Hes a lot easier with a primary range or caster. The orbs are a huge threat and NEED to be delt with as soon as you can. A Hunter is a big help when I asked to attack the orbs an really changed the battle dramatically. If theres a caster get them to focus on the orbs he sends out an You will have a much easier time.

I agree, it is pretty much required to kill the orbs that spawn.

Another thing that will make it easier is Meditate. I could not find it, and I am not sure if it is because of my addons or not. Could someone tell me where to find this please.

Taran Zhu's kung-fu is strong. Taran defeated us ten times until we learned the Flying Wowhead Kick. Here is how to give Taran the Flying Wowhead Kick:

1. The tank pulls Taran away from the pillars, so dps has an easier time targeting orbs. Once Taran is out of the pillars, the tank stays in one spot. Ranged dps should spread out to avoid Ring of Malice.

2. DPS MUST target the orbs and burn them immediately! If you are dps, do not even attack the boss. Kill the orbs.

3. Everyone MUST interrupt the orbs. Scatter shot, silence, if you've got a caster interrupt, use it. Otherwise, the orbs thrash you with Grip of Hate. Note: Not all interrupts currently work. Scatter shot works, silencing shot does not. Rogue kidney shot works, kick does not.

4. Meditate before Haze of Hate makes you lose control.

5. Go forth Grashopper and defeat Taran Zhu! You know the Way of the Wowhead.

I leveled up tanking instances in LFG, and he was by far the one boss PUGs wiped on the most. He's tough if you don't know the fight.

DPS gotta, gotta, GOTTA kill the orbs. If they don't, you're bouncing all over the place and you can't meditate off the hate.

Whenever he does the spinning shadowbolts thing, don't run out! The damaging area is the ring around him ONLY. The tank and melee DPS will be fine as long as they stay close to the boss, and don't cross the ring.

When Deadly Boss Mod told me to switch targets, it just means orbs spawned. Go kill the orbs, dummy.

I recommend killing the orbs around the boss before pulling.

Meditate is currently bugged and interferes with orbs pretty seriously.

Me and my party had a lot of trouble killing the purple orbs because we had no ranged dps (normal, not heroic). we had the boss at 50% health when there were like 9 orbs and everyone started dying, me as a blood dk finished of the boss with 9 orbs active. at the end i had done over 3.700.000 healing and 3.600.000 absorbing. It looked really funny getting deathgripped allmost the whole time.

Should the tank meditate when hate maxes?
I did this once on my pally tnk after getting in a LFG group 3 pulls from him. no-one had any tips, etc so I was winging it (had NO clue wtf was happening). DPS died before me, so I think no one knew wth to do, but we got him down to under 30% or less health. We wiped and of course everyone bailed :^(

I could be wrong, but this fight may have been stealth nerfed. The damage going out now seems reduced from when the dungeon first went live.

Anyone else notice this?

I came across a rather... interesting "feature" with the Meditate ability versus Taran Zhu.

The Orbs Taran Zhu summons will periodically cast Gripping Hatred, pulling you to its place to inflict damage to you as long as you are in the proximity of the Orb. If two or more Orbs are still intact, they will pull you a couple of times. It can be pretty annoying, disorienting and a drain on the healer's mana. The solution is to DPS down the Orbs ASAP once Taran Zhu brings them out.

However, if you use Meditate before you are gripped, you completely ignore the gripping part of the Orbs! You will remain in place without being tossed all over.

Just use /focus on one of the Orbs and then use Meditate before they finish casting Gripping Hatred. Be sure to Meditate a second or two earlier just in case if one of the Orbs (if there are more than one, that is) gets Gripping Hatred off earlier. Meditate lasts for about 5 seconds, which will give you ample time to be "immune" to the pulls.

If you are already being gripped, you can still use Meditate to stop any further pulls if two or more Orbs are still intact. However, you will be meditating in the AOE, so be very careful.

If your group is really good and knows exactly when to Meditate, there will be no need to destroy the Orbs at all.

This will likely be hotfixed sooner or later, however... unless it is intentional.

I have a question about Haze of Hate, does it reduce how much you are healed or just how much healing you do (for example if you were the healer)? The wording leaves me confused.

Also, sort of on the same lines, as a druid tank, should I meditate?

Something interesting I found with this boss is that if you use the extra action button to Meditate, you will not get pulled by Grip of Hate cast by Gripping Hatred.

Taran Zhu was always spouting crap about how the Horde and Alliance couldent control their emotions and drew out the Sha, but he must have hated us so much the Sha of Hatred was drawn to him instead. Oh the irony!

In Heroic Shado-Pan Monastery there's an achievement called Hate Leads to Suffering where you have to defeat Taran Zhu while every party member has full hatred on them via Haze of Hate which will accumulate during the fight.

Unseen Force is located in the small cemetery which is in a nearly inaccessible area just to the right after you defeat Sha of Hatred. Clicking on Unseen Force will give you a buff called Unerring Blades which gives your chance to hit to be increased by 90% which will enable your group to defeat the boss without loss of chance to hit.

The healing decrease and the damage increase will still be there but it will be easier to defeat the boss since your hit will be unaffected for 15 minutes.
