to be honest i love that system, its simple but very effective :)
The new crafting system feels like the old crafting system, but with (a lot of) extra pointless steps. It looks to be a giant chore to me instead of something unique.I don't feel like it really brings anything unique to the game. To me it feels like I simply won't be doing any crafting whatsoever anymore, because of all the useless stuff you have to do. Such as farming/buying normal mats, farming/buying optional mats, getting the correct crafting stats, quality ranks, boring looking 'talent' trees, locking yourself out of recipes due to specialisations, etc. Nothing about that makes me even a little bit motivated to craft.
what ilvl gear can you craft compared to mythic raid drops?
please please please bring back Weaponsmithing. It is such a glaring missing part of WoW right now. Aquiring weapons is such a bad, rng process. So many of us get so tired of it.
And it's all still BoP?So I level all of this up just to craft myself pieces, while I could just go do M+ and spend some valor on upgrades. It makes me sad that all we can craft nowadays is high BoP gear and leveling/very early BoE gear. 9.2 craft gear is like 233ilvl and you are limited to one single 262 piece. just let me specialize in something and go on my own journey to search for some super rare mats to make a piece and go drop it on the AH.I'm hoping the new work order system sort of addresses this, but even then buyers are setting the price, so seeing how some servers go, they'll just set the commission at pretty much cost price, which doesn't seem like much point in the crafter accepting.
I like this idea but the one complaint I have is with the repair items, who in the world is going to only repair ONE item of your gear at a time?Sure it might save 1-2g but the inconvenience of finding the item in your bags, clicking on it, clicking on the right item to repair. No chance that gets used.
And it's all still BoP?So I level all of this up just to craft myself pieces, while I could just go do M+ and spend some valor on upgrades.yes the idea of this is to allow you make stuff for other people. But yes they set the commission, however with multiple offers you just choose the highest one. However if the community just agrees to only offer the lowest price possible then they have essentially set the market rate at "not worth the time to make for someone"The only place I really see this benefit is 1. Making stuff for your guild2. Making BOP gear for your alts. I have wanted that for a while, I farm up some mats on my main who is not a crafter, and issue work order to myself to make it. I love that ideaOtherwise there is a very low ceiling for this as far as making goldNow if they had a minimum commission price it might work, but I dont know what you would base that off
Looks like you can hyper-specialize in crafting one specific slot, or instead decide to be a bit more of a generalist, good at everything but not the best.
Quote from original post about crafting specs:
New crafting system looks nice, but its timegating stuff reminds me of the horrors of tbc primals crafting.
I dont think you should be able to learn everything
