You have to stand at the very end of the Fallen Log on the beach to use the disguise.

The log is on the western side of River's Heart, the one that is diagonal, half in and half out of the water. Swim a bit into the water to get on top of it, you need to use the disguise at the top. Outside of the water.

As of build 9014 this quest seems bugged. He spawns then immediately despawns. I had my ghoul stay at his spawnpoint on agressive mode and he did not engage the NPC.

To be more precise, you need to get on top of the log (46, 63) and stand at the part that is outside the water, and is green. That makes sense, since you're disguising as a fern, you have to be on the green part of the log.

The moment you get into disguise, Bushwhacker will spawn and come up the log towards you.

You only have to be close to the log, not on top of it, behind it, infront of it... only close to it.

Patch 3.08 location change:

It was extremely picky for me today. I tried the locations mentioned in the thread, I tried all around the log. I was finally successful in the very middle of the surfaced portion of the log on top.

The log is directly across the lake from Tamara the NPC. Make sure you stand right next to the log as screenshot indicates.

You need to be stood at 46.3,63.4 (right up behind the log) before you can use your disguise.

The beast is known as Bushwhacker and the disguise she comes up with is a bush :D No wonder it "didn't work as intended". I really need to come up with some decent mockery about ship crashing after that.

As of today (2017-07-21), you need to stand half-way up the log in order to put on the disguise. I couldn't do it behind or at the tip of the log. It didn't work on the sides of the log either.

The exact point to use the disguise is /way 46.68, 63.48

The exact coordinate where I could use the quest item and get the Crocolisk to come are 46.28-63.38. I added a screenshot for more precision. The croco then comes out from the lake.

Bring Bushwhacker's Jaw to Debaar at the Nesingwary Base Camp.

Description

The largest crocolisk in the basin, known around here as "Bushwhacker" for his ambush prowess, likes to sun himself in the shallow waters of River's Heart. It's the large lake at the basin's center, and is to the east of our camp.

I want you to take the camouflage I've prepared and hide on the western beach of River's Heart and ambush Bushwhacker when he shows himself. Bring back his mighty jaws if you are able to overcome him.
