Looks like you can find this little guy in that little nook just outside of Blackrock Depths' instance portal. It's a Shale Spider, so you'll need the right talent to tame it. I guess it can be one of those early tames for Hunters that are high enough level to tame one, but not high enough for all of the ones in Cata zones.

Spawns in Blackrock Mountain just outside BRD's portal. This new rare has been introduced with patch 5.1, as part of 148 new beasts. More information on those new tamables is available on Petopia

Yep was Near the portal in a little nook along with 3 Dwarves. Just as Sellow said. Taming the spider does not agro the dwarves.

Anyone know the respawn rate on this pet? I'm there now on my hunter and its not there.

One of the newly added rares to Blackrock Mountain, their purpose is for hunters to gain access to new exotic pets.

One of 148 new tamable pets added in Patch 5.1. One of two tamable Shale Spiders outside of Deepholm, with the other being Glint, so spare a thought for the hunters who might be looking for an early Shale Spider.

I tamed this beast at 2:25pm, while working on my Elders of the Dungeons achievement, on Shadowmoon's server. Just sitting between some Dwarves in front of the dungeon entrance like everyone said.

I was headed to BRD to get attuned to Molten Core and saw this guy in a little cave inside Blackrock Mountain near the entrance to BRD. My first reaction was to kill him because he was a rare but something told me to check Wowhead first.
Luckily after reviewing the comments and drops I realized he is a hunters pet and not an item dropper, and then took it a step further and said in general that he was there.
Hoping I made some hunters day!

Crystalfang is a rare spawn level 49 Beast. He is however an (Exotic) pet. To tame him you need to be level 69 or higher and spec'd Beast Mastery.

I was really sad when I saw him spawn and at level 52 i could not tame him. :(

I've spent 2.5-3 hours camped out for this shale spider at the coordinates shown in Wowhead above (25,73) for Crystalfang (not be confused with Crystal Fang) and I think they are incorrect. I was right on top of 25,73 above ground but something kept gnawing at me. The screen shots for this little bugger didn't look as though it was caught up there. So I started doing some digging and have come to this conclusion (which I will verify upon taming this red/pink shale spider named Crystalfang):

You have to enter the Blackrock Mountain "building". Once inside, go DOWN to the Blackrock Depths entrance area. This is not easily found if you're not familiar, so keep looking around towards the bottom of the "main pit area" (for lack of a better description). The actual portal entrance is a ways away, so go on through the area towards the portal. You're going to see a lot of dwarves and that means you're in the right place... Just to the left of the spinning blue portal entrance, you'll see what looks like some big wooden cogs on the ground and inward is a little pit/cave area. If they haven't been killed, there will be three dwarves in here ("Anvilrage Taskmaster" and 2 "Anvilrage Enforcer"s). I'm standing at 34.78, 21.16 in "The Masonary" looking into the pit/cave. As a level 78, the lvl 50 dwarves are not hitting me. This, I think, is where the infamous pink/red shale spider named Crystalfang will spawn (I hope, I hope!).

I've arrived at 11:00am (my time) and we'll see how long it takes for it to show up. When I've caught it (and I sure hope I do), I'll follow up here. My goal is to maybe save any future hunters who wish to tame this creature some agony and time of having to find it in the first place :-) ***what we hunters do.... ***
