Managed to tame one on a level 10 character; they seem to scale down. It was 9 when I tamed it.

They are a rare spawn in Gilneas. If you're only seeing the older, blue model of fox, you may need to clear them out and wait for them to respawn.

I had to clear out the blue older model versions of these in Northern Headlands where the sheep and Gilnean Hounds are wandering around in packs. Took 3 passes of killing off the blue versions to get the new orange color to spawn. Very beautiful model in the new color, hopefully the blue versions will get a hd glow up at some point. Makes a great addition to any hunters stable of companions. They are in the forest area of Northern Headlands along w the field area. Coordinates of where I found mine was inside Ruins of Gilneas City map area, around the area of /way 46, 17

Jumping on here during my lunch break. Before work this morning I thought I would give the search for the new, red and white Gilnean Fox another try. After scanning and scanning the areas above yesterday evening and this early morning and finding only a handful of older, blue Gilnean Foxes and a tons of Gilnean Hounds something occurred to me. Do the foxes and hounds share spawns? I try to avoid wonton slaughter but decided to test the theory. Removed as many hounds as I could find in the Northgate Woods area. Then many more blue foxes started to spawn than I encountered yesterday. So I just keep ridding the area of all foxes and hounds. Within about 10-15 minutes the red and white Gilnean Fox spawned so I could tame it. Hopefully this helps.

I got 2 of this guy on a couple of my hunters. Quick note - if you want to tame one or two of these be sure you check your call beast slots to be sure you have room. I suggest visiting a stablemaster and making sure you have at least two open tame spots. Had a friend try and tame one and her pet slots were full and some horde player came in and killed it.

I did not have to kill the hounds, just all the gray foxes I saw. It took a couple times clearing them out them since a couple tended to respawn. I didn't see another gray then boom, a red spawned. I quickly tamed him. I was sitting there ready to rename him then boom another one spawned just about 30 seconds later closer to the edge of the cliff. So, I dismissed the tamed one and got a second.

I wanted to see if this was a fluke, about the second one spawning so fast after the taming of one. Logged into my boyfriends account and jumped on his hunter because I knew he wanted one of these and since he was on a business trip, I thought I would surprise him with taming one for him. Flew to the area, went through killing the gray foxes again, sure enough a red on spawned. Tamed him, then dismissed it and waited. Boom, right on queue 30 seconds later a second spawned. Tamed a second for him just in case he would like to have a pair of them.

Since this seemed easy to tame two in a row with minimal effort, I did it on two of my lowbie hunters as well.

I was able to tame this beautiful fox after getting to Gilneas, but I think it bugged out at first, because when I tried to tame, it wouldn't let me. When I aggro'ed a second mob onto me, only then did it let me tame it. Enjoy your pretty fox, all you hunters! :)

I tamed two of these and noticed that the area where I killed the most blue foxes is where the red one spawn.

My 1st tamed was near the coast as I had killed the most foxes in that area. As there were less near the coast I headed to the forest to kill the ones over on that end, the 2nd one spawned in the forest.

It was probably less than 15 minutes between the respawns.
