I would still like to see then revert their change on binding shot. It is nice to have a root that doesn't break on damage. If they're insistent on balancing that, I'd instead like them to give hunters a raid buff. Every other class has an exclusive raid buff, so unless hunter damage is significantly higher, you'll see them sit at higher levels of content.
Precise Shots and Focused Aim should only be 1 point. Any thing that's mandatory and core to the spec already feels bad to put points into to get. Requiring 2 points is just insult to injury.
I feel like no other spec has to invest so many talents to reach their full cleave potential as MM. And if you choose to go full single target you are left with almost no cleave damage at all. BM is partly guilty of this aswell. If you go through other class talents you'll see almost none of them have to sacrifice as much ST dps to have consistent cleave damage. How come I have to spec into both Multi-shot AND Trick Shots for the full functionality? And how are these so far down into the tree while chimera (which is a very niche pick) is in the third row? I don't see Fire mages having to spend a single talent to make Ignite spreadable. Ele shamans or Outlaw Rogues get their basic AoE tool from the very start of the tree...Talents like Improved Steady Shot, Crack Shot, Killing Blow or True Aim make me very mad they are even talents in the first place. By the time you get to the fun side of the tree you are left with no points. Points you had to spend into passive, boring perks, or things that should be baseline.
The Marksman tree feels too overloaded. Just too many talents, you always have the feeling that you miss something that is useful. If you skill into full AE (left side of MM tree) you even have issues skiing Trueshot which feels hyperstrange.I also hate to see Double Tap again. This talent is so annoying. It is a boring button that we have to press every minute. This just should be a passive with like 45s CD.
Why did Azortharion change his name to TheAzortharion? If not for being written by Azortharion himelf, I wouldn't believe that we're going to be talenting into things like steel trap instead of dropping down into the passive dot damage on the right. Also taking Intimidation instead of Misdirect seems.... odd. We won't have a pet to cast it and summoning one in a niche scenario to get off a stun seems like a fever dream scenario that won't ever happen. But Azthorian is probably the best hunter in the community... so like... maybe this is some 5D Chess game he's playing to get stuff tuned. *hmmm*
Apologies if I'm wrong, but isn't the relative lack of good cleave kind of the point of Marksmanship Hunter flavor? That we're a sniper spec with a lot of burst and a quick, agile damage rotation, but in exchange we're pretty squishy and can't deal with groups super well? And I'm far from an expert on how MM is 'supposed' to be played, but isn't this: https://www.wowhead.com/beta/talent-calc/hunter/marksmanship/DANAJGVZUAogoCAWBVMVkIIWURSRWQIBQ a better spread of talents for general damage/usefulness? This is with the idea of keeping a pet out for their ability (i.e. bloodlust) and a bit of passive damage on top of being a sacrificial tank, while not focusing in on it for actual output. On the main class side, I've opted out of Sentinel for one simple reason: assuming it works like the Kyrian Resonating Arrow, then it's next to useless since you still have to be facing your target, the duration is too short, aggro and any pet nonsense will still cause them to move into Line of Sight, and any damage dealt is paltry compared to the added complexity of another keybind. I guess it's good for stuff like the Jailer fight and maybe certain Mythic+ scenarios, but barely passable. With those extra points you can keep Tranq shot, and the Binding/Scatter Shot can be traded back and forth for the second point of Rejuvenating Wind depending on what you need. Barrage is there because it's near and dear to my heart, take Explosive Shot if you wish.I know this example tree in the article is one designed to maximize single target DPS, but this build doesn't sacrifice much in terms of single target, while maintaining a good chunk of cleave and plenty of DoTs to ensure lots of damage is being done.
I don't understand why they cannot simply bring the Legion style hunter, that is when it was somewhat more interesting, now you just have few buttons to press and nothing interesting is happening.
the fact they moved lone wolf to main column to not being skippable is clownery
"And if you choose to go full single target you are left with almost no cleave damage at all. "Thats the life of affliction for years
