I could be mistaken, and I was somewhat skeptical when this character first appeared, but after seeing Pazo Stonehoof himself appear in the Warlords of Draenor Tanaan Jungle quests later, I do believe this character is a reference to a player character that is in the guild the Drunken Monkey Brewery on the server Earthen Ring (US).

The character's name was Rukra, a female orc warrior that looked exactly the same as this NPC. I believe her honor rank was also stone guard, even. In fact, I would not be surprised if the armor and weapon choices themselves were also representative of the player character I believe this is based on, given their origins in the classic pre-TBC World of Warcraft.

(However, I don't believe the actual character has been active since early Cataclysm. Whether she plays a different character or have outright quit or something else entirely, I do not know. The guild itself, however, remains active to this day, and she still remains in it!)

Not the full context behind this, and it might yet still be a coincidence... but since no one ever found that link, I thought I would offer the very real possibility of it being more than a mere coincidence! I'm sure there are plenty of other characters like this in World of Warcraft, too... I wonder how many others remain yet undiscovered?
