"Anyone got some weed killer?"
This is a fight that should be finished as quickly as possible to avoid being overrun by too many adds. Witherbark summons Unchecked Growth, a large brown mess of vines which you should not stand on. After a while, he will gain Brittle Bark, increasing his damage taken and pacifying him for a while. Aqueous Orbs will float from the pond toward him. If the orbs touch the Unchecked Growth, they will turn into lashers and attack you. After 4 orbs reach Witherbark, he will resume attacking and take normal damage.
If you take more than 2 phases of Brittle Bark to kill him, too many Unchecked Growths will up and attacking you. Burn Bloodlust and other cooldowns during his first phase of Brittle Bark to reduce his health as much as possible when there aren't many Unchecked Growths attacking.

This was fairly easy to solo as a death knight on mythic, and has been done on Challenge Mode as well. Stand near the ledge on the opposite side from the water, and place all the Unchecked Growth in a small area there. When Witherbark reaches ~17-20 energy, move him slightly away towards the water for Brittle Bark, and focus all your damage (particularly from Breath of Sindragosa) into this phase.

One or even two lasher spawns can be handled without too much of an issue (and even shorten the fight considerably if they happen during Brittle Bark), but any more requires kiting and becomes very messy. Chillblains is recommended to help with lashers.

The fight took me around 5 minutes 30 seconds. Of course, if you have more gear (I was ilevel 700 with 2600 multistrike), you can handle more lasher spawns and so can expect a much faster kill, as well.

Overview – Witherbark grows increasingly dehydrated as he attacks the group, consuming his stores of Aqueous Energy. When his Energy is depleted, he roots himself in the soil and calls globules of water from the nearby lake to restore his vitality. Players may destroy those Globules before they reach him to prolong this phase.
- Damage Dealers –
  Lead [Unchecked Growth] away from your allies.
  Destroy Aqueous Globules before they can reach Witherbark.
- Healers –
  Lead [Unchecked Growth] away from your allies.
  [Aqueous Burst] inflicts damage to all party members when a globule is killed.
- Tanks –
  Face Witherbark away from players during [Parched Gasp].
  Position Witherbark so that Aqueous Globules are unlikely to pass over [Unchecked Growth].
  Be prepared to pick up and tank any [Unchecked Growth] that animate.
Brittle Bark – Witherbark's bark dries and becomes brittle, stunning him and increasing his damage taken by 100%.
This effect is removed when Witherbark reaches 100 Aqueous Energy.
Parched Gasp – Unleash a torrent of unbridled natural energy, inflicting 3603908 Nature damage to enemies in a cone in front of Witherbark.
Unchecked Growth – Create a viney growth that pursues a player. Upon reaching that player, the growth erupts and emits poisonous vapors that inflict 900977 Nature damage every 1 sec to players within.
In Heroic difficulty, Witherbark can continue to cast Unchecked Growth even while affected by Brittle Bark.
- Unchecked Growth – When touched by the life giving power of an Aqueous Globule, the Unchecked Growth uproots itself and attacks nearby players.
Agitated Water – The enchanted waters of the nearby lake bubble and churn launching a bolt of water at a player's location. Upon impact, the bolt inflicts 1351466 Frost damage to all players within 3 yards.

Aqueous Globules

Spheres of pure water form from the nearby lake and move in a line towards Witherbark. Each Aqueous Globule that reaches Witherbark restores 25 Energy.

Aqueous Burst – Upon reaching zero health, the Aqueous Globule erupts and inflicts 810879 Frost damage to all players.
