What it felt like to them is irrelevant. How it felt to me was fun, all that matters
D4 is pretty good, but it also didn't immediately hook me the way D1, 2 or 3 did. I struggled trying to stay motivated to get to level 20 over the beta weekend for the limited rewards and didn't even make it. I kept logging off to do M+ dungeons in WoW instead. I guess we'll see how the game feels at release and at max level. I am way way less excited about this game then I was about any previous Diablo releases.
How can I live until friday? How will I survive until June? I need more Diablo please <3
Yeah, couldn't care less about streamer reviews. Definitely not spending my time watching those videos when there could be some kind of text recap. Why do people make 10-20-30min videos anyway when most of their thoughts can be summarized in several paragraphs at best? Game was fun for me. Even if the endgame sucks, the story is enjoyable enough to be worth my money. Cutscenes are great, character customization is awesome. Skills might be a bit meh but the visuals are great and maybe paragon boards can add some complexity on top of simplified skill trees.
Wowhead is truly reaching new levels of gaming "journalism" laziness. First it was the reposting of reddit content, now it's a youtube playlist. What's next, reposting tweets from the D4 account? Just import the RSS feed from PC Gamer and call it a day! We don't need to visit this website for copy paste fluff, we can very well get our info straight from the sources, we are already subbed on youtube and on reddit and nobody wants to hear/read the same thing twice.
YouTube videos. Lol.
No offense meant to any of the reviews and I did watch almost all off them,but....this is just matter of opinion pieces. Some had positives and some had negatives. Sadly very few offered actual suggestions or ideas outside comparing it to other games. It's all a matter of perspective and it seems most did not even look at what actual end game systems will be in place at launch, not including what is also coming with the launch of the first season. All the beta does is give you a taste of combat, classes, quests and standard dungeons with exploration. Do yourself a favor, even if you watch the reviews, go and look at everything that's actually coming on launch and don't base opinions on what others think about a beta because everyone has their own view of what they enjoy. Btw despite it being beta, I enjoyed it but I also knew what to expect and also what is coming so playing with some of the simple things in the beta made my excitement far better knowing what's in store
I got bored with it, and then it became easy to cancel my reservation for Diablo IV.
I generally liked the beta and will continue to check out Druid and Necro next weekend. My takeaways:Pro: - I found every class enjoyable to play (although Barb was slightly behind until I equipped him with 2 lvl 35 maces from that one elite, possibly due to not having access to the class quest).- I didn't encounter any major bugs, there are some exploits though (see point above).Neutral:- Gameplay seems closer to Diablo Immortal than any of the other predecessors.- Some side quests are hard to find unless you know exactly where to look (especially if they are random monster drops; I only found the one to farm werewolves once).Negative:- Some mobs, especially bosses, are quite bullet spongey, even on the lowest difficulty.- Loot is weird. Items drop at half the character level most of the time, transferring them to alts suddenly makes them go completely insane. Legendaries feel meh, due to random bonuses.- Server problems. The infamous login queue was gone after the first evening, but I always had random disconnects, rubberbanding (especially when walking from one area into another) and sometimes I got imprisoned in an area, surrounded by invisible walls, and couldn't leave anymore until relogging.- Optimization is still wip.
@author, probably a good idea to also link mathil's video
My experience was that unfortunately D4 will be VASTLY different to people depending on the choices they make when selecting classes.Barbarians were PAINFUL, SLOW, and quite honestly UNFUN and sort of soured the experience of the rest of the game. They could probably scale different at max, but it was rough. In turn, Sorcerer has been the most FUN I have had in a Diablo game in the last 10 years. It was absurdly powerful, and 99% of the frustrations behind Barb were made completely TRIVIAL as a sorcerer. Is it a matter of balancing the numbers? Perhaps... IMO Melee currently is YIKES gameplay, especially when 9/10 mobs AI are designed to run away from you or employ heavy CC tactics making it very painful to effectively progress. As a Sorcerer, Auto-Aim (Chain Lightining) - Smart AI (via Hydras) that fight for you while you run around dramatically affect the enjoyment of the game. We'll see how the next round of classes do.
It was awesome and im already missing it.Gameplay was classic, same as the UI/style but with nice graphics.9/10 fun.
game felt nice for ME, thats what I felt after beta testing + gave feedbackwhat for are these clowns again ?i will make sure to not click or hear any of their opinion
well tbh it was nice game but it's not D2 or D3, it's D4.I kinda like it.But some cons:- wtf 4 legendaries drop on a world boss? Is it dog%^&* d3 loot system again? Please not!- i kinda dislike big CDs in ARPG, 5-10 sec is ok, but 30-90 secs are mehh(but is' personal)- legendaries doesn't feel legendary xD ( we need some rly good stuff as Shako or griffon's etc. from d2, or even witch hour from d3 at the start of the game)
Man it's funny how much the commenters on wowhead have a hate boner for streamers. Probably just jealousy because of how much more they make than them while doing something they love but it's still funny. Opinion of these people does matter, like it or not they have huge influence on the community. Asmongold is the biggest reason behind the boom of final fantasy back in 2021. What these people say will determine how long, if at all, the game will be alive for.
