Learned from Hollow Reed which is a rare drop of Nalash Verdantis, who is a rare spawn elite himself.

The Aqua Strider has a very high Speed stat, although low power to compensate. It'll be a good support member early on, being able to set up a crowd control and heal itself.
At later levels it can learn a DoT, a 25% damage buff/minor heal and a powerful water attack, so it can hold its own in a battle.

Sadly, this little guy isn't the greatest for battling. I have him leveled to 19, trying to hit that 20 mark. He is dying to wild pets that are level 17. His heal is alright, at best. Most other pets hit as hard as the heal, so it's kind of counter-productive. Poison Spit is nice, but still doesn't do much for damage. His other main attack, Water Jet, doesn't do much either. I have him in group with my Nether Faerie Dragon for the Moonfire, but it still isn't enough to make him worth it. He comes with a lot of switching in and out of battle.

I absolutely adore this guy, but it's been very difficult to level him up this high. I still plan on finishing his grind, but he probably won't make it for one of my main battling groups at max level.

Edit: I hit level 20 and he's like a whole new pet! Pump is amazing! If you can be patient, he is becomes a solid teammate.

This pet can be caged and sold on the auction house even though the item you learn it from (Hollow Reed) is bind on pickup.

This little guy is fast -- very few pets have a higher natural speed (Cheeta Cub, Sapphire Cub... not much else I can think of). It will even go before many flying-types, though having its low-hp body out against a flyer seems like a bad idea. Unfortunatley, it doesn't get much out of the fact that it will go first, and its low power means both its damage and healing effects are weaker than they could be.

At first, pump looks essential, but I want to actually put in a good word for soothe in PvP: Soothe, Cleansing Rain, and then swap out for something else (Like a Scourged Whelpling, say)

Small wonder a lot of players are trying to bring down Nalash Verdantis... the rare drop Aqua Strider in S/S breed is the 4th fastest battle pet in the game (as late as Patch 6.1.2) and furthermore, of the three faster and the only other pet with matching speed, NONE of them have Health as high as the S/S Aqua Strider. This is a long grind. Took 12 attempts to get the hollow reed to drop. Average respawn time was over an hour.
