Yay, Ghostcrawler again!
not wasting my life watching that. anyone got a transcript?
I think he was actually the responsible for removing the old talent trees and coming with the talent rows idea, with the excuse that people were not having choices and just going for coockie cutter builds. Then they took over a decade to understand that no matter what, people will always go for coockie cutter builds. And now they bring back talent trees, but in a chaotic and weird form instead of the old ones that were so nice.
Interesting insight. I don't know what relevance there is for wowhead, though
it was his idea to add talent rows and remove trees, no thanks for watching him talk for 1 hour 23 minutes.let his riot mmo get over hyped to the moon and watch what a gash grab it'll be like riots other games.
New trees to me:Class trees are a complete failure, for many classes they've essentially just removed baseline utility players have always had, and made you choose between them. As long as you remember to swap them for every single dungeon, that doesn't matter... but if you forget suddenly you might not have a dispel when it is needed.Spec trees are a lot better and more fun to play with, but you're kidding yourself if you think it is more than just 1-2 single target builds and 1-2 aoe builds. They're basically just about stacking a bunch of multipliers in the direction you want to play.
Since this article's discussion has been turned into revamped talent trees, here's my take on it!Doesn't matter how much "choices" now you have, as some argue this being the best thing about new system, as soon as they removed "baseline" and outright unique class and spec abilities from spellbook and shoved into this new system just so they can brag about having 30+ "points" in each tree, it's just a load of crap to me.Interrupts, Dispells, Purges etc.. literally had no place in these trees and they could've made it either just one large 30 points tree rather than two branches or maybe have 10 to 15 MAX points each side if they really had to go with two branches. They can adjust and realign those nodes and make them either switch places or have more/less number of ranks and connections all they want, at the end of the day it's still a big pile of crapload of fat mess.
Amazing Greg Ghostcrawler , the game was amazing back in his days !
I Thought its Günter Jauch
