Use the item in your inventory on Gorat's corpse (64,84) to spawn Gorat's ghost. Just follow Gorat's ghost towards the little island in the Fallen sky lake. No need to cross over to it as Gorat's ghost will shoot a flare onto the island exposing Captain Elendilad. He will turn hostile and leap over to the shore where you are and engage you in combat.

He is easily dispatched and you can complete the quest easily. Return to Kadrak to hand in the quest.

If you're looking at the lake there are two branches overhanging it - - go to the second branch and head south while /tar Gorat. You'll find him laying on a slight hill. 64.84

the body somewhere in (64,84). u will find several corpses the, gorat is an orc ;)

I found Gorat body is in middlle of circle Fallen Horde Assassin at 64.84 .After that his sprit will be guide u to small island on lake at 66.82 he shot from bow and Captain Elendiland appear after u do what horde is the best and quest is complete :) Hope is help some1.

Quest seems broken in that Gorat's ghost doesn't help you fight nor have any victory speech when you kill the nightelf. He just stands there.

WoW's quest locator points you to the spot where you'll fight Capt. Elendilad, you'll need to get back to Gorat's corpse first however.
After you use the blood on his corpse his ghost will move towards the location of Capt. Elendilad.

If your still having trouble, I can confirm the coordinates are (64, 84) if your standing right on top of him, which is a perfect south-west point from the lake about a centimetre or so away if your looking at the map. For those, like me, that have trouble with this, Gorat is the green NPC that is in the middle of the Fallen Horde Assassins. Use the Gorat's Imbued Blood while targeting his corpse which will cause a ghost to spawn. DO NOT MOUNT UP, but follow the ghost (Spirit of Gorat) to the lake and wait for him to summon Captain Elendilad. Kill the captain and you're done!

2nd branch near the lake is where you need to go, I put a Screen shot of the branch
(head south of that branch if your looking into the lake)

Just submitted a SS that shows where's he's laying.

If you stand in the middle of the island, look left - you'll see purpleish roots thats the right direction to walk. Keep walking like 10 seconds or so till you see a circle of fallen soldiers, with his body directly dab in the middle of them.

His body is at 64, 84 southwest of the little lake indicated by your WoW in game quest helper near a large group of dead bodies.

Body is at 64.2 84.5. Rez him using the vial and walk with him to the water's edge. He'll fire a flare arrow that will make the captain visible.

That little lake that he is near was covered up by the gold quest number on my map. Swim over it and west of the road that takes you to the Northern Barrens you'll find a small valley area. A bunch of Orc assassins are there. The one in the middle is Gorat.

Captain Elendilad's final words were "Curse you, Jumal vermin! This forest belongs to the Kaldorei..." Jumal is my pet cheetah. If this is a regular bug it could potentially have hilarious results.

As the current screenshot's are not very good and the marker location in game is nowhere near the actual NPC.

When Gorat's Spirit tells you to "follow closely", he means it! If you run ahead to the lake, you'll lose him, and have to wait on the 2 minute cool down of the vial of blood to start again.

Just did this on a priest alt, Note to self and others: always remember to never use Dominate Mind on Captain Elendilad otherwise he'll just respawn and you'll have to do the quest again..

The location that the in-game quest addon shows is the place where you fight Captain Elendilad and NOT where you find Gorat's body. Gorat's body is at 7 o' clock as you look at the small lake, confirmed coordinates 64,84. Then you got to follow Gorat's spirit next to the lake where he will call captain in order to kill him.

For people who don't have any coordinates, this is the best way I can describe it is this:

His body is southwest of the Fallen Sky Lake or south of the hill next that is next to Fallen Sky Lake if your looking at the map of Ashenvale. His body is in the middle of a circle of dead Fallen Horde Assassins (but it is a big circle). All the assassins are dead on the ground in various positions but he is on his back with his left arm on his stomach. When you get to his body, you just use the quest item "Gorat's Imbued Blood". His ghost should appear and lead you to the island in the middle of Fallen Sky Lake where you should be able to finish the quest.

The quest marker is incorrect.

At Gorat's Corpse, use Gorat's Imbued Blood and Gorat's Spirit will appear and lead you towards the island where Captain Elendilad will appear.

Precise Coordinates for TomTom / Paste users are below:

/way Ashenvale 64.15 84.51 Gorat's Corpse - use blood then follow him to island
/way Ashenvale 66.66 82.16 Captain Elendilad - spawns on island

I can confirm that the coordinates are indeed 64, 84 just south of the island.

Once you find him, its much easier. Just follow the ghost!

The fact that this weird follow quest has a cooldown of 2 minutes shows that the person who wrote it was way too confident in their skills.

It took me 8 minutes to do this quest because he kept despawning and not shooting the flare.

Gorat's corpse is at approximately 64.16, 84.50 Fallen Sky Lake in Ashenvale.
There will be a whole bunch of other bodies around him as well I was doing
this on a Mist of Pandaria 5.4.8 Server. I hope this helps everyone else out too!
