Just added a screenshot of talking to a game master about this - Going into Uldum before cata isnt allowed, and the boundry is JUST before the chest. Sucks >.>

So, they're assuming that anyone has the quest will be buying cataclysm? What about the people just getting the game and not having any expansions?

The new starter zones are definitely catering more towards that crowd but to have this quest suddenly port you away from your quest objective because it's in a cataclysm zone is kind of lame, especially because the relevent level of Tanaris isn't one where you need Cataclysm.

Blizzard really dropped the ball on this quest. Hoping they move the chest closer to Tanaris one day... I'll just keep this in my quest log only to complete it after I get cataclysm. It'll probably be gray by that point though.

it's not that there's a level requirement, you just have to have cata installed to get in. an oversight by the developers.

gah, i just hope i dont forget to do this quest once cata is out, i need to clear my log and make room for 25 dailies.lol, maybe they will hotfix it

If you are using a leveling guide like wow-pro, which I'm using, the tomtom takes you into Uldum...this is a no no. Uldum is level 84. To get to the quest, make sure your back is toward Andoren Dawnwise. Get on your mount and bear right. Head towards the building on your map that looks like two pillars...you will need to get past some Sandstone Golems. Then you get to the entrance...

A couple of things...there's a quest called the Crumbling Past. Get this quest before you go there. Otherwise, you end up going back and forth.

The quest is inside the building. Keep going until you see a table. Pick up quest to complete. There is a follow on quest immediately thereafter. Pick up quest. The Antechamber Guardian will appear immediately. Kill guardian and complete quest. Return to Andoren Dawnwise to turn in quests.

just an FYI, even after completing this quest, it still currently doesn't complete in Mists. Was doing it on my Monk and it still sits as a ? on the map, even though you complete. If you drop the completed quest, it doesn't give you the quest again. so it's still a bit buggy.

Opened chest and was attacked by the guardian, however, this did not complete the quest. The yellow question mark still shows on the chest on the mini-map, but not above the chest. Think this quest is broken.

if anyone is having an issue getting to the chest in patch 8.3 make sure u go to uldum and talk to zidormi to set uldum to past version

What a poorly constructed quest.

I can see the chest when I enter the room, but when I get near it, it disappears. Petition to move the "border" between Tanaris and Uldum just a few yards?

Anywho, talking to Zidormi in Uldum fixed it but ugHH,,,,
The whole one zone / two timelines stuff is just such a mess and it doesn't even make sense half the time!

Search the Antechamber of Uldum for an intact artifact.

Description

We are ready to enter the antechamber itself, <name>. This is a momentous occasion.

From the writings you've brought us, I believe these ruins were in fact once the grand entrance to Uldum itself. The quakes that ripped its doors open have probably collapsed the tunnels, but we may yet find amazing things hidden within.

Search the ruins for anything intact that may be studied. The thrill of discovery awaits!
