This quest is super bugged.
This writeup is inaccurate. The quest comes from the NPC Clarion Song at 50.8 33.8 in the glitterfall basin. Take the quest from Clarion Song, talk to him to get his buff, then go look around for Renny. Catch him a few times, beat up the boss then turn in. Fly to the Heart of the Forest area and Renny should run up to you with a quest. if he doesnt show, log out then in again and he should pop up.

I don't think Renny offers a quest, an NPC (one of the Fae) offers it and gives you a brief buff.Didn't glitch or bug out when I did it the other day, considering so many quests are buggy - you never know if you're doing them wrong or is it a bug? Must play with WoWhead open this xpac and yeah to all the player comments on "how to" do them. Otherwise pretty simple and interesting. Cute pet, do wish the rainbow stuck around but otherwise nice battle pet quest.
What's cool about Renny is Uncanny Luck into Prowl into Blinkstrike/Bite combo. With beast passive activated while you stack buffs it might kill something, might be a decent OTK vs flying or critters like what Iron Star does against all beasts.
Honestly, I am a bit surprised that this post does not mention that the quest is bugged. This is a known issue in the support FAQ where it states that the quest is not working as intended. Some folks may be able to do it, but some like myself will not be able to interact with him. This is being worked on, so it is suggested that you wait until the fix to try the quest.
During questing in that spot i got the quest while doing quests for Clarion. Seemed fine at the time, so i wonder what's wrong with it. (the write-up seems wrong)
This quest is the ultimate game raid boss. Bugged beyond belief. I'm really hoping it gets sorted soon. Many a tickets have been sent and still no change.
