Not sure why, but on my demon hunter, I am able to vault and infernal leap my way very far away from the guy when he casts stinging swarm, to the point where the spell effect on my screen is visibly not touching me, yet I still was taking constant damage, seemingly unavoidable no matter how far away I went. I feel like this wasn't intentional and might be bugged, considering as a tank I hardly survived it.

Most likely currently bugged, dealing insane damage with his swarm no matter what I try (moving very far away / line of sight), on tier 8 his damage high enough to go through my Fortifying Brew and Touch of Karma in just 3 or 4 ticks.

Was able to solo him as a shadow priest in tier 8 currently bugged? version where you cant outrange the swarm.
Start of with dps cds and vamp embrace to heal through 1st.
Dispersion for 2nd.
Healthpot + Desperate Prayer and Brann Cd for 3rd.
After that your vamp should be up again and then dispersion.
With 590~ gear you should be able to kill him before the 6th swarm.

Solo'd as a 580 frost mage, first attempt i got destroyed by the swarm, second attempt I made sure to save my defensive cooldowns for the swarm and also used a health potion which is very useful

I thought he was extremely difficult on my first attempt where he wiped the floor with me with Stinging Swarm. Immediately came here and saw the other comment that said they managed their cooldowns to soak Stinging Swarm so I tried that.

Worked like a Charm.

Soloed as a 574 Ret Paladin. Used Divine Protection, Divine Shield and Word of Glory during swarms. My Brann is setup as Healer with Idol of the Earthmother and Amorphous Relic.

Solo'd him as a 590 discipline priest. A bit challenging but like everyone else is saying, if you pick the right relics for Brann and (most importantly) space out your CDs and use health pots, you can just barely squeak by a tier 8. Execute came in clutch.

Was able to solo him with a 575 fury warrior. CDs + Healer Bran made it barely possible.

At 545 warlock diff 7 delve to half hp max because of swarm take 100% my hp.
Diff 6 take 80% only.

As a warrior take the talent to reduce the Heroic Leap CD and you can out run each cast.

Was able to solo him today on Tier 8 as a 579 Demo warlock but only just BARELY.

Stinging swarm was doing about 1.2 million damage a tick, which means that without some sort of defensive cooldown this will flat out kill you. It can't be interrupted, the boss can't be CC'd at all to stop the cast, and it is an infinite range channel that can't be LOS'd.

I ran Brann as a healer and had to use health potions to live through the casts.

If it did just a little bit less damage, or if he had maybe 30 seconds more between channels of it I think it wouldn't be so rough. Some classes may have it easier or harder since not all defensive cooldowns are created equal.

Also had an issue were the impale animation and its actual hit detection would mismatch and hit me even though I am clearly out of the telegraphs.

Solo'd as DH tank ilvl 582, delve lvl 8 bountiful.

This fight revolves around surviving the Swarm. So tune your routine for that.

I could time my Fel Devastation for big health boost & heals, with Fiery Brand for dmg reduction, on every Swarm cast. This left me with Metamorphosis as an escape if I got unlucky.

Brann on healer, save the pots on the ground for the Swarm. Make sure you enter the Swarm fully topped up on health.

For any rogues struggling or low on revives here's what you can do regarding the broken swarm AoE:

-Tank the boss near the cliff and sprint out for the first aoe (can also shadowstep to the web cocoons if you have to)
-Cloak of Shadows the 2nd AoE and continue dpsing
-Sprint out again for the 3rd AoE

You can also use Vanish to drop aggro and let Brann tank for awhile while you get distance in prep for the next swarm

this fight was rough but as a BM hunter ilvl 583, everytime the swarm came out i just ran far away. i kept bran as healer as his pots also healed my pets but just far away and the swarm wont hit you . did it on a level 8

Hey all, we figured out with enough distance, you can avoid the swarm. tank him to one side, range stay far or near the tunnel out, melee and tank be prepared to jump over. With enough distance, you can definitely avoid the swarm entirely.

This guy is brooooke. Trying to do him on T8 with a BM hunter. Pet dies constantly to his hits, the swarm does so much damage and happens faster than my cooldowns come off their timers so its impossible to power through them.

If you wanna do this as an ele I did it at 588 tier 8 , after dying once I made brann heal but also took the talents Earth Shield>Elemental orbit>refreshing waves then Healing stream totem and the one i think helped the most Elemental Resistance. Everytime swarm comes up pop HST and cast a few heals, use bulwark or astral if you're low going into it.

Use feint during stinging swarm.
I know 90% of you forgot about this ability.

the only way I could beat him was by outranging that sting and changing Bran to healer as a demonology warlock

better pop your defensive CD /heals with the swarm, I tried to outrange that and sometimes it didn't work, and you may get trapped when he casts impale after if you are on the bridge.

if you don't have anything else you can try running but I wouldn't rely on it too much.
