Ok... that's what i did:

I went to skettis.
I killed some Monstrous Kaliri (birds) for the Giant Kaliri Wing.
I killed Blackwind Warp Chaser for Warped Flesh.
I cooked 3xWarp Burger near a fire and then all of them using the Cooking Pot (u need fire for cooking pot too)

Note that the Giant Kaliri Wing is considered a quest item (as opposed to a cooking reagent), so it won't drop if you are in a raid or don't have the quest.

Pretty easy, so long as you don't aggro more than one bird at a time--they can be nasty in pairs.

My drop happened after the fifth bird.

Requires 275 cooking to use the cooking pot, and presumably to get the quest (my pally with 293 cooking could get the quest, my shammy with 125 couldn't).

The ingredient food itself requires higher levels of skill to cook, but it is quite possible to buy it or make it on another character, then get the quest ingredient & use the cooking pot on your less skilled character (I've been doing it this way on my pally).

if you go to skettis go on top of the middle island(terokk's rest) where there are some eggs....if u have a ranged wepon or spell...cast that. i got my wing at like the 3-4 time. it's better if you go to skettis because you can do your dailys.

by far the worse cooking quest. much easier to do the clefthooves or the mana berries. but i found the easiest way for me to get these birds is to fly right through them and land on the ground. but as a hunter, this not my favorite quest.

im glad that as a warlock i have powers like "curse of agony" and "searing pain" in can ensure that before i give this stupid gankbird to the goblin to be eaten, that it died a horrible death, serves it right.

For those like me who hit 70 before ever setting foot in Blade's Edge Mountains, Shadowmoon Valley, or Netherstorm...

Skettis is only accessible by flying mount...which, if you're also like me and do not have, seems that makes this quest impossible. ;.;

Persistent people plagued by the plight of - yeeeaah enough consonance there. People that are still doing the Outland cooking daily quests in hopes of getting that last recipe for The Outland Gourmet may want to start choosing the Barrel of Fish over the Crate of Meat now. Sure the drop rates for recipes like Stormchops seem to be more common in the Crate of Meat, but who is to say that was just biased towards people that wanted meat to cook over fish to cook for the buffs they respectively give.

Now why would I say that you should choose this one now? Well not only have I gotten recipes from this as living proof, but with the nerfed amount of gold these old school dailies do, getting the occasional Goldenscale Vendorfish out of the barrel has proven to make it more worthwhile than that of what you would get from the Crate of Meat, especially considering that the food that can be cooked from either container does not sell for nearly as much as it did back when BC was the current expansion. Just my two cents. :)

I'm giving up. Still trying to get the last recipe at lvl 77. Can't aggro the birds, cant shoot them down. Spent twenty minutes, managed to kill three and none dropped the wing. Another Blizzard blunder.

how do i get the quests from The Rokk? i have all the requirements, but i cant even talk with him, except to get the manalicious quest. I need to have any item 1st to get the quests?

This is the worst quest ever at level 80, you can't aggro them. The birds bug out if youre on the rope structures, so I recommend watching their patrols, and finding a cliff to tag them at ranged from when they patrol around.

But again, this SUCKS at 80. Avoid at all costs, unless you need the achievement, in which case, god help you.

I don't know if they changed the workings of the monstrous kaliri birds or not, but it seems fairly easy now to aggro them and safely hit the ground, then fight them. If nothing else works, just make sure you are over the lake and able to use one of your attacks on one nearby, then dismount, attack and land safely in the lake and finish them off. I was able to do this easily at lvl 71.

A good place to hunt for the birds is on the east side of the lake. Pick the platform with the ground access. I got two birds there in very short time for my wing, just shoot them and melee them. I had no problem keeping them aggroed. The bigest problem is range and the birds fly right by that platform.

I just started my cooking about a month and a half ago. I've done the Outland daily cooking quests every day since I hit around 275. It's been a month now and I have yet to even SEE this quest. I'm not sure what's going on but just acquiring it has been a huge pain in the rear!

At lvl 85 if you have an instant cast spell you can just fly near them and cast it. It will dismount you (assuming you have that option turned on the in the interface) and bring them to the ground... probably dead and you can loot them.

Now that there's 2 achievements for raw/uncooked fish looted/caught (The Limnologist The Oceanographer), the Barrel of Fish is what I usually choose in hopes of finding the elusive Goldenscale Vendorfish for The Limnologist + other fish from the barrel count toward these.

I picked the Barrel of Fish for my reward! ;) I didn't get the Delicious Chocolate Cake recipe yet but at least I got an Enormous Barbed Gill Trout from it which I can use to get my cooking skill up. The fish is good for the lvl 350 cooking recipe "Hot Buttered Trout"

* The Crate of Meat is extremely useful to pick! Inside are all of the meats that Rokk requires you to cook for his daily cooking quests in Shattrath. So instead of flying all over the place grinding out mobs, you can just pick the Crate of Meat and get Serpent Flesh, Warped Flesh, Raptor Ribs, Chilled Meat, Clefthoof Meat, etc.

* The Barrel of Fish is great if you are trying to get the achievement "The Outland Gourmet" because you need to get the recipe "Broiled Bloodfin" to complete it. You can only get that recipe from a random drop from the Barrel of Fish. The Barrel of Fish contains other useful fish to help raise your cooking skill (depending on what it's at).

CONCLUSION: Both are good choices and it all depends on what you need :P

* I finally got the Delicious Chocolate Cake Recipe today (Sept 30th, 2011). It was in the Barrel of Fish for me. :) I did this daily Dalaran quest 23 times before I got it... so don't give up!

Need 3 Warpburgers, & 1 wing. Would be nice if Blizz included the 'needed' amt of mats in the quest info.. correct me if Im wrong, though I dont see it listed, & "some" Warp Burgers is not a numerical value.. come-on Blizz.... FYI, the Warped Flesh for the Burgers Drop from WarpChasers at 63, 85 . The Kaliri Birds are found at 63, 75 circling in the air around the lake. A pain to hit, I flew w/ mount into them to get aggro & bring them down..

For those, like me, still doing this quest for one reason or another--

The information below is still accurate. I believe, though this is just a guess, that the drop rate on the Kaliri Wing has been increased since this quest was down often.

That said, chasing those damn birds down is a real pain since most of them can fly at least as fast as you.

I've found that chasing the birds inland, instead of the birds which fly around the central isle, is the best way to farm the wing. I prefer the spot 63, 82 because some of the birds in that area fly a lot slower and the serpents are right there.

Go to Skettis, land, and kill Monstrous Kaliri and warp stalkers until you have the Giant Kaliri Wing and 3x Warped Flesh. Open Cooking, build a fire, and create 3x Warp Burger.

If you don't have the recipe, go buy it from Innkeeper Grilka (Horde) or Supply Officer Mills (Alliance). Once you have the required items, click on the quest item (Cooking Pot) to make the stew, return to The Rokk and done!

You might have some difficulty obtaining the Giant Kaliri Wing for this quest. Through some trial and error, I have discovered that the birds flight patterns are not random but follow a pattern. Instead of chasing the birds all over the place, I found that if you stay on your mount at 22.2, 79.9 and wait, that a Kaliri bird will fly underneath the bridge. If you remain at that position just under the bridge a bird will fly into you and engage you in combat. Once this occurs you may then dismount, fall to the ground and battle the bird. (Also this technique works any time you aggro a bird. Just dismount, fall to the ground, and battle. If you try to fly to the ground the birds will not always follow. So remember just to dismount mid-air and drop.)

this is the single most annoying quest in all of WoW. they are too fast, they fly too high, when you actually manage to kill one the corpse sometimes drops out of sight, and the drop rate is abysmal

Not sure if it supposed to be this way but, I am able to pick up this quest but unable to cook the food since it says a skill level of 275 is required, even though skills have been squished to 70. This with level 1 cooking

for those still struggling, i have a solution. (if you have the tomtom addon, make a macro for this spot /way 63.3 79.9 Terorkkar Forest:Outland)

put the Fruit Basket toy on your hot bar, and target the closest Monstrous Kaliri flying around and use the Fruit Basket on it.

someone on here (don't remember the name unfortunately) pointed out a similar method for aggroing the birbs on Timeless Isle, to help you reach normally inaccessible areas. (like Garnia's area for example) and i thought to try it on these guys. i was able to aggro one and it flew to me, allowing me to down it. can't help with the drop rates, but at least you don't have to fly around aimlessly trying to aggro the sods (which can be extremely difficult if you're too high in level) so you can easily finish this quest off for whatever reason brings you here.

Genuinely not sure how everyone is struggling with this quest. Every single melee class has a way to tag stuff from ranged.

Fly to stonebreaker hold or allerian stronghold, buy the warp burger recipe from the innkeeper.
Fly to skettis. Kill Blackwind Warp Chasers until you have 3x warped meat.
Kill Monstrous Kaliri until the quest item drops. If you go to the platform at 61, 73 there are 3 birds that pat beside the platform with a fast respawn time, easy to tag.
Cook 3x warp burgers.
Use the cooking pot to combine those with the quest item.

Took about 10 minutes and most of that was just spent flying from Shattrath to Skettis and back.

Get the daily cooking quests from The Rokk at /way 61.6 15.8. Only 1 daily available at a time. Rewards the Crate of Meat or the Barrel of Fish. Auction House in Shattrath is at /way 51.2 26.9 if you need to buy any items.

Description

I'm providing the catering for some unusual party guests tonight. One of these fellows was flying around in Skettis and got knocked to the ground by a monstrous kaliri--his leg was broken badly.

They've requested something special for his get well party: Kaliri Stew.

I can loan you my cooking pot so you can whip up a batch of stew for me. The recipe itself is simple, but you'll need to get a giant kaliri wing and some cooked warp burgers.
