If you are doing the DM Tribute Run, you will need to skip over Slip'kik's encounter. Before heading out to DM, make sure you have a thorium widget (http://www.wowhead.com/?item=15994) and a frost oil (http://www.wowhead.com/?item=3829). When you approach Slip'kik (who will be pacing back and forth in front of a group of mobs), be sure to watch for the Eye that patrols. You can either kill the mobs across the way (pulling them far back, to avoid aggroing Slip'kik) or simply have a rogue or someone with a good sense of timing repair the broken trap with the Thorium Widget/Frost Oil. Once set, sit back and watch Slip'kik blunder into the trap and enjoy. Doing this will add Slip'kik's share of the loot in the Tribute Chest at the end. Don't forget to visit him on your way out (after being crowned "King" and receiving the "King" buff) -- he gives a very nice +3% spell crit buff that lasts 2 hours!

I wasn't able to kill him after setting the trap and catching him that way. He went green and stayed that way. Don't know if anyone else had this problem, but if you run DM to complete the dungeon, DON'T use the trap to catch/kill him!
If you want to do the quest, than simply set the trap after you've killed Slip'kik. If you talk to the npc afteryou've set the trap and than return to the trap, you'll get the completion of the quest.

If anyone else has encountered the problem of accidentally freezing this guy with the trap, just continue the dungeon and finish it all the way to the end, and when you kill the ogre king, it will allow you to go back to this guy (still frozen), but you will now be able to DPS him down and better yet he won't fight you back :) After downing him you do get the EXP from finishing the entire dungeon as well as EXP for the kill. Hope this helps someone!

Yes, if you trapped him accidently and now can't finish the dungeon, you need to go kill the final boss first. But if you speak to the little ogre and become the king, he still won't be killable. In this case you can teleport our & in, clear your king debuff, then proceed to kill him. I soloed him while my group watched, and it counted for them as well. Hope this helps.

Ahead of time ask your group not to touch the trap.
He was frozen and we tried the solutions listed here, but none of that worked for us. He remained in his ice cube and we wasted half an hour lol.

If players come back after becoming King of the Gordok, he will still be in the trap but you can talk to him. He'll say:

You got me good boss! How you get by Slip'kik? I smart though, I watch next time! Har har!

Nobody get by Slip'kik no more. Slip'kik promise!

Today I fell for the ol' Slip'kik trap business (again...), so piecing together the other comments here, I finished DM (leaving Slip'kik UNfinished), went back out of the dungeon entrance to drop/ cancel the "King" buff. Re-entered the dungeon, made my way back to Slip'kik (now back to red/ enemy status) and got the kill credit, as well as the shackle key to free the goblin Knot.
