Watch out for these things, there's a ton of them roaming around on the eastern shore of the Grizzly Hills. Their rune fist pwnt me and my pet VERY fast.

And yes, they're aggressive (possibly neutral, but their runic compulsion buff makes them hostile).

Careful when crossing or questing around where the giants are, they sometimes spawn next to you and start attacking immediately if you're close

If you're questing in the area, you may want to consider first doing the Free at Last chain to get Gavrok's Runebreaker, which can be used to weaken the giants, taking away their elite status and locking their abilities. I held on to it until I was done questing in the area and it was a big help.

I don't know if it's just me but this happened 3 times now...

They suddenly spawn on top of you when killing mob... Then he chased me(all 3 times mind you) until he killed me. Never stopped. I tried swimming last time but he walks on water... Maybe it's just me but watch out.

These things are the Mor'Ladim of Northrend.

Just when you've finished killing a wolf and are sitting down to drink, here comes the Runed Giant, with his 100% run speed to run you over.

Editing to remove the bad attempt at a joke before finding out what is really going on.

First, spawning mobs don't instantly attack you. That was my first clue after reading these comments that something was either seriously wrong or up with these mobs.

What I found out by observing them, while doing the mustang quest, is this. These mobs all of you are saying are insta-spawning. They are in fact teleporting.

Either a few or all of these mobs follow a pathing course that has a hard end and beginning. Once they reach the end they teleport back to the beginning of the path. 61, 32 is once such spot you can watch this happen. About once every minute or two this Runed Giant, or a Runed Giant in a series, completes this path and teleports back near the Iron Dwarves.

If a Giant insta-gibs you from teleporting take note of where that is/was. Avoid that spot as unless you kill that giant or get someone to do it for you IT WILL return about every two minutes to that exact spot.

These things hit like f*cking MAC trucks. Avoid their aggro range as much as possible, and dont try to solo one. Gotta love the Fel Reavers of Northrend.

if ur a herbalist and you CAN solo them like my 75 blood DK can u can actually make some quick gold by camping killing them cuz the grays they drop do vendor for well over 1g a stack so while questing may aswell solo one(plus u can actually get some good herbs like talandra's rose and one time i got lichbloom).Also kiting these 2 westfall brigade camp is a good way 2 solo them if u can heal thru that heavy damage.How i did it was first step pull it with death grip and put diseases up then use death strike anytime u can cuz he hits hard and u need some sort of healing(make sure u do it in frost pres so he won't hit as hard on u) when u have all death runes spam heart strike until he uses stomp and death strike if u have glyph of disease get the diseases back with pestilence is very helpful, Mark of blood will make it easy cuz u get healed by half the damage he's dealing pretty much and rune tap if ur at low hp.Rarely ever had 2 use ERW or DRW

If u just wanna get some lols u can kill this guy in such a place that he lands on a quest giver covering him up don't loot it if u want it 2 last cuz if u don't loot in a herbs can't come along and skin it away and it will be a slower despawn.Then sit back and watch all the frusterated noobs trying 2 use the quest giver.also u can hide in the mob and gank ppl if u wanna find a mode of stealth without rolling a rogue.

These Guys are great for a decently geared Blood DK to farm. they drop only 5-10 silver a kill but they drop 2 different Gray items at 2-3 per kill that sell for 15s 62c/17s 35c each. I dont even get to finish my full rotation before they die :P

Watch out for these guys when doing quests around that region. They'll unknowingly sneak up on you at the worst times possible due to their erratic path movements, then kill you in no time.

I was doing the quest Jin'arrak's end and after it, running back to the camp I aggroed all the trolls and even a worg or two, I passed one giant and it didn't aggro me. So I dunno if they still aggro or if you have to step right over them for them to aggro?

Shadowfury stun works on them. I'm not sure about others, though.
