Loa Speaker seems to have many spawn points; however, today I found him at 51.9 38.6
in the Beast Pens on Isle of Thunder. He spawned on me and killed me about two minutes after I killed him while I was making my original post for this quest.

I pulled him on my hunter - he leaped through the air and one-shotted me. How?

Went back determined to kill him. This time, mis-directed on to my pet. He feared me, and while i was standing there in terror, stomped on me - one shot. Ouch...

Soloing him as a hunter. I have found after 3 deaths, that the key is to get in melee range and STAY in melee range.. take out his mount first.. then him.. do your normal pet healing, and dps etc. as usual, just stay in melee, and he won't one-two hit kill you, for he doesn't do that leap that slaughters those at a distance. I hope this helps.

I walked up on this guy riding a Loa-Infused Bladetalon. Died several times with a friend. I came here to read up on the fight and didn't see anything about him riding a Bladetalon.

The Bladetalon will fear you with Intimidating Shout and then Pounce you when you get out of range. He also has the buff Loa of Ferocity which the Loa Speaker gives him, which makes the whole fight even more of a pain.

We ended up clearing the tent he was pacing next to and pulling him in there. We figured the fear had a chance to fear us into a corner instead of far enough to get pounced. Unfortunately, I got feared first...right out the front of the tent. After 4 deaths outside, we downed him the first time pulling him into the tent. The Loa Speaker has healing touch, but that fear with pounce is brutal. Burn the the Bladetalon down first...or better yet, look around to see if you can find a Loa Speaker that doesn't have a beast nearby!

As a shadow priest, the trick to this mob was to target his mount, pull, and then instantly hit Dispersion - the 90% damage reduction left me barely touched by the Loa-Infused Bladetalon's Pounce ability. Then stay in melee range and kill the raptor first; the Loa Speaker wasn't much of a battle after his mount went down. Whatever you do, stay close.

Edit: Not all of these mobs are on dino mounts. Found one at 50.0 44.2 that was surrounded by three Loa-Infused Compy, which aren't nearly as much trouble as the Bladetalon.

For ranged DPS, if he spawns near the tent, walking in a circle around the small clearing at (53, 42), you can simply go around behind the tent, up the stairs, and stand on the top of the wall and attack him directly. His mount will evade and just stand there while he periodically casts healing touch. If you take too long to kill him, he'll very briefly evade back to full health though.

Of note to mages, he can't be CC'd, so no polymorphing him or his mount to take on one at a time. Also, if fought elsewhere, pulling and immediately ice blocking can negate the first pounce, then it's up to you to stay in melee range. Cold snap can give you another ice block if you get feared out of range, and cauterize can also help. You can also start the fight by casting Greater Invisibility and pulling, using the 90% damage reduction to largely negate the first pounce. Temporal shield is also effective if you don't get one shot.
