Rare spawn shale spider found within the Crumbling Depths cave area of Deepholm. It is a level 85 with roughly 111k hp. There are some non-hostile spiders nearby, but they do not aggro or add when Jadefang is attacked, so it was easy to solo as a lvl 82 boomkin.

Most importantly, it drops the Tiny Shale Spider pet. I assume this is a 100% drop rate.

Note to Hunters: This rare spawn drops the Tiny Scale Spider vanity pet, so you will have to make a choice between taming or getting a vanity pet, since odds are good this mob will be camped for a very long time. =(

Unlocking Jadefang:
First and foremost, you are going to have to wait for a certain Therazane daily quest, specifically Underground Economy. The quest is given by a Goblin NPC named Ricket in the crumbling depths. The daily quest gives you an item called Ricket's Tickers and is used to explode crystals around the caves, then gather them.

The key is using this item and its side effect, which is mentioned by the NPC. To quote: "I've got a nasty habit of packin' the explosives a bit thick. Mind the kick.". For those who aren't sure what that means: its a massive knock back, you will go flying 30+ yards.

Tunnel Navigating to Jadefang:

Enter the Crumbling Depths, continue going straight, deeper into the crumbling depths.
Once you see the colossal gyreworm (level 85 elite, non-attackable) pathing, go right and follow the same direction the gyreworm is heading.
You will pass by one dead end tunnel before being in a large cave with many tunnels to choose from. Head into the far right tunnel.
Take your first left when it presents itself, it should dead end back in the big open cave area.
Looking in front of you, you should see a dark green crystal. To the far right you should see an elevated cave entrance (with a red glow inside) that is completely unreachable.
Now the fun part. Who is ready for some Goblin engineering fun? :D
You now have 2 options to get to Jadefang

Bomb Option #1 (Shorter Distance)

Mount up while at the dead end. Jump onto the dark green crystal infront of you. You must be mounted to make a jump onto the dark green crystal structure in front of you. (Other speed increasing methods may or may not work: rocket boots, sprint, etc.)
Once you've made it to the green block, face your back in the direction/angle that you wish to be hurled. Place Ricket's Tickers in front of you and watch yourself go flying like only a Goblin invention can make you (I am looking at you, malfunctioning Rocket Boots).
If you miss, repeat the last couple of steps till you get it, Ricket's Tickers have unlimited charges for you to try with.
Once you make it into the tunnel, if you are very lucky, Jadefang will be waiting for you.

Bomb Option #2 (Longer Distance)

Face your back in the direction/angle that you wish to be hurled. Place Ricket's Tickers in front of you and watch yourself go flying like only a Goblin invention can make you (I am looking at you AGAIN, malfunctioning Rocket Boots).
If you miss, repeat the last couple of steps till you get it, Ricket's Tickers have unlimited charges for you to try with.
Once you make it into the tunnel, if you are very lucky, Jadefang will be waiting for you.

If you are lazy, but ingenuitive, you can unplug your ethernet cable for about 6 seconds as you fly into the cave and up to this spot. Got up there on my second try :P

Camped it today for 6 hours after coming upon the empty spawn point. Got the kill, so the spawn timer is at least 6 hours long, probably longer.

Aite, just killed this baby and looted the uber cute pet.

So it may be known I did this on my rogue with nitro boots and Sub spec for shadow step. I would be under the ledge on the white stone and trigger my nitro boots. You would want them to fail. once failed u get shot in the air.best if you already tageted one of the lil spiders before doin since this is alittle fast ^^ once in air shadow step and there you have it.

As a note for hunters(and really anyone with a proper /tar macro), it is possible to check if she is there by simply flying over where she is. You'll see three yellow dots close together(Deep Spider) on your minimap. If she's up, her dot should be just west of those.

I flew over and found her yesterday night and killed her for the pet, then saw her again tonight and tamed her.

Based on the times I've got for her on Wyrmrest Accord, Jadefang is on the 6-to-9 hour respawn timer, which means she's a highly available rare. Edit: Just camped her for a twelve hour spawn, while the other definite time frame I have was 8.5 hours. So she's either a 6-9 or 8-12; the 12 is within the 6-9 variance frame if you consider the fact that another rare needs to die to let her repop.

The problem with taming or killing her is thus not camping multiple spawn sites or waiting on an erratic timer but actually getting up to her little nest. I kinda like that, after the nightmare of the Sholazar rares. :P

Spawned on Dath'remar at 5:19pm server time, after almost 7 hours of camping - what a long and boring 7 hours! Hope this helps someone.

For anyone wondering, she spawns right at the very back of the cave.

My npcscan went off while flying over the cave at around 4 am cst. Couldn't get the daily for the bomb, but after a few tries of unplugging and replugging my ethernet cable I was able to fly to the ledge without d/cing.

The problem with the detailed SS is that its hard to see the context of the shot. Where exactly does he spawn in the tunnel? Is it up near the front by the neutral mobs or farther towards the back?

To fellow engineer hunters

1. stand under the platform with jadefang
2. use nitro boosts untill they explode and send you flying
3. hit parachute
4. attack spiders on the platforn
5. turn around and use disengage

This is a working way of getting on the platform if you dont have the bomb quest. Just tamed Jadefang this way, took about 20 min to get exploded nitro boosts.

PS, I've seen him 3 times now, and she's always in the way back of cave. Sometimes there's a treasure chest back there too.

I just killed it (2:30pm Server Time on Blackwater Raiders - US), and I can confirm that the bomb method mentioned by tmptfate is a great way to reach the ledge.

I can also confirm that dying in the cave will NOT spawn you with a flying mount upon turning into a ghost. This means you CANNOT die and fly into the cave as a ghost to reach the ledge.

Just had a chest spawn in the back while waiting for Jadefang to spawn. I would have thought that it would mean that she'd spawn when the chest poped up. But it turned out after waiting 5 mins after the chest spawned Jadefang never spawned even after looting it.

So the chest has no share-spawn timer with Jadefang. All what dropped in the chest was a BoP Blue Mail boots that I cannot use as a rogue and 1 gold. Nothing fancy.

used the daily bomb trick and it works just fine
kind of scary when i got there. there were a few ppl under the cave looking up for a way in but i bombed up first and tamed

He was not spawned when I got to the cave, but at exactly 13hrs, 0mins camping he spawned. So I'd guess that the spawn timer is between 12 and 15 hrs

just killed it and was pretty ez but his special attack freaked me out lol
with help of my Nitro Boosts or better say Nitro Belt (since Cata came out Nitro Boosts its can be used only on belt) i made a shadowstep to nearest spider right after i blew up. took me about 20 min to get there...ez kill -nice companion :P

Llane server:

Downed at ~10:25pm EST. Flew past on the surface and my NPCScan went off.

Used the green crystal > bomb technique to get to his ledge. I am also using Silverdragon which also went off when he was targeted. Not a hard fight but beware his "Flurry" technique which does ~30,000 dmg with multiple 2.5k swings on plate.

Had him in my npcscan to test the link between Aeonaxx and other rares, sorry if I stole a hunter's target.

I used the bombs from the daily Underground Economy that can be picked up from Ricket just inside the Crumbling Depths cave (she's near the entrance but does not always have a quest available).
Following the other suggestions in previous comments, I was able to bomb myself into the cave.

For those keeping tabs, I camped out for about 12 hours before Jadefang spawned in the very back of the cave. As a level 85 warlock, she wasn't a challenge to kill at all.

Don't make the same mistake as I did, remember to put on Free for All if you're in a group. My brother was there but couldn't get up there (I used Nitro Boost), but he got the loot.

Currently awaiting answer from GM wether I'll get the pet or not.

Ran in at 03:01am this morning, with Underground Economy, after 4 days without this quest in the dailies, so I knew it would be there.

Enter cave, and head passed the area with the giant worm rolling about and into the big open room
Take a right, and then left in the next big room
Jump onto the green pillar to the right while mounted
Stand at the back of the pillar and place bomb in middle, then move between bomb and the cave entrance in front of you
Get knocked up into the cave, and find Jadefang sitting, just waiting to give you his Tiny Shale Spider

Love my new pet, looks very exotic and cool. Thanks for all the tips, took me less than 3 minutes total on this Rare Spawn, if you don't count the 3 days of reading Wowhead to make sure I knew what to do.

Just got the pet at about 1am PST on Uther - US

Once I saw the goblin daily was available I accepted it, but did NOT complete it. I'm not engineering, so this was my only means of getting up there. I was able to use the quest item to blast me onto the ledge, and turned around to find jadefang.

I logged on at 10 am server time, picked up the needed daily to blast myself up on the ledge and decided to camp there. Exactly at 12 am, 14 hours later, the spider spawns. I have no idea how many hours prior to me getting there it spawned, so it could have been more than a 14 hour timer. What a friggin waste of a day. A nice pet for sure, but it certainly is not on a quick timer.

Easy to get up there once you get the bomb placement down (once you drop the bomb on the rock outcropping, just move a tiny bit forward (and you can do this all while mounted)), the hard part is patience.

I can confirm the spawn time can be over 7 hours, I waited on several occasions 4-5 hours, and last night, after waiting 7 hours, 13 minutes, it spawned on Ravencrest at 2:41am st.
Tiny shale spider captured! It spawned, right before I was going to give up & go to bed! Oh, & killing it dinged me 85!

People I found a way to get Jadefang without the quest. Just get a huge lag spike, for example try loading a youtube video and mount on your flying mount, when you start seeing the worms just stop and stand there fly in the cave quickly and when you reach the middle room after the big worm turn left real quick into the tunnel that is unreachable walking, after that exit youtube and there you go, Instant access to Jadefang, Thats how i tamed him

I did just camp him i camped for 3 hours and then he came. I am a balance drood and he hit me for 5 k no match. I can say that he has 100% drop chance of his pet so good luck camping it :) PS. It looks SO cool i always have itas my pet now for a exchange of Little Fawn

without engineering, get on your mount, run around to the ledge where you see the unreachable cave where jadefang is, jump onto the broken emerald pillar while mounted, plant Ricket's Tickers down, turn your back to the cave where jadefang is WHILE mounted, and when the tickers go off, it will blow you into it. might take a couple trys, but once you get the trajectory down its a breeze. my npcscan went off while i was trying to figure out how to get in there. someone beat me to her. sad face. :(

Ok Jadefang spawned at 10:57 am (server time) on Moonrunner, I waited 7.5 hours but am not sure when the previous spawn time was. She was very easy tame and only took a few seconds after popping a speed potion, barely took any damage.

I also looted the chest that spawns up in the cave and received a blue cloth item. The chest spawned approx. an hour before Jadefang did.

That's 2 Cata rares down. (Terrorpene was my first obsession)

Haven't seen anything posted on this so far...

Over the past few days I have been camping this pet, and gathered the following data for Eonar (US). All times are server times (EST).

Dec. 20th: Spawned at 4:45 PM
Dec:21st: Realm Restart at 8:15 AM, Realms back up at 8:45AM

At this point I went offline and did not come back until 1PM. Not sure if she spawned in that time period.

Jadefang spawned at 12:15AM on Dec 22nd.

Dec 22nd: Realm Maintenance starting at 8:10AM, ended at 10:40AM

She has not spawned as of Dec 22nd 12:55PM since realm maintenance.

Point is, does the realm restart affect her spawn timer at all? And if it does, does it extend it, or does she spawn again right after the restart?

I will continue camping and come back to update this with her spawn times on Dec 22nd.

EDIT: Killed her on Dec 22nd at exactly 10:45PM. Therefore I can confirm that her spawn timer is between 12 and 14 hours, and a server reset DOES reset her spawn timer.

Saw her die at 8:48 pm. Had some alliance friends come by and kill any Horde competition while chatting with them over realID. Was hilarious and got many a nasty tell, but no pet. Camped for 9 hours before passing out around 6 am.

Definitely was a long random spawn timer, I went to the cave after getting the got up early last week to camp this, got myself to the back of the cave and waited ... and waited ... and waited ...

Took almost 14 hours but it finally spawned. I left myself there, logged back in early the next morning and there was Jadefang again in about 12 hrs, no other hunter responded so I nabbed the mini-pet.

Just need Aotona now to fill the zoo.

Logged in at 12:10 server on Christmas day, saying "maybe I'll get a new companion for Christmas", sure enough it was there. On a side note, I got 169,000 xp for the kill. Great recompense for logging out not in an inn. I recommend taking it out before you hit 85 for the XP. : D

I had been waiting for an hour or two for her to spawn (did a dungeon or two while I waited).. after exiting my last dungeon lo and behold, she was there! Tamed immediately, and seconds after a DK logged in where she had been standing.

I did not have the daily on my server today and used the d/c method to make it onto the ledge. It took several tries to get up there.

Tamed at 8:48pm server time on Gilneas. Going to check back later to see if she's respawned so I can snag the pet as well.

edit: I went back about 13 hours later, no sign of her. One pally camping the spot. Went back at 8:50pm and there she was. I'll agree on the 12-14hr respawn.

My husband kills Jadefang for the pet. We start the timer for 11 hours. I wake up one hour before the timer is up, and it goes off at 3:00pm. We wait until 8:00pm with no sighting of Jadefang - a total of 16 hours.

Edit: We came back to WoW several hours later, and at 11:52pm, NPCscan went off. By our timer, that would indicate almost a 20 hour spawn timer. The only explanation I can think of is that there was a rolling restart during the time that we were asleep.

I do not know if it was a fluke or not, but I know that on Sunday morning one druild in our guild got the pet at about 11:30am without the daily and using charge to get into the cave (not sure specifics on how).

Later, at 2:00pm, only 2.5 hours later, one of our priests saw the spawn up there but could not find a way to get in. There were no restarts or anything in-between. It may be that he is on a random timer? or that he spawns every so many hours no matter what time he was killed?

I will leave the science and math behind this to those who like that kind of thing, but I figured I would at least throw this info out there for you guys.

Camped Jadefang for 16 hours straight, and I finally got it! :D So, of what I'm guessing now is, is that it's spawn timer is REALLY random.

Just killed Jadefang (sorry hunters, but don't even wanna tame it on my hunter, just different color than all the other tamable shale spiders), it spawned right at the back of this cave/tunnel.

Kind of weird though... I rode down into the Depths, got into the main chamber right after the giant worm and... nothing, NPCScan didn't do a thing.

I got out and just as I was flying towards Therazane's Throne suddenly I got the NPCScan alert.

So either I had really weird timing and Jadefang spawned immediately after I had left the Depths or it's just barely out of range for NPCScan when you're in the main chamber.

So tip - if you wanna check for Jadefang better actually get to Pebble's position so you'll be able to sort of see into the tunnel/get in range, don't just go into this main chamber, you might be too far away.

I've been camping since 12:38 server (PST). Jadefang spawned 20:15. I am not aware of her last spawn and our server had a restart at 5:00.

EDIT: Why downrate? I simply gave the time I started and how long it took for her to spawn, noting that there was a server restart before I started. This info, coupled with someone who would be willing to camp through a server restart, can really shed some light on her spawn timer and whether or not it gets affected by server restarts.

There was a poster here that has confirmed a spawn timer of at least 6 hours and the spawn I got was 7 hours 37 minutes.

Killed her at 10 am on undermine server got my cute little pet, and being that i am a hunter i went back after 8 hours she wasnt up yet so i came back at about every hour after wards till around 1:35 am she spawned again and i tamed her on undermine server. I used the lag method both times to get to her seeing how the daily was never up.

Hunters, for love of Elune, if you tame this creature, PLEASE try to refrain from using it in the Crumbling Depths! It totally screws up the NPCScan addon many of us are using, giving a false positive and messing up our cache, forcing a logout and dump.

I had my game sound muted and my computer turned up all the way, with NPCScan set to override the game mute. Left my toon sitting in Jadefang's spawn area, started doing some things around the house.

Damn near killed my wife when I tripped over her while diving for the comp, because NPCScan got a false positive from a Hunter in the depths doing dailies.

As a Hunter, I want it as a pet too, guys, but try to refrain from using her near her spawn point, at least when IN the depths.

Got mine about 12:30 AM server time on US-WIldhammer. Me and my friend were trying the lag trick two different ways, he was remotely disconnecting his laptop and I was unplugging my ethernet cord. I watched him fail about five times before I repositioned my computer so the ethernet cord was within reach. Here was my method, your results may vary because of internet provider and that kinda stuff.

1. mounted up on my flying mount outside the cave
2. flew in and unplugged the cord as i got inside
3. flew the shortest route possible and went past the worm hallway
4. I plugged back in when i was in the large open chamber area
5. flew into the cave and waited for the internet to catch up
6. I was lucky enough to see Jadefang in front of me :)

I'm not sure what his spawn rate is, but I didn't see anyone inside the unreachable cave at all today when I did my daily in there or when I came back for Jadefang.

Ok, I have just confirmed the spawn time to be approx. 9 hrs and 45 mins. Last night, right at 12 midnight on New Year's, it popped up in front of me. I tamed it. I stayed dead and floating in the same area for the rest of the night. Later that morning I went off to make breakfast. I come back, and at 9:45am it popped up again. So now I'm running around with two Jadefang's lol. GOOD LUCK! HAVE FUN! & HAPPY 2011!

I love the false lag method! I did what was originally posted, disconnected my ethernet cable, counted to 6 and plugged back in, then reloaded my UI and I was up there with Jadefang. I got the little pet too!

Another way to get up to the ledge without dying or creating false lag is once you get the daily quest (Underground Economy) don't turn it in until you get your pet! Unlimited number of bombs at your disposal.

I camped Jadefang off and on all night with no luck. I took a break in the morning to run dailies, and then went back later to start camping again. I noticed if you have Track Beast on you can fly over the cave at 61.20-21.30 and see if Jadefang is there without having to enter the cave. Sure enough he was there! I flew down and used the bomb method posted earlier to enter Jadefang’s cave, and tamed him at 9:00am server time on Kilrogg. The tip above to not turn in the “Underground Economy” quest works great, you can use the bombs anytime, and as often as needed. Thanks to all the tips and info here, and some patience, I now have Jadefang as my new pet! ;)

Doing the quest today and my npcscan went off just as i made the jump to the green crystal - got in the cavern and got the kill.

Since that was the last of my dailies and off work for the day, I figured hey I'll just reset my npcscan and wait here for him to spawn again, running wow in the background while I did some work and watched a couple movies on my computer.

Very high populated server - only a few people dropped by, most didn't see me (shadowmeld ftw!) and only 1 or 2 stayed for more than 2 minutes. No one stayed more than 5 minutes. Did have a emo chat with a horde hunter, since I was taming and she was killing she blew me a kiss and left (thanks TC!)

6 hours - he could spawn at any moment
7 hours - he's gonna spawn any second I can't leave the cpu
~ Chest spawned - dropped Belmont's Vampire Hacker
8 hours - he's almost here...I just know it

Conclusion: The spawn timer is at least 6 hours, but again - it's RANDOM.

The things hunters do for rare spawns. Oh well, guess this balances out for getting Terrorpene and Ghostcrawler within 20 min of each other.

You can get there without the daily quest.

1. Play wow on $%^&ty internet ( i used my phones 3g internet)
2. Go to the entrance of the cave with your flying mount
3. Open up 50+ videos on youtube or other heavy websites

Then you just fly there and you wont get dismounted becouse your latency will be like 2000+

Camping this rare spawn right now. It has passed the 6h mark so the 6h straight-forward spawn timer has been debunked.

I'll post an update if/when I see it.

Since there was a server restart today, I have been camping since the restart almost to the minute.

The quickest video tutorial on how to get to Jadefang for those with the daily quest and using the provided item. Note: the quest giver is by the entrance of the Crumbling Depths but the days she gives the daily quest varies, some days she is there and some days she don't be giving the quest!

The moment you enter the big room after the unkillable Colossal Gyreworm, look straight ahead and you see up above a tunnel. Run to it (you will find yourself below) and follow the minimap image to run up there. Once on top looking toward where you came from (the unkillable Colossal Gyreworm tunnel) -look to the right side and you see yet another tunnel that you can't simply jump to, you need some sort of boost and this is where the quest item comes in handy! Have fun!

If you feel totally stuck here is a 30 seconds video of how to get to the location. It should be plenty to orient you where the inner cave you are looking for is located.
This appears to be the way Blizzard intended people to get to Jadefang but as an alternative method you can simply die under the entrance to the cave you are supposed to boost yourself up to and fly into it as a ghost. The ghost will be able to fly around even in the Crumbling Depths but note that this may be fixed in future patches!

The only viable method If you're like me and don't have you ethernet cable near your computer(wireless) Is to get the bomb from the goblin daily at the start of the cave (respawn for daily seems to be every few days) and not do the quest. Then you can just stand below the cave she's In and use /target jadefang to see If she's there.

Just tamed her today after much trial and error.

I decided to just go and see if she was there, even though I haven't finished the quest line to unlock the daily yet. So you'll probably guess I wasn't so happy when I got close and my npc scan went off saying she was there, erk!

I wasn't sure what to do for a while, and was just waiting for any of the people running around the cave to jump up and kill her at any second.

All I have to say to anyone who wants the pet or finds it but can't get the daily yet... ask for help from the people around you!

I found a very nice warlock who agreed to help me reach the ledge. Took quite a bit of time to find the right place to set the bomb (we eventually set it on some of the purple stones facing the ledge where the blast sent me up onto the ledge).

I tamed Jadefang today at 2:10pm server time on Blackrock. After two failed attempts due to the overwhelming number of Horde on this server I am so happy to have him as a pet. He's a pretty good tank and he just looks awesome :D

I don't know much about his spawn timer; he spawned at 8:45pm server time last night and I didn't see him from 8:30am this morning until he spawned again at 2:10. So I hope that helps those of you who are scoping him out!

Very high populated server - only a few people dropped by, most didn't see me (shadowmeld ftw!) and only 1 or 2 stayed for more than 2 minutes. No one stayed more than 5 minutes. Did have a emo chat with a horde hunter, since I was taming and she was killing she blew me a kiss and left (thanks TC!)

no problem...although I still havn't been able to get him yet *sigh*

edit: yay finally got him at 11:00am server time....killed him for the companion, will be staying til he pops again for the tame and will add the time for next spawn

edit: been camping in the cave for nearly 12 hours now...at about 6:30pm the chest spawned, then again at 10:15pm.....still waiting for jadefang....

edit: well too late tonight for me and still no sign of him....maybe tomarrow *yawn*

So I KNOW this sounds like, OH NOES, so horrible, but you could just wait until the little gobby girl has the quest with the bomb. The best way to do this is to stand in the tunnel just left of the one you need to get into with Jadefang in it, face your body exactly opposite of the entrance, get as clsoe to the edge as possible, without falling (You can stand about a yard from the edge) and click the bomb, do not move. I did it the first time and every time afterwards. Just keep the quest, don't finish it or get rid of it, and your fine. Farm away fellow wow nerds.

I had a friend on the alliance side come over with his Night Elf Death Knight, Obviously I am Horde and I wanted him to Death Grip me onto the Ledge. Yes the (Wisp) mode does seem to be working for NE's. But This idea does not work, we tried almost every possible way to get him to Death Grip me and it did not work. This also goes for Life Grip with priests, I thought I'd share this information with all of you in case you tried this method, Sorry guys.

Just got the pet from this guy on Shadow Council after 3 hours of camping. We had maintenance today, so he can spawn less than 12 hours after that. Approximate spawn time was 7:50pm PST.

Just a note for dealing with competition. There were a couple members of the other faction who were chasing me around the cave, planting the bombs used in the daily, apparently with the aim of blowing me out of the cave, or maybe just distracting me so they could get first tag. I finally found a location at the very rear of the cave, backed up against the corner of the rock, where the bombs did not move me. Far right corner, if looking at the back of the cave from the entrance.

Oh, and something I had not realized is the mini-pet is Bind on Pickup. Explains why I had not seen any in the AH. >.< Very glad I did this with my pet collector toon.

For those of you trying the Router Tap trick (can be done on an Ethernet connection as well):

- Take the left portion of the Colossal Gyreworm's track through the ring. This saves time.

- When you get to the big room (immediately after the Gyreworm track), Jadefang is in the highest cave in the upper left hand area of the big room. The directions posted for using the bombs just lead you in a big loop. Instead of going that way, like I did, just fly into the upper left cave in the big room.

Ok first off, I held onto the goblin bomb quest with the idea that the bomb wouldn't disappear if I didnt complete the quest...she happened to have the same quest for the 3 days that I held on to it, so no idea if you can hold onto the bomb if quest isn't up.

Getting on Jadefang's ledge was pretty easy as long as you're on the ledge literally to the right of it. Place a bomb, position yourself just in front of it (can even do this mounted) and enjoy the ride straight into Jadefang's lair.

She spawned for a friend at 5pm eastern, and we checked up every so often until she spawned again at 6am eastern the next morning. So a 13 hour respawn for us as far as we could tell...

*note - I heard from several players that many of the new Cata rare spawns are on random timers in order to prevent spawn campers... I'm sure I could verify this with google but so could you!

Logged on around 4pm and waited. Jadefang spawned (and died) at 4:43 pm...
So that's what...10 hours? Assuming it didn't respawn while I was way.

Also, if it matters, the underground economy quest was not available yesterday...but it was today.

Those who have had to wait 6ish hours have been very lucky.

I started camping at 3pm. It's now 3am. I discovered that he was killed at roughly 10am. So the minimum spawn timer I have here at the moment is 17 hours (and that's only if he was to pop up now by some kind of insane luck).

Think I'll give up for the night and try another time.

Just don't be fooled into thinking his respawn timer is short. You may get lucky or you may not. It's completely random. Fingers crossed you might just find him.

Got it this am. Spawned after I turned in economy daily so had no bombs. Tried every trick listed here to get in. Including having the wife stand beside the comp to unplug/plug cable. Could fly to ledge and spam rez but everytime timed out too soon.

Got naked to die and let worm get me. How come people still don't know they can't get kill credit if not aggro'd? People kept killing my worm :( Whole time worried someone else was reading this forum and take the kill.

Finaly got in grp with someone who had bombs. Worked great and I got the drop. Wondering why no roll on drop if in grp. Felt bad for the guy so paid him 500 gold. Hey, I had been at it an hour and no one killed it.

Also why no 'cheeves for Cat Rare's? Got three already.

The spawn timer may be more random than the samples reported would indicate. Spawned yesterday, missed it by minutes. Camping today 8 am server time to 430 server time, and no showing of the spider or the chest that can spawn in its place.

After two days on near non-stop farming finally nabbed this guy. First day I remained around the spawn site for 12 hours without luck, although I took a break during the grind. Logged in the next day around 1:50PM to Jadefang's corpse in front of me and a shaman spamming chat with the pet. Around 4:20AM Jadefang spawned once more and was mine. I believe this guy is a 12-14 hour respawn, at least from the information I have seen. Regardless, Here are some things I have found useful for this particular grind.

-Persistence. This is a unique hunter pet and drops a companion for anyone. Although many have recommended against this, if you really want this companion/pet its best to just camp the spot. For example, when I nabbed Jadefang myself the daily was not Ricter's Tickers, however several hunters logged in over time at the spawn point along with several others who saved the quest as I did.

-Occupation. Good for you if you can sit there for 12+ hours without anything else to do, but if you are like me and can't stand still for more than 30 minutes find something to occupy your time. I found classwork to be productive during this time as well as the Peggle/Bejeweled mods available.

-NPCScan. I have not tryed Silverdragon so I cannot give an opinion on that, but as I said I got my Tiny Shale Spider around 4am. I was tired, but those loud drums/horns in my ear make me instantly respond to the spawn. I find this kind of indication important.

-"First who tags wins." This was my trademark phrase. Some hunters show up and whispered me indicating a) They were here to tame Jadefang and b) They wanted me to leave. I remained polite and informed them that I had been waiting X amount of hours and that whomever tags the mob first wins with no hard feelings. In my case, all the hunters logged within minutes. This may not be the case for you, but this statement shows firm commitment without any unnecessary aggression.

-Self-Control/Patience. People are going to show up. This is just fact, however most do not have the tenacity (or insanity) to sit and wait for several hours. In my case I was able to out camp many would-be campers. Just sitting there prepared and quiet usually scares many off.

In addition to the above, I had two hunters who had Jadefang as a pet show up and sit at the spawn point. One even spammed /spit and /laugh. Some non-hunters showed up and summoned the pet and ran around me for a while. These types of people are trying to get a rise out of you. DO NOT GIVE IT TO THEM. That gives them more reason to stay and grief you. Stay quiet and do not target them. Most likely they will leave if you do not provide 'amusement' for their pee-brains.

This guy is a beautiful pet and a lovely companion. Good luck to any/all who want him!

you CAN tame her on the ledge if you have a friend who can sheep her on the very edge.

Hop on the crystal thingy in front of the ledge and have your friend kite jade to you.

i was only 84 when she spawned, so i had to rush to 85, so my mage friend kept her tagged for me.

Was flying around herbing on my Warlock when my NPCScan went crazy with Jadefang.. I had no idea where to even start looking or anything about her. So I went inside the cave and finally decided to look it up when i saw this thread, we didn't have the daily when she was up and I wasn't about to let this little rare get away without a fight!

So I tried the engineering thing with a friend and tried getting up there with no luck. Then I tried using the DC technique, worked awesome! Took me a few times to get the timing right, on when to turn my wireless on and off, but after like 5 tries i got it perfectly. And it is much easier to take the left path, just make sure your familiar with the area right before trying it.

The fight itself wasn't hard. She has 116k HP and was easily soloable as a 85 Holy Priest. The main ability, that I noticed at least, was what looked like a frontal swipe ability. Easily avoidable by just jumping back a few steps since she doesn't follow you while doing it. though standing in it seemed to be like standing it a minor whirlwind, healable but easier to just avoid :P

After a long day of camping...not logging once (boredom & determination will make you do crazy things)...finally at 2:09 am Arygos realm time (12:09 am MST) she spawned. Dropped my trap but was angled all wrong, Jadefang totally missed my trap when I started the tame. The damage taken is nothing to worry about, tame finished with minimal health loss.

Now I wait for the vanity pet :)

A tip for Hunters looking to tame Jadefang: Tag him before taming. It may deter others from killing him once they notice the grey name. And if not, at least you'll get a pet out of it.

The guide above was helpful, however when I came upon Jadefang that particular daily wasn't up. I used my turtle to engage a gyreworm, and then triggered my Nitro Boosts. After a few tries, they backfired and I was able to Disengage onto the ledge. So, if the daily isn't up and you have Engineering, you can still get to Jadefang without messing with your internet connection.

I actually didn't even know the spot was a rarespawn - I was just questing along, when I accidentally sat on top of the bomb waiting for it to boom (I assumed it just did damage or a short knockback and so just stood back as normal most of the time lol) and got knocked away super far - and of course realized the implications. Then I noticed the upper ledges and how it let me just shortcut...and when I bounced from the ledge just to the right of the entrance to Jade's cave into there, I saw the fancy-looking (and huge) shale spider. Clicked on it and was excited just because rarespawns are fun...was very happy when I looted her and found that her drop was much better than just some random blue :D

I have no idea if this technique will work for any other class besides a rogue since that is what I play, but I found a way to get to Jadefang without needing engineering (even though I am one). While waiting for the cooldown on my boots to come back up I took the normal route to get to her as if you were going to use the bomb method. Once at the top of the ledge I jumped down onto the large dark green crystal below; now there are 3 crystals there under the ledge, a very tall grey/white crystal, and 2 dark green ones, shorter and taller. Get on top of the dark green one and target the closest Deep Spider to the ledge that Jadefang hides on. The spider will randomly path to the edge of the ledge and while jumping up and down and spamming shadowstep I was able to get up there without needing my nitro boots to fail.

**edit - upon trying to duplicate this scenario again I have so far been unable to. I do not remember if I was in the process of mounting when I was able to eventually get it, but I did definitely get up there with shadowstep from the top of the crystal.

Be warned people. If it is the daily quest 'Underground Economy' people may try to grief you, as what just happened to me.

Apparently the new trend is to drop bombs at the AFK person's feet so they get flung off the ledge and die due to the gyreworms down below. So camp in a corner, not out in the open.

I am not able to time the "pull the ethernet cable" thingy. I pull it at the entrance to the cave and then plug it back in when I get to the cave. I am a draenei, but stay on the gryphon whild dc'd. I figure it remains dc'd for about 6 or 8 seconds before I get the plug back in...I'm assuming that this is too long. Any ideas how quickly you must reconnect before it takes you to the log out screen?

Just tamed him on the Lightning's Blade server at about 8:50, exactly 6 hours after I started camping him this afternoon. I can't confirm a 6 hour spawn timer, but I do know I got incredibly lucky.

I got this baby twice, there was a horde already waiting for jadefang, but bad luck for him I got to the scene. I been trying to catch this baby for a while and finally got it… Twice! He is not hard to tame, and for sure the pet is awesome looking! His spawn time runs from 6 hours to 2 days.
There is a best way to get him without no problems, is good to have great guild master that can help from time to time. I thanks my since they know I’m a hunters for rare my passion is to find the rare and Tamed it! Ty Aessan great JOB~!

I decided to try camping for this fella this morning. Got up to the cave and had a worgen hunter follow me in after a couple minutes. Jadefang spawned several minutes later (about 1:20 PM est) as I was looking through these comments on my phone. I decided to be nice and let the hunter tame it, which I regretted. No thank you or anything.

I left for work at 4 and got back a little after 8, took a shower, and got online around 9. I figured a 6-12 hour respawn was pretty reasonable and decided to wait. He finally spawned at 11:20 PM, and I got my pet.

Someone may have got him while I was at work, but I didn't ask around, so I can't be sure of the spawn time.

I don't know if any rare spawns' timers are tied to each other, but I tamed Sambas at 9am and immediately went to Deepholme and npscan told me Jadefang was up.

I hadn't quested enough in Deepholme so the only way I could get up to him was to die below and rez above, and by that time he was gone.

Got this baby on my hunter not too long ago. Was healing a group on my priest, when my boyfriend let me know that npcscan just went off for Jadefang. I immediately dropped group, hopped on my hunter and headed out there.

Unfortunately, I couldn't get the daily quest for the bomb. However we found out that since he still had the bomb from it, he could use his toon to blow my hunter up into the tunnel too!

One minute after taming her, along come about 3 more hopeful hunters popping up into the tunnel, only to find me standing there with it. :D

Spawn timer is actually pretty low for a rare.... Killed Jadefang in the morning and about 8 hours later found jadefang again. This time around I alerted a few hunter friends, but by the time one got there, and I had to help the person into the cave and then up on the ledge with the bombs (they didn't have therazene rep), another hunter was already up there taming it.

On another note, the easiest way I have found is to actually run around so you're on top of the nearby ledge and then use the bombs to blow yourself up and over and you're good. I couldn't make it from the floor/anything on the floor, my little gnome is too short, but had no problems at all from that nearby ledge that is easily accessible.

I really want this - I the underground economy daily a few days ago and up popped the npc scan - but i had no idea how to get to the cave, so i missed it - but thankfully the guy who killed him showed us how to get into it

the daily is on and i've been camping for about 6 hours or so now, can't remember, its all a blur lol

a paladin logged on in the cave and told me that it was killed at 12 (assume thats server time) and wished me luck, and logged off

Just killed the mob @15:26. She spawned like around noon...ish. I was doing dailies when NPCScan went off. I couldnt get there with the tips (didnt have the bomb-daily) so did DailyHC. When I came back Jadefang was still up and i tried the plug cable thing again. I did it in a different way though...
I got on my mount, plugged the cable, and set my char to auto run. Then i inserted the cable again for 1sec, and plugged it again. I did this 3 times while flying for the "balcony" where Jadefang is. I didnt get disc'ed and just before i landed, i plugged the cable back in. The game resumed as normal, and i was able to kill Jadefang without any problem.

Just tame Jadefang, 13:20 or 01:20pm afther 14 hours camping. Dont know how much time pased befor 23:30 or 11:30 pm he/she was killed/tamed by someone, just info for next one to know how much he/she waited.
My recomandation is to come from time to time & use tip which I did, dont give in quest where you use bomb, its only 1 quest which you can give in anytime but you lose bomb which make posiblle to get to Jadefang. Nightelf; Im one can alweys wisp up but why die? Tame: Lounch Freezeng Trap, come closer & tame it while is frozen (works on many beasts!) Good luck :)

What if you find this rare in a day when there is no daily and your race is undead?

I would say: Get a UDP Flooder (or something else) to get you 2000k ping and fly from the entrance to the zone where it spawns. Sucks but.. works.

Just found this 15 minutes ago. I wanted the pet, and before i logged of wow for around 1 hour ago i putted my Druid into his cave. When i logged in 19:45 (10 hours after the Aerie Peak Server opened) i logged online and looked into the back of the cave, and there he was. A giant, shiny spider. I didn't check my mana, buffs or anything, i did even not turn into boomer, i just wanted the pet. I attacked and downed him on around a minute, i looted the pet and i'm very happy, such a cute companion(: Jadefang is very easy to solo, just heal a bit now and then, and it's not problem.
I'm a mount hunter, but i also hunt rare companions, and now this baby is added to my collection.
Hoping for to down Aeonaxx soon.

Btw i used the Wisp Walk method, just aggro some of the worms beneath the cave and make sure you're under the entrance of Jadefangs cave.

All this happend on Aerie Peak server, Eu.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but as of Tuesday's patch it appears you can no longer die at the bottom and rez up top. I tried today, and as I was flying back dead, it dismounted me a few seconds into the cave.

Took the time afterwards to finish my main quest line to open up the daily. Been camping for a little over 3hrs so far, nothin yet.

Edit: Over 5hrs straight, nothin yet. A Horde arrived about an hour ago, 10min later brought a friend and have been spamming Rain of Fire and the DK aoe. I made a macro so I've been spamming two keys on my keyboard back and forth for 50min straight. Frustrates me the lack of respect people have.

I have had some really really bad luck with this little Spider.

The other day I was ranting on with a friend over how I read in the Comments on Wowhead that this baby may not spawn for 72 hours straight.

So I decided to go into Deepholm to tame a purple colored normal Shale Spider.. At lvl83(You can see it coming, right?).

I went in the cave, unexpecting.. And there it was, NPCscan going wild. I had not completed enough quests to unlock the Bomb daily so I used the Lag Glitch to get up.

Because I was in such a shock of finding this rare I totally forgot I couln't tame it at lvl83.. So I had to put it down.. I am glad I still got the critter, though.

Now here I am, dinged 85, and camping this spot.

I play a Sub Rogue. I have Engineering. I tinkered Nitro boosts onto my belt.

I was in the cave doing the Pebble daily when NPCScan went off. There were other players in there as well. I paniced for about 5 minutes as I ran around the cave looking for this guy. i could not find him anywhere! Inside the cave or outside the cave.

Naturally I checked wowhead.com for the information on him. i read most the posts, watched the video's and paniced more because I didn't have the daily people were talking about.

My rogue is a goblin, so she has rocket jump. I thought that I could use that instead of the bombs used in the daily quest. I was wrong. I was wrong about 17 times. Panic ensued once more. Then I rechecked wowhead, and found the above post. Insperation set in!

While questing I replaced my items with my tinkers on them. ALL OF THEM. Paniced. Hearthed to Org. Over paid for the Nitro Boosts mats. And tinkered my belt up good. Took the portal back, hoping Jadefang would still be there (one of the longest trips in my WoW life). Found that Jadefang was still there!

Ran through the cave and jumped off the ledge onto the blue/green rock that is infront of Jadefang's cave. Stealthed......targeted a creature up there.......waited........paniced because i thought the nitro boost fail would unstealth me and I would have to steath again while panicing and falling....... checked wowhead for info on this........returned to the game........got ready for the fail>shadowstep>?>profit......hit the nitro boosts!......they didn't fail! THEY FAIL EVERYTIME I AM RUNNING FROM A WARRIOR IN AV! WHY COULDN'T THEY FAIL NOW? OH THE GOBLINITY!

I repeated this about 15 times (really) (with the panic).

Then it happened.

The plan worked!

The panic subsided......but the liquid courage i had been drinking had not.

I attacked without thinking. Without having a plan. But the plan worked you say? YES! IT WORKED! But the plan only covered the way to get up there. The plan did not cover the 2 levels Jadefang had me beat by, nor did the plan cover the liquid courge.

Jadefang had me beat before I knew what hit me. Panic ensued once more.

I returned and went through the motions again. About an hour and a half went by before another Nitro Boosts fail accured. But when it did, I was ready!

I shot up in the air and shadowsteped the creature. Then gathered my wits (both of them) and took screen shots.

I planed my attack for about fifteen minutes. Then went for the kill. Being two levels down and three sheets to the wind, I started my attack.

I shadowsteped it, ambushed, kidney shoted it, siniter striked, paniced, drank a health potion, spammed sinister strike, popped my evasion, hit everscerate.......looked at both of our health bars. Realized I was going to die..........and paniced again.

I realized, that in my panic I clicked on my saronite bombs on my action bar. The big target was perfectly around the beast. I left clicked..........wait for it............dropped the bomb.......wait some more...........and killed it!

I got the pet!

I believe in this plan so much, that I made an email address, signed up with wowhead, and posted this message (thats way too long).

This plan worked perfectly! Just have patience and nerves of steel :D

Thanks goes out to the original poster and to the guy that quoted the original poster! I owe it all to you guys!

Engineers:

For the Engineers out there, you can get this without the daily.

Position yourself close to the ledge but not too close so that the ledge obstructs you. Keep using Nitro Boosts until they fail and shoot you up in the air. Use your slow fall cloak tinker and be sure to press forward (I pressed and held forward while in the air) so you slowfall down onto the platform.

As a mage I have done this just, however I applied my own Slowfall spell beforehand. I'm sure that the engineering one will work just as well (you may not even need to slowfall if your close enough to the ledge, just remember to try move forward as your falling).

Good luck to the engineers out there trying this method. Took me about 9 or 10 tries for the boots to finally fail, but now I have my Tiny Shale Spider.

Note: If your a goblin, its even easier. You won't even need to be close to the platform, as you can just rocket jump mid air onto the platform.

Just killed this one, us Windrunner. Spawned when I was laying on the floor at 12:38 am. I got all excited and came and killed him.

I must say, I do think this is on about a 12 hour respawn, give or take. Simply because yesterday I came across a fellow priest that showed up and we got to talking. I had to leave so he saved me to friends and today he sent me an in game mail telling me that he killed it at 12:48 pm server time today. I did show up at 6 hours and no Jadefang, and I sat at the spawn spot for a couple hours with no luck. Kept coming back when I'd log out and log back in, I didn't wanna miss it. Afk'd a few times, even put my dk pet on aggressive thinking it'd spawn aggressive to me (was just a thought). But no, spawns neutral.

That said, I'm actually really loving my new vanity pet ^_^

Not sure how much this helps, but just to add.
I was just starting my dailies, noticed it was the bomb quest and made my decision of the day. I was gonna camp Jadefang.

I turned up at 10:46am (11:46am server time)
Jadefang eventually spawned around 12hours later at 11pm (12midnight server time)
I don't know when she was previously tamed/killed, I couldn't get an answer, but this does show a spawn timer in excess of 12hours.

Good luck hunters and pet collectors. I love mine, it's soooo cute :)

Decided last night to farm with a guildie and test how long the respawn was for us.

Jadefang killed at 0915. Camped until 1735 when it respawned.

Seems within the "average" window others are seeing currently.

I've both killed and tamed Jadefang, both times in the evening. (Not sure the exact time) Didn't have to camp for her either time, just got lucky and there she was.

I kept Underground Economy in my questlog for weeks to access the bombs. The easiest way to get to Jadefang's cave I find is to position yourself under the ledge which Pebble sits on (when his daily is up) and place a bomb just to the left of a clump of black rock that'll be just to your right. Mount up if you're a hunter/pet class, so you're pet doesn't run all over the caves like a lunatic. Might take a couple of tries to get up there, but once you get the hang of it it's pretty easy.

Turn around once you're on that ledge (so that you're looking down at where you've come from), and you'll see the entrance to Jadefang's cave on your right, next to a pillar. Place the bomb near the edge of the ledge (but leave yourself enough room to stand in front of it) and fling yourself to the cave. This part is easier than getting up to where Pebble normally is, if you're not patient enough to just run there yourself and skip the first step.

If you're a hunter and you use _NPCscan Overlay, you can hover over his spawn-point before entering the caves and check if he's spawned or not. Helps save a potentially frustrating trip blowing yourself up, if you're hunting casually.

I followed "Bombing Option #2" above but had a guildie actually shoot me up there with his "charge." Basically, we jumped to the aqua colored rock below the cave entrance where Jadefang lives with our better jumping mounts (Ram worked much better than Ramkahen Camel), dismounted, I stood right on top of guild member, he ignited charge, and we both flew backwards.

That was at about 1am ST. I only camped it for about 45 minutes before giving up, so I checked back in around 2:30am ST and no Jadefang. So I went to sleep and at 9:30am ST I logged right back in and there she was. Very easy tame for this BM hunter and it's a great pet for raiding because of the buffs it gives. This was on Dragonblight (US) server.

For anyone on The Scryers, tamed her at about 9:30 realm time after a 13 and a half wait time. That was a pain to wait, I don't have any add-ons to help out with that. To the two Alliance who didn't interfere with the taming, THANK YOU!

For any other Hunter-Engineers out there, you don't need the quest item to get up to the right spot.

I was able to get up to Jadefang's cave using a Nitro Boosts malfunction + Disengage (I got into combat by shooting one of the friendly shale spider mobs on the way up). Only pain is waiting for the 3 minute cooldown on the Nitro Boosts malfunction RNG - every time it works properly instead of malfunctioning you have to wait for the cooldown to try again.

Killed Jadefang for the mini-pet just a few min ago on Nordrassil, camping out and hoping for a tame later today if she respawns before bedtime.

I love the look of this pet so I had to have it after a couple of days of camping I found there to be to many people, so I went back and forth for a few hours.

Then I found him dead at about 6:05pm server time so I read his re spawn timer is about 6-12 hours, so I went back 11:45pm about 5 and a half hours after the kill and I did not see him so I camped till about 1:30am server then I got bored so I switched from my rogue to my hunter every 30 mins or so. Then finally as soon as I logged on to my hunter at 3:50am server time he was sitting right there!

I quickly dismissed my pet and tamed him in seconds I'm a level 85 so health wasn't an issue and BAM! My new pet :D!

So what I have found is that the re spawn timer seems to be 6 hrs+ but no more than about 18 hrs i believe. I hope this information helped.

I found a slightly different way to get up there. I was on my rogue, which I respecced subtlety JUST to help get up there. I stood on the pillar between Jadefang's tunnel and the edge of the one you usually blast yourself from. My friend who's a warlock with more range than I, had managed to get a mob at the entrance of Jadefang's tunnel to come to the edge where it was in my line of sight and I was able to shadowstep right to it, kill that mob and go collect my pet from Jadefang!

There was no daily up at the time and the server was about to be shut down for maintenance in 9 minutes, so when this actually succeeded I was thrilled.

She spawned for me today! I've been logging in and out in the cave (NE wisp form can still get up there as of 3/4/11). Today I logged in and she wasn't there... so I flew to check on the Pebble daily (not available). I died at the bottom of the cave, flew up, rezzed, and THERE SHE WAS! It took approximately 3 days; the longest I spent at one time was a 4hr stint. The spawn time was 1pm PST on WrA.

You can use the X-52 Rocket Helmet instead of malfunctioning Rocket Boots. The Helmet is a reward for the quest Back to the Chief! which can be found in Netherstorm. The Helmet has the same function as the malfunctioning Rocket Boots. (The Helmet has a 30 minute cooldown, so use it with care.)

Just tamed at 12:55pm Ysera(US), It was horde hunter there. But he already had Jadefang and the non-combatant pet. He logged over on his alliance charcater and told me Jadefang should've spawned 12am last night and should spawn at 12pm-5pm today and couple mins after he told me that Jadefang spawned! Im one happy hunter. Jadefang does hit hard at all, barely even put a dent in my 103k hp.

I wish i could thank that hunter,I was about to give up and go to sleep(been camping jadefang since 3am CST) all my charcater slots are full with alliance toons :(, I could send an in-game mail on the alliance charcater :)

Saw this at 2:45 server time today (rexxar) but by the time I read this thread and figured out how to get on the ledge someone else had got it.
So reading that spawn time was about 6-9 hours, came back 6 hours later and camped for awhile, no luck, bored and went to bed.
Only one of those nights I can't sleep so got up and camped it awhile, did the dailies (4am reset!), back up on the ledge and was typing an email and about to log off when she spawned! Woo hoo!
So it was 12.5 hours since last spawn (not sure how long she was spawned the first time, but surely not very long).

Sweeet! ... I just paid 1000G to have a lok with the daily quest "Underground Economy" and all I had to do was stand over top of her on my mount while she blasted me up onto jadefangs ledge, where i will remain until i tame her, wait for her to spawn again, then take her kid from her too. :)
the longest I've spent so far hunting rares is 13 -20 hr days in'a row hunting the time-lost proto-drake, the first 5 of which were spent hunting skoll to tame.
so now i can summon my drake and his kid (companion) ...when i have jadefang out, i will have the companion pet out with her, i love how they all look like a tiny version of the pet or mount lol.

hunting rares is one of the best ways to relax on wow and get away from the chaos of cataclysm
... imo, i find myself going back to the storm peaks just to soar and listen to the theme music. ;)

Just a tip for anyone who might be trying to camp this while tabbed out doing other things: Pin your back against the back wall of the cave. Some douchy druid keeps coming and trying to knock me out of the cave with his bombs from the daily and I had to do this to get him to go away, since the bomb won't knock me anywhere with my back against the wall the way it is.

I was trying to kill Jadefang, almost got him, but another hunter got first shot and stole the kill. This was at about 5:40 AM. I logged out in the cave to go to bed, logged in quickly after I woke up to see if the respawn was up, course not. Logged out, then back in about 15 minutes later. Stayed online for a few minutes, and suddenly Jadefang respawned at 2:45 PM.
Roughly a 9 hour spawn time for me, hope that helps anyone who's thinking of camping it. :)

I never did any extensive camping before, but I figured I would try camping Jadefang for the pet she drops. I started right around 12:00AM.

4:05AM - Start seeing things due to lack of sleep, freak out every minute or so thinking Jadefang spawned, oh what fun!
8:27AM - Start having connection problems
9:23AM - Still having connection problems, log on to find Jadefang spawned

Remember, this was my first time really camping a rarespawn...

My heart sunk into my chest. I tagged her ASAP and got the pet after almost 9½ hours of camping non-stop. I haven't gone to sleep yet. :D

I did not witness jadefang spawn she was just up the times i checked and stated.

I'm on the Onyxia server which has a very low population. On Tuesday night before servers went down for the maint. I got the rep to open the dailies an hour before they reset. I was able to obtain the quest with honored rep. Jadevang was up for hours already but the goblin to ge the quest was not. 10 min before servers went down dailies reset and I was able to go get the quest and get to jadefang.

I was on my hunter so i had to decide on the companion or the pet. I chose the companion first since i knew i would get jadefang again.

From the posts i have been reading and the videos I have watched everyone says u need to use the bomb twice. You only need to use it once. When you walk into the big room after passing the colossal gyreworm, just keep going straight to the tunnle opening. Enter and go to the left. At the end of that tunnle there is a ledge that drops back into the room you were just in. (most vids show you using the bomb to get here in the first place) Now for hunters you can use eagle eye at this point into the unreachable tunnle you see to the right. Jadefang spawns in the very back of the tunnle.

If jadefang is up, just line yourself up with the tunnle opening, drop a bomb from the quest, move forward in front of the bomb and wait for it to go off. There's no need to jump and try to time anything. Just stand tehre.

the first thing you need is laag alot of if, so open your browser ,go to youtube,find some hd video ,then open likes 40 one more in new tabs ,waited 30 second and my laag got 4 to 5 k,i was already on my flying mount just in front off the cave entrance ,got in and reached the spider platforms from the first attempt ;)

(have NPCscanner) When I logged in I was in Deepholm, did quests for like an hour. Got the dalies to pop up, so got the bomb quest and got myself up there (TY for the youtube vid) he was already gone when I logged in, and wasnt in my cashe. I sat there for 10 hours stright (holy crap that was long 10 hours) before the NPCscanner scared the crap outta me. Popped at 10PM server. I didnt bother to throw ice trap, but I did hit him once to tag him. So I went to bed and got back in to the spawn point 9 hours later (8am server), thinking that I would catch him for the companion kill. My other hunter buddy showed up at 10 AM server so I let him take the reigns. He sat there till 2:45 server when a CHEST spawned where Jadefang should have. That makes the gap go from 10 PM server one day till 2:45 PM server the next day (16 3/4 hour span). And then it wasnt even him that popped up. If that counted as his spawn, then I suppose that its on a 16 & 3/4 hour CD with a CHANCE that something NON-Jadefang would spawn. UNLESS it popped in the 9 hours I left the spot un-man'd while i slept which seems unlikley. So he finally tamed to at 9:15 server time. So like 23 hours apart, my math is bad sometimes. Then I came back the next day after that, Id estimate about 20 hours after my friend's tame, came and sat for several hours to have nothing spawn except a warlock in and out wanting him. Finally got sleepy and told the warlock to send tell when he comes across it, and he send a mail saying 4:30AM(ish). The next kill time is kinda unknown. One other friend was camping and a Q came up, when she came out he was dead prolly like 2-3AM server. The next time noted alive was 1:45 server, when I killed for the companion.

SUMMARY:
Start camp Saturday March 26 @ 1PM (going my time, not server now) for a 10 hour camp to have him show @11:04 PM
-Slept till 9AM Sunday the 27th, camped for 2 hours to give up spot to buddy (@11AM) -
-@11am gave up to friend he sits there till 3:45 when a chest spawned - Then the real Jadefang respawned at 10:15PM Sunday March 27th.

Got him 09:30 - 29-03-2011 on Mazrigos server. Went to the ledge and let myself die from the worms. Then used spirit, to fly up, and rezz on the ledge; Jadefang was looking right at me.

Tamed him as some kills havnt given the pet drop. Next time its a kill for the pet.

I just want to point out once again (it's written somewhere in the thread but I didn't notice it) that Jadefang spawns way down into the short tunnel.
If, like me, you don't use any addon and don't want to waste your time with a macro ("the tunnel is so short... I can't miss it!"), chances are that you will actually miss it.

Today I went to check if Jadefang was up, and just went under the ledge that gives access to the tunnel, with track beasts turned on: I saw three dots on the minimap but all of them were regular shale spiders. "Ok then, it's not there".
I took the tunnel that goes behind Jadefang's just to do my dailies, and saw another dot on the minimap. I'm not really sure why I checked it, but I did, and it was Jadefang.
I could have missed it even if it was there, only because I thought I would see it on my minimap when standing in the main chamber. Well, keep this in mind: you WON'T see it from down there ;-)

Arrived at 4.35pm, checked wowhead and confirmed a 7-20 hr spawnning time, i cant confirm weather it had been tammed at all previously.

None the less, i chosen the tame for Rivena. Enjoy screenie!

There was no bomb daily and me being my umpatient self. Tryed the ethernet cable disconnect without success

I asked a nelf friend for help took him there he died from mobs down the ledge then he flown up as whisp rezzed there and summoned me using "have group will travel" and I got it.

This works cause Nelfs in whisp form fly inside the cave

Was able to tame on my hunter alt w/o quest or unplugging ethernet trick.

It did require a friend though. Had a friend with a quest who could 'bomb' himself up to jadefang's cave. I jumped out of the tunnel next to jadefang's cave onto the silver pilar beneath jadefang's cave.

Friend aggro's Jadefang brings him to edge of cave. I launch a freezing trap to freeze Jadefang. Friend jumped out of his cave and ran far enough out of range where Jadefang would normally reset. Except in this case he was frozen.

You need to watch target of target and as soon as Jadefang isn't targetting your friend is when to start taming. I had failed attempts that made it through the whole cast because I believe Jadefang still was aggro'd to my friend while frozen. So wait until friend runs out of range of Jadefang. When you tame him, your new pet is ported to your side from out of the cave!

You can tell this is legit from my alt with Jadefang and only friendly with Therazane (can't get daily quest til honored).

I used the disconnect strategy and I had a difficult time. It took me maybe 20 tries, but I finally got it. One tip to try that worked for me, after about 4 seconds I put the cord back in then I actually pulled it out again a few seconds later, then back in again. Instead of doing it all in one go, that's what finally worked for me. Good luck!

I am pretty upset because my NPC scanner went off, I was able to target him, but I had NO way to get to him. I really want to tame him to add to my rare collection, but I don't have the rockets. :/

Pretty frustrating to know he is up and no way to get to him...

You dont need the daily quest, you dont need to die... You can use disconnect / reconnect wireless internet or ethernet cable to fly directly to jadefang's cave.

One request to all non hunters: If you see a hunter camping Jadefang, and if he spawns, Please let the hunter tame the beast, instead of you killing it just for a vanity pet.

If anyone was considering, as a hunter, to trap a mob to stay in combat and then using nitro boosts malfunction to get knocked up and disengage back into the cave mouth, it doesn't work. For some reason I left combat while I had a mob trapped upon getting knocked into the air.

I had to use the Engineering Nitro Boosts method as I refuse to do any of the Therazane quests as I'm a scribe and so do not wish to torture myself. As a Goblin Priest this method was relatively easy.

I used the boost at the bottom of the ledge, levitated myself immediately and waited until I was about the right height and used the Goblin Rocket Jump racial. Took me about 20 boost uses before they failed to work, but in this case, persistance isn't futile.

So far I've been camping solidly since 1.30am, it is now 10.00am and still no sign of her. I'll update when she respawns.

I'm desperate for this vanity-pet as it will be my 100th.

(Edit1: 2.30pm. No sign of Jadefang. 13 hour camping.)
(Edit2: 2.40pm. Jadefang spawned. Total time camping: 13 hours 10 minutes. Solidly, with no afk's.)

Now the proud owner of 100 vanity pets. :)

I checked his location everyday for several days at different times each day, and Jadefang was there, i believe that the quest npc is rarer than Jadefang itself.

If, like me you were stupid enough to not keep the daily quest around. Or simply don't have access to the quest yet.

It is possible to let a guildie or other player place the bomb for you and shoot you up to his platform.

We also tried sending a hunter pet at him to pull it like that, but sadly the pet couldn't reach jadefang.

As of April 19th 2011, the disconnect method still works. I had a buddy disconnect my ethernet cable about half way into the first room as you enter the cave. We counted to five seconds and reconnected the cable. Taking the left tunnel–at five seconds we were just entering the last room where we needed to be. I'd say about 20 yards away from the ledge. I dismounted and started casting spells–camo, laying traps etc.

If we waited any longer we'd make it to the ledge but then get disconnected. It took about five tries before we decided to do the five second method.

Jadefang wasn't there of course. I figured as much. I used the guild summons to summon an alt so I can camp the place. Once its there I'll just guild summon my hunter...

I used the bomb strategy, and it worked perfectly!

Camped Jadefang for somewhere around three hours, got seriously bored and tabbed out. I kept switching back and forth just to keep from getting DC'd and the last time I tabbed back in, there he was! I had a 85 Blood Elf Mage tag him before I could start taming him, but when he saw what I was up to, he immidiately apologized and went invisible to drop aggro. I'll never rip on male blood elves again! XD I made sure to thank him up and down for the chance to tame Jadefang.

In short, thanks to that mage, I now have myself a beautiful new pet to add to my Hunter pet collection!

Good luck to those hunting for him! I shall return for the vanity pet later on. =)

As for the three hour camp time, I got seriously lucky. ;)

Got her today on Hellscream @ 1510 local time (1410 server). Was camping for about 5 hours earlier this morning. I had to leave for a few hours and when I logged back in she appeared after about 35 minutes. I love my new tiny shale spider :-)

Confirming that the nitros failure + hunter disengage doesn't work, as the nitros blowing you into the air takes you out of combat, so you can't disengage.

I tamed Jadefang at 1:30a server time, Borean Tundra. Was doing my Therazane dailies and NPC scanner went off. I knew where to go and how to get there, thanks to this thread. I'd had the quest and bombs in my bag for a few days... I knew she would spawn eventually while I was doing the dailies in the cave. If you have a guildie who isn't able to do the dailies yet, like I do, you can use the bombs from the daily to blast them backward into the cave also, so they can tame her or kill her for the companion pet. You both have to mount up, run in and jump, landing on the broken green column. From there, making sure your friend is placed so that they will make it into the cave when blasted.. put the bomb down in front of them. You'll be blasted backward as well... in the other direction. If you want to join them for a camping session, then just mount up and run the circle back to where you jump on the column... rinse & repeat. We've already tested this and it works.

Tip: if Jadefang is not spawned and you have the daily, don't turn in the quest so you can come back and try to get the rare spawn without having to wait for the daily to be available again (and without having to unplug cords).

I just signed in to share my story:

After dinging lvl 85, I started taming pets that I found "unique" and almost every single pet I had in mind to tame, was a rare spawn. After having a lucky streak ( in 2 days I tamed 7 rares including Skoll, Numaroc, Ghostcrawler and more) my list came to a tiny Shalespider named Jadefang. After acquiring some information about Jadefang, I went into Deepholm to see if he's there. I flew to the Crumbling Depths, mounted up on my raptor and went further into the cave. As I went deep enough I triggered NPCScan. My heart was beating as hard as the drums on my npscan alert. Jadefang was there, just waiting me to tame him, but the quest giver wasn't there. Then a NE hunter came by and I could just watch him killing himself, getting on the ledge in wisp form, resurrecting and taming this tiny creature. The only thing left for me to do was /cry my eyes out.

There's a MUCH simpler way to get to him that everyone seems to be overlooking (or just not posting about).

When you get to the large room where his ledge is, go straight up the ramp that leads to the ledge next to his. Position yourself with your bomb and be blown right across. I did it in the first try on three different characters with no problems, and all three have the pet. However, I had a hard time with using any other strategy.

Don't let the white crystal on the wall concern you, you go right over it.

For the hunters that are somewhere between taming and killing:

Killing Jadefang will almost certainly drop the vanity pet, although I believe the 99% drop rate includes people who killed it twice so the pet wouldn't drop.

If you simply want to tame the only green shale spider in the game just for bragging, go ahead and be my guest.

If you care about stats, Jadefang has elevated resistances (in all schools of magic). Otherwise, same stats as Amthea which is just around the corner.

Zul'Jin server - Tamed Jadefang at 8:30pm 5/8/11

I was hovering above the spawn area outside the cave in the morning, NPCScan went off about 9am (can't say how much I love that sound), I flew into the cave (used the disconnect/reconnect method) got to Jadefang's cave and watched an 85 Orc Warrior killing Jadefang - dead at 9:10am. Came back around 3-3:30, no spider - camped for a few more hours and nothing. Went to Stonecore for a couple hours with a friend to kill Slabhide - no mount this time :P

Went back to Jadefang's cave around 5:30 - 6pm, no spider. Left for a little while, got back to cave at 6:30pm and camped until respawn at 8:30 - i was standing right at the back (nobody else there), tamed immediately - was about 11.5 hour spawn time.

I've read most of post's here and where people have stated they saw Jadefang either killed or tamed and then respawn, the spawn time seems to be mostly around 9-15 hours.

I'm planning to go back in the next week or two to kill for the vanity pet, as long as no Hunter is there for the tame. :)

I use Silver Dragon addon for rares and as I was randomly exploring the cavern it pinged with Jadefang. I had to look up on here about it as I had no idea, and being a 'companion' hunter I simply had to gain another little pet!
Since I'm engineering (and didn't have the daily bomb quest) I had to rely on Nitro Boosts to try and get up onto the ledge. I think I tried for half an hour and got bored when they kept working properly so I logged out.
I logged on the next day and Ricket appeared at the entrance to the cave with her daily! Talk about luck! I picked up the quest and followed previous posts for getting onto Jadefang's ledge. It worked perfectly from the green stone on first go, but no Jadefang. So I waited..... and got bored again.... and logged out.
Third day, lo-and-behold there's a chest sitting there begging to be opened. It contained 19s and some blue leather shoulders. I did a couple of random dungeons (half hour max) and prepared to log off again when suddenly Jadefang appeared! I now have my newest cutest little pet (number 107).

Hope my luck rubs off on those hoping to tame a cool spider or get a cute pet!

May 12th Jadefang spawned 1:45 am (Tamed by friendly kind hunter)
May 12th Jadefang spawned 12:34 pm (Tamed by me - finally)
Likely a spawn in here somewhere - ?
May 13th Jadefang spawned 4:04 pm (Killed for companion pet by me)
*Very few others around during all the hours camping - other than the hunter who tamed him first... and was so very helpful to me with information and .... even called me to Twilight Highlands to get Karoma!***

Just killed jadefang at 16:00 on may 15.
Being a hunter, I stayed for the tame and camped the spot for 9 hours, went to bed, checked again at 7:00 monday morning. He wasn't there. Checked again at 7:45 - bam - there he was. So this time respawn took approx 16 hours.

First time I tamed, Second time i killed him. So now I have a "Mother-Daughter" pair of Green Shale Spiders!

VERY IMPORTANT regarding the bomb method of reaching Jadefang---- there are other ways!

the daily quest to get the bomb item referred to can only be accepted if you've got the appropriate rep with Therazine- see below comments to see what the rep needs to be.

in fact, without the appropriate repuation with the faction, you can't even SEE the quest giver at the opening of the cave.

SO- if you don't have it, don't panic, and don't go wasting a week getting the rep! read on for other methods- ie: coasting in and/or death below!

personally, being a nelf, i pulled a worm under the ledge (be sure you have the right ledge. i'm just sayin. no point dying twice. >.> um. yeah.) and let it gnaw me to death. took ages (seriously- i'm a hunter. i'm made of cardboard, and yet it takes AGES to die by worm?) anyway- wisp'd back and up to the ledge, then parked there and waited.

doing dungeon or bg queue is a good way to kill the wait time, but i just spent the day leveling another toon, logging over every hour to see if jade had spawned yet. at 6pm, i got lucky :) (screenie showing my hunter and jade pending approval) XD
YEAY!

and now for my companion! >:D

Have had the daily in my list for over a week now, just drop by and check, long out there, do a random, whatever and return to visit and check when I can. Logged in a little bit before 8 pm eastern on Norgannon and turn around, bingo, there he is. Now I have to figure out a suitable name.

I have been camping for a few hours waiting for her. If a hunter comes along, whomever gets her first gets her first. This goes for hunters and anyone who might be after the pet.
Just because it's a hunter trying for Jadefang doesn't mean they get any extra consideration because I'm only going for the vanity pet.
However, I have come across others camping and went about my way, since they were there first. That would be the only consideration I give.
It's hubris to think that a hunter should be given first shot, just because they're a hunter.

The unplug-trick still works!
After you unplug the cable (still flying ofc) count ~6 seconds and plug in it back, in room with big worm use left turn (it's ~1.5 second faster than right) and after landing use any spell/skill etc.
I did it after 5-6 attempts and after landing i got dc, but fortunately npcs managed to show and server saved my position ;-).

And now i'm another proudly owner of the Tiny Shale Spider :D

After hours of trying various things including many things suggested I was about out of ideas.

Being Horde I didn't have access to a Nightelf, my low latency made the Ethernet cable unplug trick seem impossible, and the daily quest wasn't up.

Then a guild mate of mine who was helping me out noticed I was able to place druid mushrooms fairly far back onto the ledge but still in LoS. He suggested to bring his Sub Rogue (only lv67 lol) and try shadow stepping one of the mushrooms. I summoned him to the spot (beware of worms for lower levels), dropped a dual flag and he successfully shadow stepped a mushroom onto the ledge. I logged on my main and he guild summoned me up there where I was able to kill Jadefang and claim my pet.

I used the disconnect method as well when I caught Jadefang on a daily-less day. For me, though, just unplugging the cable wasn't enough since it would boot me from the server pretty fast and I'd only make it to the colossal gyreworm room. Alternating plugging and unplugging my ethernet cable worked and I made it to the platform.

Just did everything I was meant to with Ricket's Tickers to propel me onto the ledge. NPCScan alerted me that Jadefang had spawned on the ledge, but she was not there. Nobody else was on the ledge, and there was no corpse...

I tried various ways of getting up the ledge as a warrior. none of them worked.

1) tried heroic leaping from the nearest crystal, this obviously no longer works
2) tried pulling one of the other spiders with my bow to put them into charge range and charge up - this *would* work except for the fact that I could not after 15 minutes of repositioning get a single shot on any of these spiders... the angle from the crystal in front of the ledge is too steep to be able to shoot the mobs with your bow.

did manage to get him though, late at night, NPCscan didnt go off till I was already well-inside the cave, used the bomb to get up and looted him!

It seems that the Nitro Boosts "exploit" has been "fixed" for those attempting to reach Jadefang's location. If Nitro Boosts fail while an engineer is attempting to reach Jadefang's ledge, the malfunction now appears to give the beloved Rocket Fuel Leak debuff instead of shooting you up into the air.

I believe the spawn timer is around 12 hrs. I decided to tame this pet after seeing it spawn on another server. I used the quest method of getting up there (using the bomb to launch myself on the ledge). I went there a couple days ago and saw another hunter waiting, so I logged off. The next day they told me they tamed it around 3:15pm server time (2:15 PST), I waited until about 10:30pm ST and nothing, logged on again about 4:15am ST and it was there, so I tamed it. Came back at 3:15pm ST the same day and there it was again. I'm on Icecrown if that helps.

While doing my Therazane dailies, npcscan triggered for Terborus (which I killed) and then for Jadefang immediately afterwards. Confused about Jadefang's location I came here and saw the disconnection trick and daily trick, but today the bomb daily wasn't available. On my mac I tried my own method.
I ran out of the cave and mounted my flyer, started flying in and turned off airport, flew into the hole where Jadefang spawns and turned airport on again. Waiting to DC I was stunned to see that after about 10 seconds I didn't DC and instead was back online. I killed Jadefang and looted the spider.
Maybe the Windows equivalent works, turning off internet and just flying in there then turning it back on.
Either way I'm really happy with my new little pet (99/100)
And now.. back to farming Aeonaxx, what I was doing in Deepholm for the last 11 days to begin with.

I agree with loveablenight with regards to the spawn timing. Jadefang was killed before I could get to him today at around 8:30am server time on Thunderhorn, and I was able to tame him tonight at around 8:30pm... right around the 12-hour mark. Obviously, the spawn time will always vary, so we can't definitively say it's 12 hours on the dot, but it's a good ball-park figure.

Funny thing is, tonight I'd decided to practice the disconnect trick so I would be prepared for an actual Jadefang spawn. I was having trouble doing it, though, and because it took forever to successfully get up onto the ledge, I figured I'd leave my hunter there whenever I logged out and not move her from that spot until I was able to tame Jadefang, however long that took. Which, as it turned out, wasn't very long. About twenty minutes later, I was watching a movie with my husband when I happened to look over and saw that NPCScan had gone off. I lunged for the computer, threw down an ice trap, and the rest, as they say, is history. :)

I'd love to find him again to get the little companion to use when I have Jadefang out - do the big pet / little pet thing - but I just can't bear the thought of killing him. He's too cute... and too rare.

If you did indeed find that false lag idea as brilliant yet irritating as I did after about 10 attempts, try as someone else mentioned and unplug/plug several times on your way there. This is the only way I was able to do it.. I unplugged for about 2 seconds, and plugged it back in, then just a moment later removed it. I was doing the dailyes with my hunter when i saw jadefang. I jump on my priest so i decide to give a try to the Dc trick but after 2 attempt i tried to get a guiddie over. He comes(oh btw he was a DK niteelf) so he did the flying spirit thing and we (well he since i never had the LOS) kill jadefang and no cigar for me. He was the only seeing the loot so i got me thinking about having a nite elf rezzing class might make it possible.

ps my guiddie got the achievement can i keep him....
so thats my 3rd sighting of jadefang in less than a week

I can't belive how lucky I have been. I know alot will hate me for this :p

Im a hunter and a hardcore pet collector. Yesterday around 3pm I want to check if Jadefang was there....the NPC scan went off and gave me a heart attack as always. I quickly started to Tame it and BLAM...I got Jadefang as my hunter pet. BUT...where was the vanity pet? Some idiot told me I got both when I tamed it. So it was a big facepalm moment right there.

Today at around 7pm I was bored and went back to the Jadefang location to just camp wile doing other things on my computer. About 10-15min later the NPC scan went off again (I had deleted the cache). Jadefang was back! So now I finaly got the vanity pet (number 160)! Yeyz!

As of 4.2, the Night Elf strat still works. But if you're NOT a Night Elf and can't get the daily, here's one thing you can do:

REQUIRED:
Night Elf friend with Have Group, Will Travel (guild perk)

Have your NE friend die right under the position of Jadefang (in the tunnel below his chamber).
NE Friend releases, flies back, but goes into the upper chamber where Jadefang is.
NE Friend summons you via Have Group, Will Travel
Kill or tame Jadefang

I started camping this today about 10pm server time (not sure the exact time) and within a few minutes of finding my way onto the ledge (bomb method) I sighted a hunter running around with the tame Jadefang. I sent a tell and she said she had tamed him about four hours prior. Assuming her time was close to accurate, the 12 hour spawn was pretty close. I had been off and on all day, with a few hours break to run dailies and eat etc (I'm playing on an American server while living temporarily in Japan, so my afternoon is early morning server time) and about 7:45am server time, I tabbed back in from reading a web page and found him sitting right in front of me. He'd obviously spawned within the last five minutes. Quick kill and the pet was mine! Yay!

For some reason NPCscan didn't alert me. I had downloaded it just that afternoon for the very purpose my this hunt, so that was a disappointment. I think it has something to do with the cache options.

Just killed Jadefang on Genjuros Server (needed the Tiny Shale Spider more than the combat pet)

It spawned into the cave, at a place un-reachable via a walking path.

All you have to do if you find your self into my situation is to use the Ricket's Tickers from Underground Economy quest,
and sit on the bomb, facing the direction you want to "fly" to ;)

Finally nabbed this one after camping her for nearly all day (since around 10AM). Camped fairly straight, just by using dual monitors to keep an eye out for it, but I AFKed for about two hours. Came back and logged in at 9:15PM and wasn't even in for a minute as I watched her spawn right in front of me. I'm willing to guess it was right around the 12 hour mark.

On a fairly low-to-medium pop server (Drak'Tharon US) and only saw one other player all day, who didn't seem to know why I was there.

I used the DC method; flew in, immediately DCed myself, took a left at the fork, and when I was around 1 second from the ledge I flipped my net back on. Got to the ledge after a few botched tries, started casting, and the server barely caught up before it booted me anyway. However, when I relogged, I was still there.

I sat with my back to the wall in a cubby hole about halfway down the cave and pointed my camera at the back wall. I also used (and highly suggest using) my Winter Veil Disguise Kit, as it makes you immune to all knock-backs.

I'm not sure if the disconnect trick has been fixed or if I'm just having terrible luck with it, but jadefang is spawned right this second, no one is around, and I get all the way to the ledge every time only to be dc'd and log in right where I started. Getting really frustrated, because I know the day I finally get the quest I know I'll never see her again. T-T

Alas I fear you have all been doing it the hard way with all this unplugging your net stuff. You can simply bomb-launch yourself from the place where pebble spawns, you don't need to jump to the rock.. just place the bomb in the middle of the ledge. Move 6 inches in the direction of Jadefang's perch and wait. Seconds later you arrive on Jadefang's ledge ready for your many hours of camping pleasure

Had no idea when Jadefang last spawned, I camped in its cave for about an hour.

Used the bomb trick to get up there. It has been explained plenty of times how/where to go.

NPCScan went off at 14:32:38 server time. (That's 2:32 PM and 38 seconds for those of you who can't read 24-hour time). This was on the Ysondre PvP server.

i have the easiest way for a night elf to go there, i don't know if the others can do it. just get under the entrance of the tunnel. pull a mob and get yourself killed. when released you will have a flying wisp (there is where i don't know if the other classes will have a flying spirit, i suppose yes as a flying mount). so you go up the entrance of the tunnel and you release. here you go you reached it without any quests.

i got that idea when my npc_scan went off and i wanted it so bad. so the quest was not there. and a mob started to attack me and i had that crazy idea and it worked.

I don't know if someone mentioned it, but you can ALWAYS have the bomb available.

I saw jadefang when I didn't have it, gave up, saw it today again and it was dead.

But now I have the quest which gives the bomb!

I will NEVER complete it, so I can always jump here.

So if you don't have the quest, no problems, check everyday and as soon as you get it keep it on your quest log until jadefang has been killed and you get the pet.

I will put some details on the respawn rate when it respawns, although from your comments it seems 8-14 hours.

ULDAMAN realm; my NE Hunter was able to tame Jadefang at 9:15 am realm time (used the Night Elf die below ledge and & wisp form fly up to ledge to resurrect); he spawned as I waited (for about 1 hour camping).

I went back at 8:40 pm the same day and used the same die and wisp up to the ledge; Jadefang was already there again; this time I was able to acquire the little guy as a companion pet, too.

Dislike seeing ~6 pages of people talking about using the bomb method or disconnect method of getting up there. Unless you have new information, why the hell are you posting the SAME thing?
It would be much appreciated to know spawn timers, rather than how to do the same two methods of getting up to this rare.

After a bit of research, I set off to camp Jadefang a few days ago. After a few hours of nothing, I got bored and logged for the night at about 2am ST. I logged in at about 7am and saw a hunter sitting in my spot with the tiny shale spider. He told me he had found Jadefang at 5am and was camping again to tame him. After I told him of the 12-hour respawn timer we both hearthed and I didn't return til 4:30pm. Right on the dot at 5 he spawned and I got my main my first shale spider. I was surprised the respawn timer was so accurate so I decided to test it again by bringing an alt to Jadefang's cave at 5am the following morning. BAM another spawn, a 2nd spider. I then brought my friend's paladin there at around 5pm but he wasn't there. I logged back in on the pally no more than 20 minutes later and he was spawned, yet again! So give or take about 15 minutes of him sitting around waiting to be killed, and maybe another 3-5 for him to despawn, he is definitely on a 12-hour respawn.

*Edit* Caught him again on npcscan at 2pm earlier today and promptly brought my paladin over for another spider and came back to Deepholm while trying to level my hunter in time to tame him on his respawn. By the time I was around to that area, npcscan went off yet again but at midnight. My hunter was not high enough to tame him yet so I killed it for a 5th pet and continued on my quests. It's safe to say his respawn timer is at MOST 12 hours, but not necessarily that long, as my most recent kill took only 10 hours to spawn.

I went the unplugging the router way. I was farming in Deepholm when my NPCscan went off while I was in the tunnel below. I quickly got on here and saw all the stories about unplugging the router and flying to the ledge. Well, I tried it. I had my roommate unplug the router and plug it back in just before the ledge. However, I disconnected and figured I would be back near the entrance, but I wasn't. I was right in front of him. I quickly killed him and got the companion. YAY!

Now if my luck would just turn around like this with the Time-Lost Proto Drake. ~_~

Updating with my dates: I started camping for him at 9 a.m. this morning, I went away from 9.45 to 11.30, I came back and camped till 7.50 p.m..

Mcflurries' post gave me more trust, and I said: "Well, if it's really 12 hours I can do it", so I went forth and some minutes after 7.50 p.m. npc scan pop up, I turned back and there he was.

Easy fight as an 85 arms warrior, for sure killing him it's not the problem.

He dropped an useless item and, as always, the tiny shale spider.

As far as I can tell, he didn't spawn while I was away, he probably spawned at almost 8 a.m., the 12 hours seem very possible to me.

Anyway, from my times, for sure 10 hours are required.

Good luck on finding it, it was VERY boring staying there doing nothing, but luckily no one else came camping him except me today, and the realm is quel'thalas.

There was a previous comment about turning Airport off, on Macs. That's what I had to do. Mounted up, turned off Airport at the mouth of the cave. Flew in, (turned Airport back on) nabbed Jadefang and got my tiny spider. :)

So, I just got to Deepholm, and I'm flying around looking for rares before I go do my dailies, and I found Jadefang. Now I know that he is underground, and tricky to get to. I was thinking about doing the DC trick, but I used the Teleport to Graveyard Gm tool instead of dieing on a random mob. Now, I'm back in Hyjal, and it's still up.

I'm at 82. I don't have access to any of the dailies, and I don't know where any of the entrances are for the cave. I feel so screwed. :l

I'm on Terenas for anyone who wants the kill.

So, I do the dailies I had, and Jadefang is still up when I get back. :l\

Edit: Can't do the dc trick. The router is rooms away, and I would get yelled at by everyone if I unplugged the Ethernet. @#$%...

Found Jadefang while being bored looking up rares in Deepholm. Found him roughly 2:25am on Sen'Jin, killed around 2:45 because it took me so long to figure out how to get to him because I didn't have the daily lol. Honestly the best thing, especially if you're a night elf is to die directly under the ledge and resurrect up ontop of it. Thank god wisp form is useful for once! Cute little spidey pet for my worrying over 20 minutes like "%^&* where the hell is that damn spider..." while also thinking, for some reason, of the spider pig song...

Found Jadefang 3x in the last couple days on Llane US server. Thought I'd list the times. These are server times.

The 1st spawn time was def a 12 hr timer. I logged on that morning to do the daily Peeble quest and found him. Killed for a friend then logged for a couple hours. Logged back on at 11am to camp. Stayed on till he spawned again exactly 12 hours later. Logged on this morning at 11:30am and not spawned. Then logged on again at 1:47pm and he was there. Not sure if he spawned prior to the last kill. I would guess that he did.

Tamed Jadefang today (8/15/11) at 12:30pm CDT on Korialstrasz server. I was back on the ledge on my mage for the minipet at 12:30am, so he's not on a 12 hour respawn on this server. Wasn't able to check at 6:30pm and 8:30 pm for 6 and 8 hour respawn checks. Will check again at 2:30am for 14 hour respawn. No respawn at 14 hours.

Spawned again around 2:20pm CDT 8/16/11 and again at 7:40am CDT 8/17/11.

I pretty much camped him yesterday from about 10:30am to 2:20pm when he spawned. I switched toons and camped again from 3:20 til 5:30; then again from 12:00am-1:30am. Jumped on this morning before work and he was there at 7:40am CDT. Given the fact that I didn't camp the whole time and calculating from spawn to spawn, he's spawning on Korialstrasz about every 17 hours or so. I still have 2 toons that do not have the minipet, so will be camping him today (8/17/11) beginning around 9:40am CDT.

The easiest method I found for getting up onto the ledge didn't involve any daily quests at all. All you need is a flying mount.

All you do is mount up right outside the cave entrance, where it will let you ride flying mounts. Disconnect your internet connections quickly (pull the Ethernet cable or shut of your wireless), fly to the ledge inside the cave while your computer tries to reconnect to the server, and then as soon as you land on the ledge, reconnect your internet. If you did it fast enough, you'll be on the ledge without having to wait for any kind of daily quest!

Just got this on my GFs toon using an old trick from the minefield achievement on Storm Peaks: a funny lil software called Net Limiter. Standing on the mouth of the cave, add a Rule for 120 B, and fly your way to the ledge. As soon as you land there, Alt+Tab to Net Limiter and remove the Rule. As soon as you alt+tab back to WoW, the mobs will appear back again - you'll be connected, live, and good to go.

Jadefang is a wonderful exotic pet for both pve and casual pvp.

Its buff essentially translates to the druid's "Mark of the Wild" and like other spiders it has a web trap that sticks mobs or enemies in place.

It is a tenacity pet so if you spec it right, it will hold aggro very, very well in pve situations/soloing. I can aggro several of the level 83 elite dragons in the pale roost and, like a pro tank, Jadefang can hold their attention with minimal effort on my part.

I also confirm that using the bomb is a great method to getting into the cave. I'd get in on the first try every time!

All in all, get this pet!

I got the quest required for this and as a Nightelf Hunter I could not make my mind up what to do. Kill or Tame.
I did the bomb method and got up 1st time.
I then camped out. I did Alts and logged back ever 30 mins to see if Jadefang spawned.
After 8 hours he did. I went BM and tamed him. (normally a MM)
I decided to camp out some more and keep logging back ever 30 mins.
The following day (approx 24 hours) it spawned again. I then killed Jadefang with my Jadefang pet and got the little Pet which took me to my 100 pets tally.

I was most sad to see that he wasnt up when i arrived and was going to have to camp..this was at 5:30pm server time. Four hours camping? Sure, I'll take that. it is realy easy to get to the cave where jadefang is:

1- die under the cave
2-while in spirit form, fly to the tip of the elevated cave and accept ress
3- tame/kill jadefang

If you want to get the pet that drops from Jadefang and you don't have the daily all you have to do is be a night elf, die right under the ledge where he is spawned and then fly back into the cave and retrieve your body but only when you are over the ledge. You will be able to do this since you can fly while dead so long as you are a night elf.

This is how I got the pet without having to wait for a silly daily. :)

This mob is no longer tamable unless there is a trick to him. I had no issues getting up to him, but kept getting the "Can not be tamed" message. so i tried to damage him a little at a time and tame , but never could he him. Immune to traps also. not sure if this is new to 4.2 or what, but was very disappointed he couldn't be tame.Just did this 10 minutes ago. so this was as of 9/9/2011.

Just got Jadefang as a combat pet and companion pet in about 24hours. hehe I was camping out from around 6pm EST on Sat. Sept 10, 2011 and gave up and went to bed. My husband woke up at 6am feeling sickly on Sun, Sept 11, 201 and he said it seemed like it may have recently been killed or something... NPCScan said it had been there recently... bu it definitely was not there. Unless someone had her as a pet running through there. Then I woke up at 9AM EST, took my dogs out, and sat at my computer and signed on around 9:10AM and NPCScan was like "TAH DAH!" So I tamed her. YAY! Then went about my business for the day. Had my husband toss me up on the ledge around 4:00PM this afternoon... and just now at about 8:05PM I went back into the minimized WoW screen and there she was again! :D Killer her butt, and got the companion pet. Weeeee :) Now I have matching combat and companion pet. I am SUCH a girl. So I am guessing respawn is quite wide--- between 6 and 12 hrs :-\

Just killed Jadefang, 17.09 server time, Azjol-Nerub EU.

Used the bomb trick which worked perfectly on the first try. Camped the mob for a few hours. I did the jump this morning, around 11.00 and he/she (don't want to offend anybody) wasnt' there, so I waited a bit then logged to do something else. Logged back at the end of the tunnel right where he/she (again) spawns at 17.09 and there he/she (they) was, right on top of me. Lucky!

I have this companion on 3 of my characters, and my hunter has a it for a pet as well. I used two different strategies to help me get Jadefang, and I spent very little time overall doing it!

Strategy #1 - Works great if you are attempting to get Jadefang on a character that you aren't actively playing all of the time.

This strategy simply involves getting the daily, bombing your character up on the ledge, and then logging your character out where Jadefang spawns (assuming that he isn't there). You can then log in off-and-on over the coming days to see if Jadefang has spawned.

Strategy #2 - Works great if you are attempting to get Jadefang on a character that you use all of the time and you have an alt that you aren't actively running around.

Take your alt that isn't too busy and camp the spot. This requires getting the daily, bombing your alt up on the ledge and then camping the spawn over the coming days. This strategy also requires that the character for whom you are attempting to obtain Jadefang has the daily as well. When you do find Jadefang with your alt, simply log out and log in your other character and then hustle as quickly as you can to the cave. Again, make sure that your character has the daily quest that allows you to bomb yourself up on the ledge. It'd be a shame if you found Jadefang with your alt, and then got there with your other character only to realize that you don't have the daily.

I realize that my strategies won't work for all, but I suspect that they will work for many players, since many of us have an alt or two sitting around doing nothing.

found an easy way to get this pet. if your a night elf, allow yourself to die inside the cave where jadefang is. come back as a whisp. in whisp form, you can fly in the cave wher you other wise cant. once you fly into the cave where jadefang is, resurrect and claim your body. once you have your body, you gota decide whether or not your gona kill jadefang and get the companion or tame it. up to you on which you choose.

Ok so i couldnt do the cable thing and neither the daily q . Heres what i did. On windows xp go to the firewall in control pannel and click "do not allow exceptions" . Instant lag. Fly with mount there go back to firewall settings turn it off and its done :P You can tame your spider.

After doing the die and DC for hours, I changed my 85 UNDEAD hunter into a NE Hunter. Died and got on the ledge, and JadeFang spawned right then! Now I have every Shale Spire Pet! AWESOME! Gonna wait for her to come back so I can get the Companion. Good luck to everyone!

As of 4.2 (this posting) having a NE wisp fly up there still works. Also, you type /tar jadefang (or /tar jad for short) to see if it's even up there.

I tried for about 20 mins to have my warrior/rogue somehow charge / heroic leap up from where pebbles sits. I couldn't get it, I came back on my rogue and tried to shadowstep behind one of the spider mobs near the lip of the ledge, but they wouldn't wander close enough to the edge for them to be in LoS. (I should say that I didn't have the daily that gives the bomb that would launch me up there).

A horde char came by with the bombs and tried to work his way up there, I attacked him, and he killed me, but then he ended up leaving because he didn't actually try and target the mob and didn't know it was actually up there.

I had a guildie of mine on a NE so I summoned him and had him aggro something and die (he was only 50 so as soon as he zoned in he died, lol). He flew up and spawned and then summoned me and now I've got a new pet ^_^.

15/Oct/2011. 85 Rogue. Seems Blizz may have fixed this, as I was dismounted from my flying mount just inside the cave, both while alive and dead. Tried several times with same result. Looks like it has to be done the hard way. :-(

Florinutz's way works open control panel and turn off excpetions so fly and u kno wehre the greyworm is circling? turn left by where the rocks are it looks like its caved in then turn excpetions back on and fly there i got auto dismounted right at the edge GL

I just got too this guy without anybombs on my rogue.

Firstly I didnt know about this mob until i started to collect pets.
I went too the cave and /tar jade and he was there. moved too the location but it was above me.

Got confused, went here, saw u had to use some bomb.

Jumped to the green stone, waited on one of the normal spiders to get close to me.

Shadowstep too it.

GG I now have my very own new pet :)

Rogues can shadowstep up there confirmed, just stand on top the the highest point of the green pillar and a shale spider will soon come close enough. Waited for like 5 minutes on the pillar on my ally rogue just to get up there hahaha. Happy hunting! ^^

Today my friends and I were flying in Deepholm and we found it via npcscan. We finally found the ledge it was on, but we couldn't find the daily quest giver to get the bombs. We tried the whole "fly in and disconnect your internet" thing - worked like a charm. She flew in, disconnected airport, made it to the ledge and waited a few seconds. Once the game caught up, she was able to get to Jadefang. :D

I had to use a combination of certain methods before I could get to Jadefang's ledge without the quest.

Using the idea of the False Lag Method, I disconnected my wireless and went the route we were directed to do- go in, go right, go right, go left, ledge, reconnect. By the time I got to the ledge and hit reconnect, I disconnected. I tried this a few more times, got variably faster, but it never worked.

My next method was to disconnect my wireless, go left where the worm is, and fly to the left ledge- the one you would see the second you got into the room. After about four tries, I did manage to finally get on that ledge. When I saw the tunnel worm, I realized I'd made a mistake. Big Tip: If the ledge you're trying to get on has a tunnel worm, it is not the right ledge.

My last method was to disconnect my wireless, fly in, go left where the elite tunnel worm would be, fly into the room, reconnect my wireless halfway across, land on the ledge and a few seconds later I'm back in the server(I could tell because three deep spiders greeted me). The WoW client still disconnected me, and if that happens to you, do not panic. If you got to cast a spell or saw mobs before you were disconnected, you got there.

I'm now camping for Jadefang; I've been here two hours and thirteen minutes and he has not spawned. I'll keep waiting. Good luck, and if you try the False Lag method, I'd suggest trying out a few to find the one that works. It will take a few tries.

I used the bomb daily to get up there and camped for 3 hours before raid. Someone else was camping there for about 5 hours before I arrived and he/she had to leave. So, there were 8 hours I knew of that have gone by when I had to leave for raid. I had to hope it wouldn't spawn during raid. I went straight back to camping after raid (about 3 hours later). Random people would show up and luckily, no one stayed. My npc scan didn't go off when it spawned, so I'm not sure how long it was sitting there before I noticed it (maybe 1-5 min). Luckily, no one came by and I had an uncontested kill. In total, there were at least 15.25 hours of nothingness.

I found Jadefang at 3:57pm on Runetotem, a pretty easy fight for a level 85, when the npc scan found him, i used Ricket's Tickers (i saved them, you never know :P) quickly, took some pics and got my companion!

I got it about 2:41pm (Aerie Peak). Got the quest from Ricket (had to wait 3 days for her to be there), past the Elite worm I followed the tunnel to the right and then the first left. Placed the bomb at the end of the tunnel. Took 2 tries but I finally shot right into the tunnel. Had to wait a bit for Jadefang to respawn but it was an easy fight and I got my pet. GL to any of you going for it! :)

Just a quick note to say the bomb trick worked like a charm! I blew my warrior into the cave right before noon, and only had to camp until 2:35 PM when Jadefang spawned in the back of the cave. The fight was over quickly, and now I have a really nice tiny shale spider pet! If you are a pet collector, it is definitely worth the effort. By the way, I'm on Borean Tundra. Good luck!

Killed twice now - once for me at around 5AM server using Ricket's Tickers, once about 4 days later after clearing my NPCScan cache for a guildie - for this one I had to do the D/C trick, unplugging and plugging in the ethernet cable in about 4 second intervals (anything longer and it would D/C me, any shorter and it would dismount me). My Have Group Will Travel summon was on the 2h CD so I couldn't summon him up and you can't drag him down - completed the kill, accidentally looted it with autoloot, then petitioned the GMs to have it moved - since my guildie was on the "tag list" the GM moved it for us and I was given a handsome reward.

If only I could get this lucky with my Aeonaxx and TLPD camping or the Anzu drop or... you get the idea. Pfft!

The place where the mob is is difficult to get to BUT...
Just die next to the entrance, corpse run to the spot.

After reading some posts, I got there on top of the crystal rock and tried using my engineer boots but it didn't fail. As I was waiting a horde priest came and I realised I could just die and ress on top so I clicked on my naked gear set and aggroed the first mob, the priest helped kiling me. While he was using his quest (probly from a previous day) to get there I ressed and killed the mob. When he got there I /lol him b4 killing him too.

Used the daily item to get up there and then just left my Char there for the last few days and checked back and camped for a few hours whenever I had time. Not much competition, had the place for myself most of the time.

I Just attempted the method of disconnecting the network cable. It still works, took me 6 tries until I got it right. Then I had a dilemma...taming Jadefang or kill it to get Tiny Shale Spider...I killed it for the companion/Littlest Pet Shop!

A few remarks:

SilverDragon did not detect it from outside, only when I clicked on it, already inside the cave and in front of it
_NPCScan did not detect it at all
I found it from outside the cave due to Track Beasts
Gotta have Exotic Beasts to tame, he is Exotic

Yes die. While a ghost you can still fly in those tunnels. Just die close to the tunnel jadefang is in and rez while in the tunnel and boom. camp away. I will keep the time to go there to myself tho.

So I was super frustrated as I'm a pet collector and haven't gotten this little guy yet. After reading all the comments, I went to go get the Underground Economy quest, and haven't seen Ricket pop up with it for a month. I'd never done the quest, but am exalted with Therazane so I was a little confused, and significantly frustrated when I would see Jadefang pop up, and had no way to get to him (without the disconnect method). So I opened a ticket and here's what I got back:

"Thank you for reporting this issue to us. After an initial investigation, it appears that this is an issue we are aware of and are currently working to resolve as soon as possible. We do appreciate the information, as all reports we receive are added to the information we already have and help us to better find a resolution."

Dont think I will ever forget how I got the Tiny Shale Spider since my solution to reaching Jadefang was a little bit complicated ;)
Dunno how much this will help you, so see it more as a fun story with a lot of problem solving.

Was farming pets on mage and decided to see if Jadefang was there. Ofc Npcscan went off and then I realized I couldn't reach the mob and the daily bomb quest wasn't there :(

Tried dying next to the shelf, but found out it only works to fly in the cave as a nelf cause of the wisp thingy. Also tried the unplug network cable solution, but couldnt get it to work.

To make it even more frustrating 2 hordes killed me and tried to reach the pet too, but they gave up quite fast.

Then I remembered that I had a nelf rogue on the same server. Problem was that it was lvl 80 so couldn't reach Deepholm yet. Fine I thought, Ill go get Potion of Deepholm. Or not, req lvl 82 /cry.

So after a bit of thinking I realized that my priest who is on a separate account, but on same server has . So I go to the cave and summon the rogue. I let the rogue die below the shelf and as a wisp its ez mode to fly and rez up there.

Great, I got a rogue up here, so how do I get mage up here too since its on the same accout?

Ok I inv the rogue to the priests guild to get on rogue. Then I summon the priest up there to realize that since I summoned the rogue to Deepholm the priest's is on a 2h cd. -.-

So, now I got a rogue and a priest up there but no mage :(

Started to wait for the priest's summon cd to come off, so tried doing other things, but was hard to focus.
Then suddenly it hit me. Leap of Faith :o

Quickly relogged to realize that the priest couldn't reach the mage below. So decided to take the mage to the shelf next to the Jadefang shelf and jump to the green crystal below. Tried Leap of Faith again and it worked :)

Finally after almost 2h I could loot the pet on my mage and as a bonus I received Menagerie

ok i read serveral tips on how to get up there and i read one the very last tips there was...and it worked! GENUIS i say...they said to put my self rite at the bottom of the opening to his cave spot and let the gyrowroms kill me then simply just float into the mouth of the cave and rez there and i did...and there was JadeFang waiting all happy to see me...i started tameing...only to relize i only had half my health back so i tamed him easily on 45352 health...and this was at 1am in the morning time then i went to bed happy...got back up the next morning and 1:14pm there he was again...so this time i killed him and got the drop for the compainon pet...

I am on the server Shadow Council, and I tamed Jadefang at 5 am in the morning.
I don't know how long she was there, but I got real lucky!
My npc tracker went off, so I went in the cave, AND the quest was there too!
Didn't have to camp or anything.
I didn't have the heart to kill her, no matter what she drops.
I would die a little inside if I killed her before I got to tame her.
The tame was smooth, barely any damage.
Her buff is pretty awesome, and she makes the cutest sounds :3 I'm pretty happy.
I got real lucky tonight, 3 rare pets.
Got me Magria, Banth, and Jadefang. :3

My boyfriend was doing quests with his pally when his NPCScan went off. He went looking for it, found it, but was unable to reach it. So, what I did, I clicket to wowhead and checked these comments for tips and saw the night elf wisp thingy.

So, as we both were in 25 lvl guild and had Have Group, Will Travel, he teleported my 36 lvl night elf rogue there. I let the mobs kill me (which was obviusly quick thing to do) and flew at wisp form to the place where Jadefang is hiding. Then I teleported my BF's pally there, and he killed it.

When Jadefang was down and it was time to loot it, my BF almost had a heart attack when it showed that Jadefang had only dropped some cata-green wrists. But when I tried to loot it, it showed that the companion was there. A minute or two later, my BF saw the companion too and was able to loot it. So wait if it shows that there's no companion drop!

Die and res on the ledge doesn't work anymore. The ghost mount despawns as soon as you enter the caverns now.

325am ST on draka ricket was the daily so lucky me went to see if he was there and bam npc alert took me a few tries to get the bomb part right but i got it...since i dont like being a BM hunter i just killed him for the companion.

during the first 2 days of Cataclysm my npcscan ringed during my peebles run, after much search i found it used nitro belt about 6 times until it fails then leaped to a spider there as a feral druid and killed it pretty easily it was a nice pet i hope they make it BOE sometime!

An easy way to get up there is to get a rogue and a druid to duel on the rock.

The rogue then shadowsteps up onto the druid's mushrooms that are placed just on the ledge Jadefang is on.

He can then summon people up there.

My rogue was level 62, it was summoned there. The druid needs to be 85 for mushrooms.

Now my rogue is left on the platform to summon people when it spawns. Hope this helps people!

Confirmed in 4.3 that wisps can still fly into Jadefang's cave. Just die under him in a lower tunnel and fly up to him while dead and rez through the wall. I held him for a good 20 minutes while a guildy finished her instance, then summoned her. Free-for-all, kill, let her loot.

I was finding the DC strategy a little difficult because my connection would either kick back in too early and dismount me or I would wait too long and it would DC me. The solution I found to this was (if you are hard wired) : Pull your Ethernet cable out just enough to lose signal and start flying. Wait a couple seconds and nudge it a little so you get connection back. Wait a second or two nudge it back out. Back and forth, connecting and DCing so you are never actually connected but don't get DCed.

This of course means you are going to have to fly one handed. It also made a huge difference that my Ethernet cable had an LED so I could very easily tell if it was making contact or not.

Got the Underground Economy daily. Went in, got up to where Jadefang spawns via the top posted bomb method. So far I've been camping for seven and a half hours.

Despite being a hunter I'm only really interested in it for the vanity pet. I'm hoping it'll spawn soon cause I usually go to bed around now.

EDIT: Killed Jadefang at 2:56 am server time (Dath'remar) 11 and a half hours after I started camping.

Ok so today i flew in to do the pebbles quest and ding goes npcscan. I read all the info but no one uses a laptop i guess so heres how i did it. My laptop has a button to d/c connection. I clicked it off then back on with a half second. Did this while i was autoflying. I didnt have to die or nething just flew in and by the time it cameback i was already on the ledge and never got dismounted. I hope this helps those with a laptop. Now i got her as my tanking pet woohoo. Next time i kill her for the companion.

Logged on after server reset and killed him at around 18.00 after a near 10hour camp.

Luckily just before my raid invites which i was dreading because i was sure it would spawn soon. Turned around to kill the neutral spiders out of boredom and npc scan makes me jump out of my skin. With a smiley face I kill the mob and loot my Tiny Shale Spider for my lock, going to the raid a very happy girl.

Spawned at 5:15-5:20 am server side on Winterhoof.

Found a chest in the back that held Mindbender Bloom within it. Was just about to switch toons right when the cutie spawned on top of me. Lucky. I only waited maybe 15 minutes.

I suggest you hang in there, it is worth it.

a tip,you dont have to close your router or unplug the ethernet cable,you just need the program NET LIMITER. instal it go to cave entrance and set wow's limit to 90-130,(whatever,it just has to be low) fly in, and once you are on jade's spot take of the limit.

ps,it have been mantioned before.
ps2 windowed mode for wow is a must (so u ll be able to quick take off the limit)

for those who do not wish to wait for the daily, there is a second option.

when entering the cave via flying mount unplug your cable

when u get to the orange crystal plug your cable back in

when you get to the tunnel that the worm circles, take the left path and unplug your cable

fly to jadefang and enjoy your new pet

note- this was done with a 280 speed flyer, i dont know if that affects when you should unplug it but it worked for me at those points

Funny story. I'm not usually one to camp for extended periods of time. I'd been hanging out in the mouth of the cave the last three or four days, but never for more than a few minutes, logging back in between six and twelve hours later, whenever I was home. So, this evening, I decided I'd just stay put until she respawned. To pass the time, I was fiddling around with my phone, seeing how well the camera worked in a dark room, and how well it handled taking shots of bright screens. I ended up snapping this photo of my laptop out of boredom:

See the back of the cave there? I looked at the photo and thought 'wait a minute...'. I almost dropped my phone to get back to the main screen, because there she was, no more than about five minutes after I'd sat down. Run, hit, kill, pet.

The shale spider model is one of my favourites from Cataclysm, so the pet makes me very, very happy. Persistence - and a keen eye - will prevail.

I found I kept getting disconnected trying the router trick. Thankfully I appeared to be the only one in the area using NPC Scan, and there really wasn't too many people in the area at this time of night. Took me about four tries of unplugging the Ethernet cable from my router flying for a few seconds and plugging it back in while still flying before giving up.My computer took too long picking the router back up, and I'd get disconnect. Could be that my Ethernet card is pretty slow.

So I changed tactics a bit, seeing as I am a Blood Elf Paladin and my professions are mining and blacksmithing, which removes the chances for using engineering products, and the daily was not available in the cave. I figured someone else might be having the same exact problem as I was, so I figured I'd share my success.

New plan? I flew in, right before it dismounted me. You may have to try a few times to find the exact spot. Then I disconnected my Ethernet cable from my router and quickly plugged it back in. After that I flew to the alcove with Jadefang in it, make sure you take the left path at the giant gyreworm circle, it is in fact shorter, and you stand less of a chance of being dismounted. I was able to land and dismount, and then Jadefang reappeared without the need to load my UI, although it is a possibility that you will have to reload your UI after you land.

if you are looking for him, get up the ramp, nd see if he is there, if he isnt, just wait till the daily quest mob isnt there (check with an alt or let a friend check) most certain that it'll spawn that day, caus nobody else can get up the ramp, i was looking to day on Quel'Thalas EU liveserver if it was there, if yes, if i could kill it cus i wanted the pet cus im a collector

unfortunatly the quest wasnt there and he was spawned, got signalled by NPCscan that it was there and alive, cus i could target it trough npcscan nd showed full hp, so easy tameable/killable if you camp up there and wait for a day to make the quest not appear.

I figured it out! I play a worgen warlock and have no abilities that will get me up to that ledge to slay jadefang. I tried nitro boots and it was awful. So I thought about it and either of these options are guaranteed to work.

1.) Log on to a night elf and die in the cave. Whisp up to the ledge and rez. Once up there you can group summon a friend (level 25 guild). The friend can than group summon the character you want jadefang on.

2.) Log on to a death knight night elf or priest night elf and either duel a friend for a death grip up to the ledge or leap of faith up using a friendly target.

Good news every one...... If you are on a non goblin or non hunter toon....and the dailie has not popped yet..this is still possible. Heres how:

Step 1: goto directly under the ledge in which Jadefang lyes

Step 2: Die there

Step 3: Go directly outside crumbling depths to where you are not booted from dead gryphon

Step 4: For this you will need to unplug you internet cord from you computer and wait 1 second...then fly into the depths and ever 4 seconds plug your internet cord back in and unplug after 1 second..... fly up to the ledge and you will be close enough to res XD

I want to sum up everything and add a little of my own experience.

The Mob
Jadefang is a RARE NPC spawn in a somewhat "hidden" cave inside the Crumbling Depths of Deepholm. Entry to the cave is (58,24). Jadefang has a random re-spawn timer of 6 to 12 hours.

How to get there?
There are mainly 2 ways that people talk about.

1st method - Using the Ricket's Tickers (Requires Quest and completing quests from Deepholm)
Step 1: Finish most of the quests in Deepholm until you have the daily quests unlocked from Therazane's Throne.
Step 2: From your Major City you'll use the port to Deepholm, then use the port to the temple, find Felsen the Enduring and check what quests does he give for today. If he has 3 quests which should include Beneath the Surface then come back another day. If not, check Pyrite Stonetender who is right next to Felsen the Enduring and see if he gives out a quest. If he does, that should be Lost In The Deeps (Which is the quest that should lead you to Rock Lover if you complete it 10 times, which also rewards a pet). If neither of the quests are available for today, you are ready for step 3.
Step 3: Go to the cave Crumbling Depths (58,24). Walk inside until you see the goblin quest giver Ricket, she will give you the quest Underground Economy. When you accept the quest, you'll also receive a quest item Ricket's Tickers.
Step 4: Go straight in to the cave then you'll see a circle with a giant worm moving counter clockwise, mount up and don't touch the worm, you want to take the 2nd exit which leads you to a big hall. (1st exit is a dead end to the right)
Step 5: You'll see many different routes on the mini map. Take the 2 o'clock, the far right one. Then you will come to another cross road, make a left. After a small curve, you'll see the big hall again, however you are standing on the high ground. Now look below you, there should be 3 broken pillars, from left to right, Dark green, white, and somewhat light green. You want to mount up, and jump to the somewhat light green one on the right. If you failed, go back to the beginning of step 5.
Step 6. Plant the bomb at the center of the pillar, make yourself stand facing the bomb, and towards 2 o'clock on the mini map. After a few ticks you should be blown up into the cave where Jadefang should be at. If you failed, go back to the beginning of step 5.
Step 7: Go into the very end of this hidden cave and look for Jadefang.

2nd Method - Using the internet cord/router (Not recommended if you can't reach neither easily).
Step 1 and Step 2 is not required.
(If you are not familiar with the map inside, you should use the 1st method and get familiar first.)
Step 3: Go outside the cave and mount up your flying mount. Fly into the cave, when you see the yellow crystals unplug, while you are still flying to your destination, about 5 seconds later, plug it back in for 1 second and unplug again. Then when you reach the final platform, plug in again.

3rd method
If you have a Night Elf friend, he/she should be able to fly up the platform in ghost form (when dead), you can let him/her die right under the platform, and revive up the platform then summon you there using . Or better yet, you are a Night Elf yourself.
Note: I've not tested this method.

The kill
Any decent 85 shouldn't have any difficulty killing him. I believe some comments say it's solo'ble for level 83s, but don't take my word for it.

Personal experience

I'm from Area-52 (US), it's not the most populated server, but still a lot of competition. If you are on a high population server as well, you can try to get the quest, keep the quest item and come back another day. It's usually less competition that way.
Quite sure that the mob has a minimum of 6 hour re-spawn timer, so if you just missed a kill, come back 6 hours later, don't get frustrated.
NPC Scan is a good addon for this.
After 7:30 minutes of no activity you'll sit on the floor and after another 30 minutes you will log out of the game. If you are Alt-Tab'd or something like that, make sure you move your character or jump at least every 30 minutes.
Saw it first today at 4:15am, a DK stole my kill, NPC scan reported at 11:45, but I missed that one too, while I was AFK... Then there's another DK came in the afternoon, I told him my story, and he said I could have the kill, he'll take the next one. Now I'm waiting for the 3rd re-spawn while writing this.
Sorry for the bad English, it's not my first language.

Edit: I got so bored so I was testing the AFK timer.
Edit 2: Got mine at 11:15pm. that's 11 hours and 30 minutes from previous spawn.

Just tamed this on my hunter 2days ago. Did the Internet dc trick by unplugging at cave entrance while alive on mount and flying in turning left to reach ledge and replug. I actually turned right the first time like how i would normally ride in to reach the area which was a bit dumb cuz it took about 20 sec or more and by the time i reconnected my bugged flying didnt register. Took me about 10 sec disconnect going the short route and artisan riding.

12:52pm Pacific - Uldum Server. Have camped for 4 - 10 hours, on occasion, for about a week. Logged out today, my birthday, to have a shower and get ready to go out. Logged back in at 12:52pm, Jadefang was right next to me. Screen was all red (NPCSCAN) so I quickly killed him, with my lvl 85 Boomkin (Extremely well geared - pre-raid) Took all of 10 seconds to kill. My health went down maybe 5%. Got my companion drop and flew back to wait again for Aeonaxx.

Just in case anyone was wondering, going into Wisp Form using the Wisp Amulet does not work. It just makes you look like a Wisp and doesn't allow you to move like one. A shame really; it'd be nice for something in Archaeology to actually be useful.

I was camping for jadefang for about a half hour when w shaman came in. Several hours later i agreed to allow him to kill jadefang as long as he gave me a time. Not even 10 minutes after i leave he whispers me the link for the companion. I then camped,and jadefang respawned a very long awaited15 hours. I never left my laptop so know he wasnt killed or tamed someone during that time. Therefore now i know the spawn timer is not just 6-8 hours later as i have read and been told. Hope this helps somewhat!

I killed jadefang last night at 7:40pm and I watched him respawn again the next day at 5:25am, so his spawn timer can definately be less than 12 hours. Just thought I'd post this info to help people find him.

As a warlock, I've been camping his spot for around 3 weeks. The first time my NPCscan goes off is when I was doing the "kill the Gyreworms" and collecting Painmotes as well as "lost in the Deeps". Sadly, Ricket wasn't around, but I did let anyone who was in the general area know that Jadefang had popped up.

I did as some of the posters said and kept Underground Economy tracked and kept going back and forth to the spider's spawning point within the week with no spawn-along with an annoying Nighty who kept logging in and off while throwing traps in the back

Jadefang spotted and killed at 7:26 p.m. server time on April 27th and pet obtained.

The way we did is with a friend ally who had the quest, a rogue who used shadowstep to the ally and then use have group will travel to summon the one that wants the pet.

Important quick info:

This is a BM pet
He spawns in the cave on a ledge you cannot get too without help or aids
He drops a companion pet if killed
Gives a raid buff equal to kings
Tamed 12:30 uk time (13:30 game time) on Nagrand

The way i did it: I got a friend who had res OR mass ress who was a Night elf (wisp when dead).

We both flew into the cave and died undernath the ledge, the NE then wisped back into the cave and resed himself on the ledge, and then resed me, easy tame.

Jade Fang spawned at the same time as Terborus.

Tried to die under the cave but im human and the gryphoon despawned right before i even was half way throught so i came up with a idea ! Enter the cave with flying mount and head to the cave right after you enter the cave UNPLUGG YOUR INTERNET after you unplugged it wait 2 seconds and PLUGG It back right in MEAN WHILE keep flying to the cave it worked perfectly for me i got i after the first try the goal is to Be connect and to just unconnect couple of seconds to not unmount GOOD LUCK! I was doing the Therazane dailies when NPC scan alerted me about Jadefang, so I immediately went to the area where Jadefang was, but I was underneath him. I rode outside, hopped on my flying mount and flew over the area, and figured that there was a tunnel in between the two places that I went too.
I went to thottbot, and read the entries, and went to the large cavern with the broken green pillars, and white square crystals, and jumped, while on my mount, to the low green pillar. Then I turned my back to the hall where Jadefang was, and placed Ricket's bomb in front of me. It launched me at least 35+ feet backwards right into the cave, and didn't even damage me lol. Then I shot Jadefang so it wouldn't be any use to someone else, since it was tapped, and then started to tame it. When the tame was almost finished, Jadefang started to freak out, and went through rapid attacks, but I was able to finish the tame, and named my new green shale spider Jadefang, so all will know.
I continued with my Therazane dailies, and attacked a gyroworm, when I noticed a mind sear line on my new pet, which I named "Jadefang". I turned and saw an Alliance nelf shadow priest attacking my new pet named " Jadefang". Apparently he must've thought my newly tamed pet was the actual, untamed Jadefang. He got a surprise when I concussion shot, scatter shot, kill command, and after several arcane shots, killed him. I /lol'd him, and continued my Therazane quests. All in all, I got a rare, tenacity, cool green spider pet, and 40 honor points. I have an 85 Belf BM hunter on Ysondre, named Theodosia.

I just snagged this guy/gal after 50-54 hours on and off camping. I would camp for 10-12 hours and take 8-10 hour breaks for sleep and work. I would leave my NPC scan on while sleeping.

Got it at 11:38 am UTC on Dark Iron. I used the Ricket's Tickers and it worked perfectly, I got up in the cave the first time.

I confirmed the 12hr spawn timer this past evening/morning (6/2) on Argent Dawn. Tamed Jadefang at 9:14pm, continued camping, and killed him the following morning at 9:13am. So it's more like an 11hr 59min timer. =p

I just got Jadefang twice on Skywall server, and the respawn time was 12.5 hrs , not the 6-9 hrs or even 14 hrs as i've seen some post. I camped it on my druid the first time but when i looted the item it said it was already known to me ( blond moment and i could have cried ) so i brought my main over and camped it hoping that it was on a 6-9 hrs timer, alas it was not, so i camped it for 12 hrs. I was hugely disappointed when it hadn't spawned by the 12th hr and decided since i was already there that long i might as well try the 14hr theory so i stayed. Jadefang spawned at 6.30am on the dot ( previous spawn was at 6pm ). Hope this helps someone. Happy hunting

I read about people unplugging there router and then flying in but i was on wifi on my laptop (macbook) so i flew to the edge of the depths upto the point where just before it would dismount me and then turn off the wifi connection on the laptop and flew in, i took a wrong turn amd flew around for around 30 seconds till i got to her shelf and still the game did not log out. I then turned the wifi back on and and i said i was reconnected to battlenet and i was back online in her cave.

Waited a couple of hours and when i logged back in she was there and i killed her on my lock for the pet.

Went back tonight on my hunter and did the wifi trick and tamed her.

Been trying to do the wifi disconnect method to get to Jadefang's cave but I honestly think my internet connection and/or my laptop are too fast for it to work. I've started in the tunnel as far as I can go and still remain flying and have turned my wifi off and then back on starting at 2 seconds and adding a 1/2 second each consecutive time. It never worked. The farthest I ever got without being DC'ed was just past the barrier going into the main chamber, where my flying mount would disappear and I'd fall to the ground. Beyond that, I got DC'ed every time and always ended up at the starting point when I log back in. Has anyone else run into this problem? I should point out that this particular toon does not have fastest possible flight speed.

UPDATE: Tamed Jadefang on Cenarion Circle at approx. 9 pm server time. My son's Night Elf Druid got me up on the ledge and I had only been camping there about 15 minutes when he spawned. My son had switched over to another toon but we were talking on Skype. So when I told him Jadefang was there, he told me to wait because he wanted to see me tame it (he had left his Druid up on the ledge). Right at that moment, though, another hunter showed up so I had to start the tame. But my son did log in quickly enough to see me seal the deal. The next day around 4:30pm server time, Jadefang spawned again and there were no other hunters in the area, so I was able to get the companion pet as well!

Hey, all you posters saying "It's easy, just die on the ground close to the ledge of Jadefang's cave and fly up and rez in the cave mouth".... you forgot to mention you're a Night Elf. Wisps can "fly up there", but the rest of us with humanoid ghosts can't.

To anyone playing a character whose race is anything other than Night Elf... the "ghost flyin" thing is useless and misleading "advice". Don't bother.

Unplugging the internet connection works great. I flew to the entrance of the Crumbling Depths and unplugged the ethernet cable from my laptop. Then I flew around at my leisure until I got to Jadefang's cave. Once I landed inside the cave, I plugged the cable back in. Jadefang appeared. This is a neutral (yellow) mob, not aggressive (red).

Only Whisps can fly trough that cave ... Since I'm a gnome, I'm a ghost not a whisp, and ghosts don't fly.... But.... I called a Guildie, Night elf to help me :D. He died close to Jadefang's Place, ressurected up there and then he summoned me. Good luck :D

I had THE hardest time deciding whether to tame or kill. I kept watch for people too of course sitting there next to it. I got there because I am a nelf and I used flying wisp form. Just died below and flew on top and rezed there. I decided to tame and come back to see if it would spawn again. It has yet to spawn but It will because I'm lucky with these things :) Got Gondria within two days and Loque within two weeks. and terrorpene within two days too so good luck to everyone else.

I have attempted the "ethernet cable unplug" countless times over the past 2 hours. Each time I log back in, I am in the exact spot where I unplugged. Hotfix or Modem fail?

The bomb method shown in Pheenix's video worked perfectly http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nhuq1I4YjiU.
In addition, people who cannot access the bomb quest can be blown onto the ledge by someone else's bomb.
This will enable you to help a friend who cannot obtain the quest, up onto the ledge, if you don't have the summoning perk.

HOW TO REACH JADEFANG WITHOUT THE DAILY

It took me a while before i thought about this idea its very simple to tell you the truth. All you need is to get two friends who are a druid and the other a sub rogue. Once you get them have them follow you using these directions.

Enter the Crumbling Depths, continue going straight, deeper into the crumbling depths.
Once you see the colossal gyreworm pathing, go right and follow the same direction the gyreworm is going.
You will pass by one dead end tunnel before being in a large cave with many tunnels to choose from. Head into the tunnel on the far right.
Take the first left when you find one , it should dead end back in the big open cave area.
Looking in front of you, you should see a dark green crystal. To the far right you should see an elevated cave entrance (with a red glow inside) that is completely unreachable.

Once you do mount and jump onto the big green rock. Look to see if Jadefang is there if you see the spider have your friends jump onto the rock with you.
Have the sub rogue and the druid start a duel.
Once the duel is started dont have them attack each other have the druid place a mushroom on the right of the ledge where Jadefang is.
Then have your sub rogue shadowstep onto the mushroom then have the rogue use the guild spell (Have group will travel) and summon you up there then boom your on the ledge and can kill Jadefang ^.^ i got the tiny shale spider about half a hour ago and im so happy :D

Reading all the comments was definately helpful. I started my string of dailies on Hellscream server and npcscan went off today around 12 noon. Not having the bomb daily was discouraging, and I have no night elf friends as I was on horde. the trick that finally worked for me was the D/C method. But with a slight twist. I set up several times at the mouth of the tunnel and turned off my connection.... leading to several failures and my toon being right at the same spot flying in front of the main entrance. The final and succsesful attempt was putting my flying mount right at the spot in which moving forward would dismount me... I clicked the button on my laptop to turn off the wireless switch, then immediately clicked it again to turn it back on. This allowed me to fly all the way to jadefangs cave, and still remain connected. my latency turned to crap but toon never actually disconnected. I hope this helps someone.
Tamed it at 12:29 server tiime on Hellscream as an Orc Hunter, Also Im not sure if it may have been a resist, or immune, as like I said my latency was horrible from the "D/C" but my trap did not freeze the mob

Just a heads up: If you want to use the Daily bomb-fly method (described below, and shown in some of the linked YouTube videos), you can just pick up the Daily quest when its up, and then keep it in your Quest Log without completing the quest. That way, the bomb will stay in your inventory all the time, making it possible to do the bomb-jump whenever you want to.

This is so easy, I almost fell over myself >.<

A few points to note:
- 12-14 hours is accurate spawn timings.
- I used the Ricket method as the daily was up.
- Once I got up there, if Jadefang isn't there, just log until you find it up there.
- Keep the Ricket daily until done.
- Sometimes, Jadefang hides up the back so check left and right sides before giving up.

Had nitro boots but never used them. Used the Flexweave Underlay though :P

With good timing, you'll bawss this so easily ;)
Besides, its easier than finding Lil Timmy in SW :P

What i ended up having to do to get it since i didnt have my artisan or expert riding was go into the cave and die under the ledge where Jadefang is. Then with the spectral mount i did the cable unplug / lag to allow me to fly in take the first left and just before passing the large floating boulder just before the ledge plugging the cable back in. Once on the ledge and not disconected I clicked accept on the Rez box. Also note that you will need to heal up before attack. I made this mistake only once since i then had to redo the lag flight. Sigh.. but works as of 8/12

Note this is probably only neccessary if you dont have anything faster than first flying mount.

Attempted to tame today, and repeatedly got the message that "Creature not tameable". Beast lore still reports as tameable.

I used the bomb method from the quest "Underground Economy." It works just fine and if Jadefang is not there when you get that quest just don't turn it in or complete it so that the bombs stay in your inventory. That way you can come back and check as many times as you'd like until you find it.

I was able to tame him, then come back another day and get the mini pet version as well. I've seen him three times in the cave and it's always been between the hours of 5am-10am. So it seems he usually spawns early in the morning, at least from my personal experience.

A chest also seems to spawn in the same location. I got a staff from it when Jadefang wasn't there. The staff is called Sealing Heartsaff and it's ilv 292.

How to get Jadefang - Warlock trick

Okay so last night Jadefang went off on my NPCScan, my boyfriend being a pet fanatic, I told him to rush on over since he was leveling there. "No no, I'm gonna log my warlock since I'm collecting on her." He said. We went through all these different tips on WoWhead and nothing seemed to be working. Messing around on his lock, an idea sparked. Since the new patch - 5.0.4/5.0.5 - his eye of kilrogg could both fly -and- drop a demonic circle. He rushed his eye of kilrogg inside and placed the demonic circle just outside Jadefang's tunnel, ran inside, and teleported up. Success! Something in this new patch that works! So, if any of you have a warlock out there, and hunt pets such as Jadefang's tiny shale spider pet, give that a try. Its foolproof. ;)

Edit - This is yet another trick that you can use without the daily, and a warlock only trick

How to get as Goblin Hunter:

Step 1: Glyph of Disengage
Step 2: Macro
/cast disengage
/cast readiness

Step 3: Get to edge, enter combat, double disengage using above macro, then rocket boots the last bit.

Also, unplug ethernet cable trick works, verified 9/14/12

I can't believe it, but unplugging the internet worked. I unplugged the ethernet cord right before I hit that point in the beginning of the cave where it won't allow you to fly anymore, I kept the plug slightly in but not clicked, and as soon as I was up there I pushed it back in. I waited a couple minutes to make sure I wasn't going to be disconnected before I attacked. What I'd like to know is how exactly did Blizz envision players getting up there?

As of MoP, If you are an engineer it is very easy to get here without using any disconnect tricks, rogue tricks, using wisp form, or having the daily quest etc...

Simply go to the ledge leading to Jadefang, launch yourself upwards by using a Bottled Tornado and finally, while in the air, use a Goblin #$%^&* to glide into the tunnel.

If you can launch yourself into the air by any other means other than the Bottled Tornado, that is fine too. Sorry folks, the Gnomish Gravity Well does not work in here to launch yourself but I have yet to try malfunctioning rocket boots to launch up.

Here is the easiest but most ridiculous way to get to Jadefang if she spawned. You do not need a quest. This time you must kill your self next to the cave she spawns in. A long time ago people were able to fly in the cave. But now since you can't anymore,your spirit can fly. Might be a glitch. But when you are a spirit,fly up to the cave Jadefang spawns in and resurrect there. If she spawned,she's all yours. (This is only how a night elf can get to her) The way everyone else can do it is either being a goblin,getting the quest,or being an engineer. (I think other spirits can fly in the cave too.)

Managed to get it with the dc way after a half dozen try. I dc shortly after entering the cave and almost instantly reconnected the cable, at the same time flying inside, so when it finally "noticed" me logged in I was on the damn ledge! Pet achieved!

I have figured out a new way to reach this shiny little beauty without the use of the daily Bomb method.

You need the following:

To be an Engineer
To have the Flexweave Underlay Tinker on your cape
To have the Nitro-Boots Tinker

What you will have to do, is first you will need to get on the green crystal. Dismiss your pet too, you don't want him getting in your way, OR send him on passive to the ground just in front of the crystal.

Below the crystal is a Gyreworm. If you get close enough to the edge of the crystal it will aggro and pop out of the ground.

Target the Worm, and if you do have your pet on the ground, the pet will keep him active for you, just remember to toss a Mend pet so it doesn't die.
Do NOT kill the worm! You will need it for disengage

From here, face away from the mouth of the cave. Keep using your Nitro boots until you get the Failed effect.
Once you get the effect you will have to be very quick or you will miss your chance....
On the failed effect of the boots you will skyrocket into the air. Once you hit the top most point activate your Disengage and parachute.

You will glide backwards onto the cave mouth opening. :)

I used this method twice on my blood elf hunter, once to tame it and once to kill it, so I know it wasn't simply a fluke, and it does in fact work, I have even seen other hunters try my method at the same time (but I got there 1st)

The only thing about this method is that you do have to activate the nitro boots several times and that could take some time. But this method also allows you to get to Jadefang without the daily being up, meaning you will probably be the only person there trying at the time and don't have to worry about someone else killing/taming it before you

As of Mists of Pandaria, the model is no longer unique as a Hunter pet. The Tiny Shale Spider pet, however, is still as much of a commodity as ever.

Jadefang is a non-elite, non-aggressive tamable rare found in Deepholm who if killed drops the Tiny Shale Spider which is a companion pet. Please note that Jadefang can also be tamed by hunters.

The spawn timer on Jadefang seems to be between approximately 6-12 hours.

Jadefang can be found at 61.3, 22 in Deepholm in the Crumbling Depths. the tiny blue or pink square on the map indicates where this is. The entrance is located at 58.3, 25.8. Note: It is possible for NPCScan to pick up Jadefang while not inside the tunnel. Mine went off once while I was flying toward Therazan's Throne just above the spawn point.

Jadefang is not an easy rare to get to. There are only a few ways to get to Jadefang. Probably the easiest way is to get the Underground Economy daily quest from Ricket. This is a goblin NPC located just inside the Crumbling Depths. (This quest will only become available after you have completed the entire quest line in Deepholm leading up to the Therazane dailies.) You will need the Ricket's Tickers from this quest to get to Jadefang. This daily quest is not available every day. I actually recommend grabbing this quest when it is up and coming back on a day when it isn't. This makes it a little less likely that other people will be able to get to Jadefang on that day. Follow the path further inside, once you are past the Colossal Gyreworm you will be in a large chamber. Head into the tunnel on the right side (see screen shot below).

This is where you will need the Ricket's Tickers you got from Ricket. You are going to have to use them to throw yourself into the cave. You will need to place a bomb on the ground in front of you. When the bomb detonates, it will knock you away from it at a high speed and height. What you are going to need to do is place the bomb directly in front of you while your back is facing Jadefang's cave. You can face the cave or face the bomb, it doesn't mater so long as you are close to the bomb, and between the bomb and Jadefang's cave. The closer you are to the edge, the better shot you have at getting where you want to be. Spamming your jump button does nothing here, all that matters is placement.

you guys do realize that you dont have to use any kind of bombing or jumping method. you could just go throught the first room after the circling gyrowyrm and then take a right onto the path that leads to jadefang.

For any hunters trying to get this guy, it is possible to disengage up there from the ledge across from it. You need the disengage glyph for extra distance. Just jump straight up, disengage, readiness and disengage again, you will lend on the very edge. :) might take a few tries.

Tried and worked really well.

Getting to Jadefang WITHOUT using the bombs or having this quest

First familiarize yourself with the tunnels, the location of Jadefang, and shortest route (instead of going right at the circling worm, go left).

Disable all addons.

Hoover on your flying mount just inside the entrance – unplug your Ethernet cable just enough so that you disconnect from the internet but leaving the plug in place so that you can easily push it back in to reconnect

Immediately fly directly towards Jadefang’s ledge

Without stopping, reconnect to the internet just before you reach the large Central Room

Continue fling through the Central Room to land on Jadefang’s ledge.

It took me a couple of tries to get the timing just right – reconnect too soon and you drop before you get to Jadefang’s ledge, reconnect too late and you get disconnected from the server. If you are lucky, Jadefang will be there, if not, be prepared to camp or try again another time. I flew in just before signing off for the night, set my alarm for the wee hours of the morning and there she was.

I got him today using the bomb method because it is not convenient to do the modem thing for me. I used the bomb to launch myself into the cave that is lower than Jadefang's cave but right next to it (you can run to it also, but this was faster) then used the bomb from the opening of that cave to launch into his cave. It took only a few seconds and no weird tricks, as long as you can get the daily.

I can confirm that nightelves can still fly to this cave while dead in wispform, the hardest part at level 90 was getting the mobs to kill me. Removed all gear, pulled as many as I could and stood just below the cave. Once dead released and was able to fly all the way to his cave and res on the ledge.

THERE IS A SUPER EASY WAY AT 90 TO GET IT. if you can get an item in game called Falling Flame it will launch you right up there so you can get him and get the pet. I just did it and it took me all of 5 seconds. super easy super quick.

The disconnect method still works great as of 5.4.2. In my case I was using a laptop and just turned off the network card, flew straight to the cave, turned it back on and he reappeared.

Today I had a signal that Jadefang was uo and running. Unfortenately, the quest that You are required to have to be able to reach the "Hidden Cave", was not. Then I remembered that one of my characters had the drop from Cinderfall (Falling Flame), that launches You high in the air.
With that I succeeded to get into the hole, where Jadefang awaited me. And I got the drop, Tiny Shale Spider.

Thought I should drop a quick note if someone else was interested.

I devised a three step solution to getting Jade fang, w/o the daily, zone quest unlocking, or unplugging internet neither.

1. Obtain Falling Flame from Cinderfall at Timeless Isle.

2. go to (as close as you can) 64,23 inside the cave.

3. Now Position yourself at the edge of the platform, you will be able to see the opening where Jadefang is from where you are. Then use Falling Flame and it should blast you right inside to the end where JF is.

I realize this took me two tries to figure it out, and on my third try at that location to succeed perfectly. Oh and if you mess up, there's a convenient 1 hour CD on the falling flame , soo in the meantime you can look for Aeonaxx.

As of 5.4 you can use the item Falling Flame to reach the cave from ground level of the central one. Note that this item does have a hour long CD so if you miss and the daily isn't up your going to have to wait.

Not a wisp-deathy NE, a goblin, a combo subtlety rogue with a druid-mushroom friend, in the habit of dc'ing ethernet cables, or on the daily?

Get Aviana's Feather from Aviana's Request (Lunarfall Inn / Frostwall Tavern Level 1) and either Engineering tinker Goblin Glider or equivalent Goblin Glider Kit.

You will gracelessly bonk into the ceiling and fall back down if you try to just use your feather, but popping a glider when you're up high enough will let you glide right into the tunnel.

I went to try ^this^ today and was offered the error: "You cannot use that here." ...thanks, Blizz! /sarcasm

For this, you just need to get into the mostly-middle of the cavern after the twisty gyreworm. Aim for under the green blocks, not where you can bonk early into a purple floater.

So...
1. Cavern.
2. Feather.
3. Glide after bonk.

Edit: tried to try Longarms' suggestion if you have Falling Flame, but I didn't position myself correctly on first try. At the mouth of the lower cavern across from the goal should work, will try to remember to edit after testing from there.

I found a way for rogues to get up the cliff. Requirements are Throbbing Blood Orb and Shadowstep. You target one of the crawlers up the cliff, jump and use shadowstep.

So I just got this guy today. I used a rogue with Shadow step. From the walkable ledge I jumped onto the broken jade pillar. I waited for the trash to get close enough to the edge. From the tallest point of the pillar you can shadow step while jumping and make it on top. Hope this helps someone else.

Edit: I feel like I got dumb luck. I have been trying again for about an hour and the mob doesn't seem to get close enough anymore...

Edit: Okay so if you use throbbing blood orb, you can use the rogue talent Shadowstep to get up here super easily.

Hunter, level 83, managed to snare Jadefang today using the server trick: Toggle PC internet connection off then on again quickly. Fly straight there. Stop at the edge of the ledge just in case you have an existing pet out and it is not on passive.

Now will log out then back in again in a while to get me a pet too.

How I got there as a Demonology warlock:

Have the toy Throbbing Blood Orb
Get up to the lower platform next to the Jadefang one
Use the Throbbing Blood Orb, jump to the Jadefang entrance and then use Demonic Leap

Keep in mind if you fail this you will have to wait for the 20 minute cooldown to reset

You may care to download my Rare Love add-on over at WoW Interface or Curse.

It is simply one macro for all your Squirrel "love", pest and rare achievements through to the end of MoP.

This Cataclysm non-achievement NPC rare is also included for the sake of completeness!

You'll spam press a macro button created by Rare Love but when the add-on itself kicks in there is a whole lot more, including progress tallies after each kill/love.

Most importantly, it runs lean and clean. Little cpu/fps impact and a tiny memory footprint.

Just popped up on 10/22/2017 (7 a.m. Local time, 5 a.m. Realm time) on 10/22/2017 on Bronzebeard.

Been trying for like 3 weeks....logging in at random late night/early morning times between 10 before to 10 after an hour.
with my alt that is camped there.

Lost out one time to a horde guy by like 2 seconds :)

Finally have my pet battler....and saved myself 10k from buying @ AH from what it seems to be going for.
Keep trying.....you'll get yours too.

Just stumbled upon Jadefang while gathering battle pets in Deepholm and desperately wanted the Tiny Shale Spider.
As I couldn't get the daily quest with explosives, I chose the Night Elf wisp form Wisp Spirit method, which IMHO is perfect and simple to use.
Only one tiny problem - at lvl 110 it's extremely difficult to die, especially after the BfA stat squish.
I had to strip naked losing all my gear and still all mobs in the area hit me for less than 1% HP every 10-15 s.
So I tried another approach... falling damage. I ran around the cave dropping from anything I could, while keeping aggro on all mobs in the area (aggro stops passive health regeneration) and after 10 mins more or less I fell down to 5% HP and left the rest for the mobs, though still it took several minutes to die.
Finally I released and flew directly to Jadefang's tunnel as a wisp. Jadefang was waiting for me and I got my Tiny Shale Spider ... easy.

At that moment I thought what retard I am ... I wasted a lot of time to die, while there is a very quick and easy method of dying at any character level.
Simply use the Blizzard HELP !
The in-game HELP offers an instant death and graveyard transport in the "Character Stuck !" menu.
I tested it again just to make sure and it works!

Here's an easy way to reach Jadefang without the bomb quest:

- Get on a character with 430% flying speed (DK/Pala)
- Get on your flying mount and hover in front of the Crumbling Depths entrance
- Take your router/modem/splitter in your off-hand, hold your ethernet cable with two fingers, and practice unplugging and replugging it with just your hand in exactly 5,5 seconds
- Press Num Lock (auto-run)
- Unplug your ethernet cable the exact moment you enter the first room, right before the amber pillar to the right
- Keep flying towards the tunnel where Jadefang is, and stay as high and close to the ceiling as you possibly can
- Replug your ethernet cable after 5,5 seconds
- You should reconnect now, get dismounted, and land nicely in Jadefang's tunnel.

PS: when the goblin Ricket isn't up, people don't bother with Jadefang, so that's the ideal time to just head over there and snatch the battle pet.

Actually it's possible to get there with a demon hunter, without additional items / buffs (source: myself, just did it). Just don't jump directly at the edge, but rather from a few steps back, to trade some horizontal for some more vertical jump power.

Brand new method for Shadowlands to reach this rare use your handy dandy Necronom-i-nom and a good old Druid with Wild Charge in Travel Form. Give it a few jumps in front of the alcove and then wild charge forward when you get the super jump.

If u have mount form, bring a bonus friend along!

Did it the following way:

Completed Deep into Deepholm in order for dailies to appear.
Then took the daily quest Underground Economy from Ricket. /way 61 26.2 - Ricket ./Inside the cave where you get Jadefang
Ricket gives you a bomb "Ricket's Tickers", which you will need to place behind you. (close to the edge).
Make your way to /way 63 21 - Blast of position / (need to be on the ledge), and face towards the other opening on your right.
Place the bomb and move slightly forward so the bomb is behind you.
And blast off! You're displaced to the other side where Jadefang is located.

Reason for this method: No need to carry items such as Falling Flame with you. And each time you go to Jadefang , Ricket. will be there to give the quest. Plus you at the same time you farm rep.

For anyone filtering by most recent comments, this rare does spawn without the daily quest being up. That's posted here somewhere already I'm sure but I found it faster to just falling flame my way up there and check myself than sifting through 502 comments.

If you're a goblin...Necronom-i-nom and Rocket Jump. There is a tunnel that you can go around to end up beside Jadefang's entrance and you can jump onto a green crystal pillar. Stand on the pillar, face Jadefang's entrance, jump with Necro...Rocket Jump when you are high enough. It will shoot you forward into the tunnel. I jumped onto the green pillar while mounted...don't know if that matters or not. Good luck!

i was hunting aeonaxx in tiefenheim (after i killed him a few days ago but couldnt loot him at all) when i saw jadefang in the newly added rare scanner, so i wanted to have him both as pet and as tame.

thanks to the comments i realised the only easy way for me was farming "falling flame", so i moved to timeless isle and camped the rare for some days and killed him like 20-40 times (didnt count).

when i finally got the item i moved back to the cave with fang (i hate that worm that is crouching around there and moves you out again ..)

when my first try to reach fang failed, i was looking at rare scanner again and wondered why the mob didnt show up for me (it filters out the rares that have no missing stuff for yourself anymore) -

bored waiting for the 1h cooldown i went to my collection and realised i had the PET already (must have bought it from AH long ago, because i never killed jadefang before) ...

so i spent many days to get this pet and had it from the very start ..

anyway, the method works fine, but requires time, droprate on that "falling flame" is very bad

For the people coming here to look for the Respawn Time: On Wow Cataclysm Classic EU Server Lakeshire i killed him for the first Time yesterday around 4 am in morning. cause i wanted to farm the pet a second time for a friend (so i can give it to him when MoP comes back) i Came back approx. 7 hours later and waited quite long ... until he spawned 14 hours after i killed him in the morning. so it was either a 14 hour long timer or i was very unlucky and missed a "quick" respawn between 6-7 hours.

maybe this is helpful to anyone.

Out of everything mentioned in the 500+ comments, In modern times, the one thing that worked for me was going on a nightelf, standing just below the platform and eating a Forbidden Flounder which you can get off auction house for 400-500~ gold which will kill you and you can fly back as a Wisp (night elf racial) and reach the upper ledge.
