! - Reference to spaceship captain Leela's pet, who eats anything and poops out starship fuel in the form of dark matter - hence, the "leavings" comment (thanks, Fortunate)

Ogrezonians in the Mood - Reference to episode 3x05, "Amazon Women in the Mood", in which the Planet Express starship crashes on the planet of the Amazonians (large females) who are ruled by the mighty Femputer. The penalty for the intrusion for all male members of the crew is "death by snoo snoo".

The Latest Fashion! - Another reference to Professor Farnsworth and his experiments and potentially to the show itself (stardust sounding like something from space, etc.)

I can not get Jewelcrafting quests in Storwmind... Is there any other requirement, for instance minimum jewelcrafting skill?

This quest is starting to really get on my nerves. 4th time in a row now and I didn't have any nightstones to begin with due to making the chokers from leveling. Now I have to go spend an hour farming ore to get 3 nightstones to cut each time they give me this stupid quest. (uncut nightstones are 125g in the AH.) I have stacks of the other green gems and nothing to do with them.

It doesn't help knowing that I could be going around for 30 seconds making people sparkle for the same reward... or killing elementals in Hyjal that have been hotfixed to drop Goo 100%; like it wasn't easy enough already.

There was a lot of confusion on how to do this quest, so I hope this helps:

(As of 4.0.3, January 18 2011)

You can get the nightstone however you like, whether that's buying it off of the AH, or prospecting it, or whatever. You then cut the 3 nightstones into Timeless Nightstones using your JC profession. (It may seem obvious...but some people need that little "extra" help.)

Personally, I bought them off the AH just to see if it would work, and it does.

One thing to note:

You must stand infront of the quest bringer when cutting these gems or you will not get them marked as complete. I made this mistake the first time around.

No one had mentioned this, but I found I had to cut the gems one at a time. When I hit "Create 3" I did not receive credit for cutting any gems. When I went back and cut them one at a time, I got the credit. Anyone need any extra Timeless Nightstones? lol

Hopelessly basic info here, buuuuuut... forgetting you're in a raid group is a great way to waste a bunch of nightstones without getting credit for cutting them.

I don't know why people are having such a hard time out of these quest. I have done them all several times on my JC toon and never have I had any problems at all. I do wish though that they would allow you to do the JC daily in Stormwind the way they allow you to do the cooking and fishing. I think if they are going to have a level requirement they should either do it for all or make it to where all can do it.

Get a cheap stack of required raw gems, and just cut a few when you get this daily quest.

Remember that you need to cut them AFTER you get the quest - so only cut 3 after you take the quest.

lol Futurama, her friend Bonder (Bender) saw her gems and spiked her drink so he could steal them, but then when asked didn't see anything.

Description

I'm trying to impress this trade ship captain Lila. I've been working on a necklace to match her lovely purple hair, but the gems have gone missing! They were there when I was showing them off to my good friend Curver last evening. We were drinking moonshine and I blacked out - when I woke up the gems were gone! They must have been darn good thieves, because Curver didn't see anything.

Her ship is coming in tonight, and I really need three nightstones to get her present done. Help me out here!
