Fears realized, this is what I thought would happen when Blizzard removed tier sets. It'd also be extremely stupid to have Zul as a mythic only boss, he's the antagonist of the Zandalari and he's turned into a mythic only boss? Hopefully it's just an error with datamining.
Doesn't look good enough for a raid tier set, however I still think they are going in the right direction taking it to raid / lore themes rather than class. How many bosses can there be with a set of glowing armor made to suit paladins locked in their treasure chest? I think theming it to raids and lore makes sense and gives a lot of scope for interesting designs. A shame that they don't seem to have capitalised on that fully here.
Honestly, you complainers are so typical and boring. For the love of god, this game has a huge void of actual functional looking, detailed armor sets, and this one totally fits that and while still having the troll vibe looks very much like something a hunter or shaman would wear. Whereas sparkly, spikey plastic looking sets with skulls and animal parts and lighting coming off of it might look cool if you're some 12 year old dip@#$% kid that wouldn't last 5 minutes playing a table top rbg, this is definitely going to be more attractive to the majority of players who don't want to look like they're dressed as a mascot for a Las Vegas casino or some *!@#.The vast majority of class specific tier gear in this game has looked incredibly cartoonish or downright ugly and unwearable (see Dragonstalker, Saurok Stalker, Gronnstalker etc) unless your character is a specific race. This is definitely not ugly and definitely does not look like quest gear at all, yes it looks like armor and it should because it's armor, but it doesn't look generic anymore than Trial of Valor sets looked. What it looks like is a highly detailed set that is not class specific and actually functions, and that is themed to the raid it drops from. Now it's also not very exciting either, but this is not even the raid tier yet, this is the Highmaul of the expansion. As said at Blizzcon every raid will have a set for each armor type, and it will be themed to the raid instead of to the class.Me personally...I need to see how this looks on other races before I'm sold, but on the human model I would say outside of the helm this is one of the best looking mail sets ever in the game. Now I can actually look like a ranger instead of like some neon dragon clown or some stupid #$%^. Especially dig the detailing on the gloves and boots and the chain mail underarmor look on the legs and chest. Will probably look especially fabulous on a Zandalari. And hey by the way complainers, I know you're stupid and half blind but this is not generic armor, it is troll themed armor. Thank the gods it also looks like functional armor as opposed to the before mentioned neon dragon clown suits and such. Might actually be among the first sets in the game that actually look half way decent on every race! Now the mythic version has a little bit less of a ranger vibe and more of a magic kinda vibe to it, and that's going to be great for Shamans. But the complainers? Seriously zip it. Most of us totally don't care, Blizzard definitely does not care. If you don't like it enough that it makes you want to leave the game please just leave so we don't have to see your whiny garbage posts anymore.Seriously do you guys have any idea how many old sets aren't even complete? A lot of them do not even have matching boots and belts to go with them, almost all of them lack matching cloaks. This is not only far more detailed than previous armor sets we have seen, we can be assured that we're not going to end up with a fiasco where the Mythic version does not include matching boots or some other issue.Keep your clown suits, I'll take my complete, detailed, functional looking armor sets. Can't wait to see the others!
I like the general style, but the helmets are plain ugly and either the shoulders or belt could use some work to make the set more interesting.
They seem to mimic this corrupted Titan thingy in one of the 3 leveling zones with this set, but I really think at least the trollish leveling gear from that zone is far nicer looking than this one.... It IS ofc my own humble opinion :)
Oh dear.My worries about this expansion have just gone up a few points.I like 'normal' looking gear. Not the over the top stuff we usually get stuck with. BUT the gear has to look good. This set looks absolutely horrible. That is not going to get me to run raids.I was thinking about this recently and it seems more and more that BfA is going to be an expansion where I'm going to play for a bit and then cancel my sub again and just wait a year or so and come back to some more content. Legion had huge staying power for me, but BfA seems to do a lot of things wrong imo.
I like the sets and i like it, that they base the sets on the armor the enemies we kill use. That is way better compared to most old designs for class sets, which came out of nowhere and often time looked very weird. To this day, i didn't use a lot of class sets. Most i never wanted except for the stats, but because of the looks. So i like the current philosophy better. What i wouldn't like is, if they go from for example three different plate sets for the classes with for different colours each, to only one plate set with four different colours, that, in my opinion, would be lazy and it wouldn't send a good message in my opinion. At least they could two plate sets. Same goes for the other armor types of course. What we should remember though, we get quite a bunch of armor sets from Warfronts this expansion too. So there is some choice and diversity. And so far i like quite a bit of these Warfront armor sets. I like it, that they're based on certain faction or races especially, like the Arathi Sets are especially fitting for Orcs and Humans. I think the Blizzard employee's have a much easier time to create good looking sets, as long as they have a basis which they can use. Like the Orcs as a race, or the Humans, or the Titans, or the Burning Legion or the Kul Tirans or the Zandalari etc etc.
I like this armor, lookes nice, people seems to forget one thing, 1st raid tier in past few expansions hasn't dropped ANY original armors, all what dropped from them were some pieces of tier from 2nd raid, so 4 new models + tints is actually step up, assuming of course that they will go back to 1 model per class after this raid.
I kinda like it, especially the Mythic Variant. TBH couple of past tiers were hit or miss for me... would be cool for Shamans to at least have some kilt variants, if they wanted, but other than that..? It looks functional, armor that looks like an armor in WoW, which is a rare sight. ;)
"Oh! You've redecorated! :DI don't like it! :("
This is what happens when you try to adapt one armor set to up to 4 completely different classes...boring, bland, and undefined design. Awful idea Blizzard.
I like simple and plain. More life-like armor please. For the fantasy absurd we already got too many sets.
Not really sure how I feel about this. I remember when this was discussed about having "raid-themed" armor sets, and I was worried that we would lose out on each class not having their own set. I was expecting something like they did in Firelands, where every class has a raid-themed class set.Looking on this now, I am disappointed that there will only be sets for each armor category. The only one I like out of any of these is the Mythic version, only because it seems to be the only set that 1) looks like it comes from a Titan raid, 2) the coloration. I think the Mythic set would look good on a shaman, particularly Zandalari if they can be shamans (I can't remember if they can, so feel free to correct me if I'm wrong), but that's about it.I am pretty worried about what us paladins will be getting for plate. As much as I've fallen in love with T21 HC's black and gold color scheme, something I've been wanting since forever, I wanted to see what other cool and awesome class-themed sets Blizz can put out now that we have extra 3D components to gear slots, as well as the updated recommended requirements to run BfA.
Wow that is a really bad looking armor. Seems like Blizzard just doesnt want to put too much effort on gear appearance anymore. I mean isn't it enough that they remove the whole representation of each class gear?If they are going for only the gear type armor then they really need to step up their game..
