I wasn't expecting too much. That changed towards the end since a lot of good questions were raised. Also, that was a lovely note about Alexstraza and Ysera. Shame it makes the latter's death in Legion worse, though.
One detail I would add to this article about questions raised is Neltharion eyes that change from blue to red during his protodragon sequence. Maybe just an artistic choice but I don't believe Dawn of the Aspect showed us that.I agree the cinematic is fairly simple, but is pretty clear about Nozdormu not showing the truth, understanding still, and preparing dracthyrs for war, again, after this stasis and being used as tools.
Shows a bunch of Dracthyr using poleaxes... yet Dracthyr can't wield polearms.
Two things: They don't show the aspects with their actual original colors as protodragons but, instead, their current colors. I suppose, to simplify and to make them more recognizable..Something else. If that tender moment between Nozdormu and Ysera is to mean something it's how the Murozond matter and the great sacrifice to get Ysera back to life are to be dealt with: Nozdormu will sacrifice himself for Ysera.Yes, that will kind of break a few time rules but what if Murozond is just an alternative timeline consequence, what if what he saw of the future was influenced by the Old Gods? Don't they see the future as well? Wouldn't they show him an alternative version of his future to make his actions more in line with their plans? We have many interesting events coming ahead. I am eager.
We assume the being in the video is Nozdormu. It could be Murozond. His identifying himself to Emberthal as Nozdormu could be a lie, or even his own persepctive on his identity. It could be that Muro wakes the dracthyr for some sinister reason, and later in the expansion they turn on him like death knights on Arthas.
Seems like you're potentially overthinking the appearance of Malygos in the animation. To me, it reads as a simple update to his design, and to the overall design of the "important" blue dragons as seen with updated Kalecgos. They'd want to keep that consistent with any media going forward, even if it directly depicts past events as with this short.
more story telling to fix the huge plot holes. pass. not to mention this isn't animated its a comic book.
Can't wait to see who was behind the Jailer.
