You can turn in this quest (without picking it up) by fishing up a Blacktip Shark during the Kalu'ak Fishing Derby.
You only get it if you're not the first to turn it in, aka win the Derby. Rewards a bag of fishing treasures.

Are there any reputation rewards for this? I've only heard rumours that this will also give a bit of reputation, and not just to the winner. Note that as of now, neither of the quests shows reputation gain on this site, but the winner does in fact get 5000.

The bag has no different drops then the daily but surprisingly i got my fishing pole the first time i did derby even tho after months of daily and getting nothing so im not sure if its a higher drop rate or not,i doubt it tho.

What is the lowest possible level you can do this quest.

Is wowhead correct when it says level 1?

It can be done with a Fishing Skill level of 1.
Character level CAN be Level 1, however should be appropriate for Northrend unless you want to repeatedly die from aggroing everything in sight, which is definitely going to affect your catch. Add to this the fact you will need to be summoned to Northrend to take part and, if lucky enough to catch anything let alone a shark, will need to be summoned to Dalaran to hand in for the win, assuming you are the first to hand in. You will also only be able to fish from pools reachable from land since you cannot ride nor fly nor use any kind of water walking potion.
Frankly, I see more corpse running than fishing at Level 1.

So would it be possible to do this at level 19 (go twinks) so you can gain exalted rep with The Kalu'ak?
Because if you could get a Mastercraft Kalu'ak Fishing Pole on a lvl 19 twink, it would own so hard.

I don't see why this was voted down. Yes the pole requires 300 fishing, but there is no level requirement for training any fishing levels that I can see.

I just completed this quest. It gives 150 Kalu'ak rep not 75 as shown above.
