im actually looking forward to this, way more than MDI. gonna be lit seeing these specs perform, well done RIO.
While I love the focus on non-meta classes, I would prefer an event focusing on the perceived garbage tier classes. For example: Shadow Priest is not a meta spec, but also not a bad one. Its a middle ground. Meanwhile nobody would ever think about inviting an affliction warlock or feral in their group. You would never invite a rogue and think he's an assa rogue. I would love to see team combs that aren't only non-meta, but also hoped to never be encoutered in a run at all.
I agree with both comments above. I love to see them breaking the cycle of meta class stack and glory. A step further, it would be fun to see them highlight the lowest of low classes. I don’t have the direct answers as to how we break the “meta” stigma and mold in WoW, but it’s not the only game that follows this. It’s just in gaming everywhere. It’s along the lines of acceptance, trends, etc. the path less travelled doesn’t always lead to success unfortunately. But applaud the efforts to change this.
So I don’t follow any of this stuff and just play whatever spec I like but, holy crap, ALL of these specs are “off-meta” this is nuts! I don’t know how people can limit themselves to so few specs and still have fun playing this game, or any game for that matter.
"4. We reserve the right to disqualify any run for any reason."Well that seems just weird.I like the idea of off-'meta' though. All the balancing that they try and do is dumb. Just don't expect every class to be viable in PvP 1v1's. And just try and make classes fun, and if there is cross-over, make it across the board for the group (dps/heal/tank), that way each is perfectly viable for all content.
So, this is an event on how bliz failed at class balancing, interesting...
oh cool, even though havoc dh is dog tier trash dps in m+, because it buffs the meta specs and brings some cc it's considered meta.
already completing +15s and higher as ret and holy paladin...
I probably shouldn't feel this way because the only time I ran Mythic+ was when I still ran Survival. Oh, and this had nothing to do with rankings since I just now found them. I just wanted a different experience. Still, I find it funny to see BM Hunters included since I've been getting into PUGs lately, and I've had times where the all the DPS is that. That said, I'm really happy that Blizzard wants to give more specs a chance. While they are inherently apart of the problem, I've gotten the impression time and time again that people aren't playing something for long yet having strong opinions on it.
the toy you get is just from the great push and its just a banner? seems kinda odd to title it as "get a toy you cant get anymore" when 80% of people never got it b/c its just a banner from doing 2 15s on the tourny realm lol
am i lost as usual looks like you do this before you register? is dates correct
All of these can complete 20's easily. Heck most of these are perfectly viable untill 25's even. Bohoo my spec does 10% less aoe on 30 keys, Pointless bs with pointless comments.
There are no garbage specs. Atleast not from the damage output point of view because Shadow Priests can do alot of damage. Aff lock still, and I bet it will dominate the dps metters. Aff is "bad" compared to Demo and Destro but it brings and impressive amount of dps.Let me put it like this. Since you are judging how classes perform based on what the best players play and how well they perform with them, if you give them these non-meta classes they will still outperform 99.9% of us. By these consideration these specs will become meta among the rest of the community.Do you catch my drift, my friends? This being said. It will be nice to play Aff in 20s without having people leaving because of this event. Alternating between Destro and Demo has left a stale taste in my mouth after so much time. Also, I have to mention that I have met Arcane Mages, Retri Pala, Shadow Priests doing very high aoe and ST dps. I think I have met some BM Hunters, too. They are rare but in the 20s I am constantly doing they always do very high dps. Not as high as me when I let out the infernal but I could +2 and nearly +3 with them.
