This is the first boss in the Temple of the Jade Serpent dungeon. The dungeon is located in the Jade Forest.

In the first phase he will bubble himself, and start to blow up portions of the water while he summons adds. they aren't anything to fear, simply stand on the ramp and down them, if you're a melee class be sure to escape the Sha Corruption the adds leave once they are dead. Rotate your position along the dry areas until all four corrupted living waters are dead. The boss will then unshield and cast a big sweeping jet of water. Its really easy to dodge as it goes in a clockwise circle around his starting point. Move to the inner most circle of dry zone and stand on that ring while you hit him. Stay out of the water and move when the jet of water gets too close and you're done. Easy peasy.

This encounter in heroic mode can be easily (if rather slowly) soloed by a guardian druid, and probably many other classes too. If you are able to solo the trash leading to him then the fight itself will be just the same.

Just as with a group: Keep out of the water, kill the elementals that he summons, then kill the boss himself while avoiding his water beam. The only incoming damage should be the elementals which you only ever have to fight one at a time, and briefly the three smaller ones that spawn when each dies. There's no enrage timer and you can take as long as you need to kill each elemental without another spawning.

Those drop percentages are totally bs, i have an elemental shammy and i ve been doing this dung maybe 8-10 times a day since the 3rd day of Pandaria and still havent even seen the "Waterburst Helm".

Easy solo kill for a level 90 BM hunter in entry-level raid gear.

General:
- First killed him at ilevel 465, but should be manageable above 450 or so (i.e. BiS quest rewards, JP/honor gear)
- Turtle, as usual, reigns supreme for soloing. Tenacity spirit beasts are a good alternative.
- Glyphed Misdirection, Mending, Marked for Death (can swap out for Animal Bond to improve survivability at the expense of some DPS output). Spirit Bond is invaluable as well.

Phase 1:
- Park pet at top of stairs in front of Mari.
- Misdirect liberally to keep big & little adds aggro'ed on your pet.
- Space is a little cramped, and further reduced by Sha Residue puddles. The more you can stand still, the better.
- Save your cooldowns. If you do this part correctly you'll be easily healing through pet damage and taking none yourself. You can take your time killing the adds.

Phase 2:
- All you have to do here is stay ahead of the channeled water blast while DPS'ing.
- Aspect of the Fox while you're running to get ahead of the water, Hawk when you get ahead and can stand still for a few moments.
- The closer you can stand to Mari, the easier it is to get ahead of the water.
- Blow all your cooldowns. It's not necessary to survive, but it'll shorten the fight considerably.
- Don't stand in the water (duh).

Win, loot, gloat. Onward!

A priest's levitate ignores the water - you can safely "walk" over it. However, sometimes when you change levels while levitating, you sink to the ground for a bit. That'll make you touch the water in this case, and... yeah. Still, having levitate wouldn't hurt.

If you doing this dungeon on challenge mode, stay close to him (he has developed new ability stay far=die) the outer ring near to him is close enaugh. Also when we were trying to kill him we noticed that battle reses bug him out and after the trash he never engages in fight so all you can do is make mass suicide to get out of dungeon.

If you are fighting this boss on Challenge mode, there are a few differences to Heroic:
If you stand too far away, he will damage for a lot. You can stack on the outer ring behind the boss. Rotate the elementals left and right to stay out of Sha residue.
While doing this, watch out for the water. If it begins to glow black, you will want to move out of this. It does quite a lot of damage and puts strain on the healer. After the elementals it's essentially the same as heroic, just make sure to jump around the water.

I found a strategy that works for soloing this boss as a level 90 demonology warlock, while fighting the waters I concentrated on killing the droplets when they showed up then killing the waters, after fighting the waters once he starts doing his slow spin I let my Wrathguard do melee damage to him, for some reason his spell didn't seem to harm my Wrathguard once he was within attack range, while I ran around the outer ring, jumping over the gaps, until I almost caught up with the spell he is casting then I stopped and cast my spells (I used shadow bolt and when it was lit up soul fire) until his spell got close then I ran around the outer ring again, just keep up this pattern until he is dead.

P.S. It took me three tries to get it right so don't be discouraged if you fail a time or two.

If you are a priest or have one in your group you can levitate over the corrupted water in Phase 2. This helps reduce the need for healing. In fact, if your group manages to avoid the beam of water you can have your healer switch to dps completely.

I seem to have broken this boss.

If you manage to one shot him before he puts up his shield, which can be done at level 100 with the monk ability touch of death, the encounter will bug out. The wall that comes up, to lock you into the fight, will not disappear and you will either need to log out for a few minutes to be brought to the entrance, or you will need to hearth out. In either case, if you go and kill the other boss, the doors to the last two bosses will not open.

Edit: If you wait an hour he will reset and you can continue your farming.

Due to your high damage at level > 90, this encounter has a very significant chance of bugging out which leaves the boss in a state where they cast Hydrolance endlessly and you cannot finish the fight or reset the boss. To avoid this situation, do NOT attack this boss at the start and instead follow the steps below:

Walk into the room, aggroing the boss through proximity or by touching the water.
Wait for a Corrupted Water to spawn, aggro you, and start running towards you.
Using your weakest single target attacks, take out the Corrupted Water. NO AOEs else you will most likely bug out the encounter.
Wait for the 3+ droplets to spawn from the Corrupted Water and aggro you and start running towards you.
AOE or tab target to kill these droplets.
Repeat steps 2-5 for a total of four times. If at any point you kill the bigger Corrupted Water before it has a chance to aggro you or you decide to AOE it (which in turn AOEs its droplets almost immediately), the boss will bug out.
After step 6, the boss will cast Bubble Burst, removing the shield. At this point you can nuke the water speaker however you please and you will be able to proceed with the dungeon.

Again, don't attack boss until after the bubble has been burst, and don't kill the adds so quickly that they don't count towards the 4 Corrupted Waters you need to kill before the boss bursts their bubble.

Encounter is still bugged as of 1/25/17.

Do not one-hit kill the boss and wait for all the adds to come to you to help keep this encounter from bugging out and getting stuck in the Bubble/Hydrolance phase (heroic)

Some additional good-to-know information to Mapekz' great comment below that i found out when using this dungeon for alt leveling:

If you make a mistake at the absolute start or just want to reset the fight directly, you have 11 seconds to leave the room in order to reset it (7,5 before the force field appears and another 3,5 before it activates.
You CAN start the fight by attacking Mari without issues IF you make sure not to one-shot Mari. If you one-shot Mari, the Dungeon boss list will show Mari as defeated and the corpse will disappear after a few seconds However, the force field will still go up and activate after 11 seconds and lock you in if you haven't gotten out before that. Using any skills that removes you from combat (for example Feign Death) will NOT reset the fight. You CAN teleport out of the Dungeon but the fight will still not have reset and you cannot advance in the dungeon after the second boss because the next door will be closed. If this happens, you'll have to wait for the session timeout to happen which seems to be about an hour or so.
If the boss bugs out and you try to use a skill that removes you from combat to reset the fight, you have to be alone in the dungeon for it to reset the fight. If you are in a group and someone is still in the dungeon, regardless if they are with you in the room or not, it will not reset the fight. If the remove-from-combat skill is the kind that stays active for some time, it doesn't matter if you activate if before or after your other group members leave the dungeon.
If you start the fight by aggro, it will start when you cross the first row of gold bricks/tiles on the floor.
If not already clear in Mapekz comment, the reason you should not use AOE to kill the Corrupted Water mobs the boss spawns is that the trigger for the boss to summon a new Corrupted Water mob is when you kill the droplets and if they don't have a chance to fully spawn after you kill the Corrupted Water mob, the boss bugs out.

Ive noticed if you kill the water elemental he summons to quickly he will just remain in his bubble.. Just wait a few seconds.. If you kill it, and you don't get the 3 additional adds it will bug. :)

Hey, for anyone here trying to solo this big boy, as theangriesthippo and nickolina said, hitting him or the elementals too quickly will cause the fight to basically never end.
If you have any techniques that make you go out of combat such as Shadowmeld, you will leave combat and Mari will disappear. Then you can go out of the room, wait like 10 seconds and go back in, ready to try again.

Just completed this fight solo on my 120 Warrior on patch 8.1.5. I'm trying to get the meta MoP dungeon achievement, and so the first time I entered this fight I completely bugged it out. I decided to take it slow a second time when killing the adds which resulted in me successfully beating it. I then checked wowhead to read the comments to see if anyone else dealt with that bug, and sure enough there are multiple people still saying that the bug isn't fixed. So here is basically how I beat it.

For anyone who thinks this fight is bugged follow this foolproof plan.

1. Stand at the end of the room (opposite from where you enter) and wait for the boss to spawn the first Corrupted Living Water.

2. Target yourself and let Corrupted Water reach you and wait a few seconds (I waited 5 seconds to be extra careful, but it isn't necessary)

3. Target Corrupted Water and kill it. Rinse and repeat until boss breaks his bubble.

I'm fairly confident that the bug is caused by the rapid killing of the Corrupted Water, and has nothing to do with the rapid killing of the droplets that spawn after. You simply have to wait a few seconds after the Corrupted Water spawns and then you can one shot it and the droplets that spawn.

4. Kill Boss.

Why can't Blizzard take some time to fix these buggy bosses? SERIOUSLY. I wouldn't mind a 10-hour maintenance if the end result was fixing it all.

I know why you're here.

You're here because of those sexy mail transmogs or completing WOW at 100% but you keep glitching him because you're so awesome and kill things too quickly.

There are comments about taking off armor etc. to get him properly to overcome the bug. Well, I've farmed this awhile and here's how to do it - without having to get naked and still doing it with 1 shot attacks...

...okay start the fight.

Get in the back, let the first Corrupted Living Water come BUT let him get Hydrolance off first. Then down it.
Let him get another Hydrolance BEFORE killing the Corrupted Droplets.

Rinse and Repeat. As long as you let him Hydrolance inbetween killing the Corrupted Living Waters and Corrupetd Droplets you'll get to the Bubble Burst without any problems.

This is just flat out bugged now. I killed it with a level 23 demon hunter tank. Had a high level druid heal me but other than that the druid did nothing. I killed everything, not quickly just what would be expected for a tank dps in a level appropriate dungeon. Despawned after I kill the boss. Definitely not a quick kill issue.

He is bugged for Pandaria Remix. At the beggining of the fight, he just stays in the bubble, doing things with the water, but not spawning any adds. Attacking him or not doesn't change anything either. If there's also the other bug where you had to wait and not kill the adds too fast, this is becoming difficult...

Edit: it's fixed now. I've just done it with a group and everything seemed to work fine.

Wise Mari shields himself and uses the corrupt waters of the fountain to assault players.

Corrupted Waters – The corrupted waters of the fountain inflict 810879 Frost damage every 0.5 sec.
Water Bubble – Wise Mari protects himself in multiple layers of Water Bubble, reducing damage taken by 25% for each layer of protection. Whenever a layer of Water Bubble is removed it inflicts 11 Frost damage to all enemies and reduces movement speed by 50% for 10 sec.
Any enemy that comes into contact with the protective Water Bubble will suffer 450489 Frost damage and be knocked away.
Corrupting Waters – Wise Mari directs the fountain's corrupted waters to attack players, inflicting 45 Frost damage to enemies caught within the Corrupted Water Burst.
Call Water – Wise Mari summons a Corrupt Living Water from one of the four smaller fountains to attack his enemies.

Wash Away – Wise Mari channels a jet of corrupted water, inflicts 5405862 Frost damage every 0.3 sec to players caught in its path.
Corrupted Vortex – Wise Mari marks players for a Corrupted Vortex. After 6 sec the mark erupts inflicting 21 Frost damage to players within 4 yards and creates a Corrupted Vortex.
- Corrupted Vortex – Players standing in the vortex suffer 810879 Frost damage every 1 sec and are drawn towards its center.
