Crucible was an absolute failure of a mini-raid.Edit, because mods desire it - It's been discussed to heck and back below, but the complete absence of melee FROM AN ENTIRE RAID is awful design. Perhaps I have my history wrong, but a mini-raid has never had this issue before. This is a growing trend with blizzard, effectively setting hard caps to the number of melee you can bring to a fight (Argus, Fetid, pre-nerf Mythraxx, Rastakhan, etc.). Look at all of BoD. Ranged caster cleave dominated. Now, immediately after, we get another raid where the same strong classes are present, but we've dropped all melee this time.
It does feel a lot worse than Trial of Valor did.
*Pretends to be shocked*
LUL i assumed it just says "warlocks" in this article, would've been easier :b

The design punishes melee so much so that guilds are opting to get only 1 DH as melee. If it weren't for that debuff you'd see a full range comp
So....Multi-target fights favor multi-targeting classes.o.0
All you crybabies acting like this is happening for the first time when its been happening ever since the first raid of Vanilla. Now youre crying because your class does 3% less damage than others and you still base everything off of the mythic WF race. Go play ESO.
CoS isn't a failure outright. Is Mythic overtuned? Yes. Is a vast majority currently pushing mythic CoS progression? No.Can you use a wide class spread in Heroic CoS and lower? Absolutely. The reason you see this spread of dps is that it allows the top guilds to utilize boss weaknesses against certain class play styles. If there are multiple targets why wouldn't you want multiple targeting classes if you're trying to get an early mythic kill. However, if it was a single boss shadow wouldn't be nearly as effective. It's the same with every raid has bosses where some classes out perform other classes and that's ok. That's why top guilds have several characters min maxed so they can swap on the fly depending on what the encounter needs.
