I mean...anybody could tell that it wasn't launched in a good state. It's better now but it's been about a year of bugfixes and patches to get it here. Still neds work. Blizzard is imploding and this week is just the preface.
Not even a little surprised. I knew from the start the "old-school fans complained about the changes so we changed our plans" was just an excuse to shift the blame.

So basicly activision screwed the blizzard team on warcraft 3 reforged all because of money. seriously screw activision everything they have tounched has gone to crap because of there greed Blizzard should seriously consider splitting from activision entirely.
People were against "updating lore" because it would have come during early BfA, and there were fears that they would rewrite Garithos as sympathetic and make the Horde more villainous.Actually, I suppose modern Blizzard still aren't trusted with their own lore (*cough* Sylvanas), so... I guess I'm still against them updating the lore. I'd rather keep the Pandora's box closed because I can't truly believe what they would change would make the story better, only worse.
I'm old enough to remember Blizzards shipping dates were "When It's Done". It was pretty much a joke in the gaming magazines that once you got a release date from Blizzard, the game was more than ready for prime time. I think this, and to a lesser degree Shadowlands, shows that clearly isn't the case anymore. Games get released when they're needed to pop investors, not when they're ready.
In discussions today, the idea floated that eventually Activision will sell off Blizzard games to other smaller companies. Similar to how Sony Online eventually sold Everquest to Daybreak, because while profitable it was not the profits they wanted.The next question was naturally, “Would that be a better situation for many of these games?” To varying levels of agreement, the consensus was that it would be better if WC3 and WoW moved on to companies like Dreamworks or Daybreak, etc. Simply put, the types of games “Vanilla Blizzard” makes are not what ActiBlizz even understand.I hope someday this split occurs and the next company reboots a lot of it.

It is crazy that the team never had a clear idea if they were remaking or re releasing the game. Similar to Anthem if a game starts full development without determining a direction to go you have hundreds of employees aimlessly developing features, content and systems that might just be tossed aside in a weeks time. No project comes together with how creative vision and direction.These are armature mistakes Blizzard is making which is indicative if armature leadership who really don't have a clue how to lead.
I got Reforged at launch and love it. It's the original with better visuals. I always played pirated versions of the original and was overdue for a purchase. Blizzard fans suck. They always complain.. and they're so dramatic when things aren't done exactly the way they want. I've been playing WoW since 2007. Early expansions aren't usually that good. All the Shadowlands hate but, you know, the game goes on. It will improve with each patch like all expansions before it. Not every patch of the game is gold but, if you wait, the next one might be. Try patience, old grumpy men of Warcraft fandom. The company UPDATES their games. They developed Shadowlands during a global pandemic. The lore isn't for me but next expansion it'll be like Shadowlands never happened. BFA was the best expansion since WOTLK imo and we just had it so there's a lot of promise still. Nothing has changed that wasn't already ruined by the time Cata launched something like 10 years ago.
I was told Activision doesn't influence Blizzard decisions in any way, shape, or form.
You guys are acting like Bloomberg was never accused of being "yellow". I mean seriously, just because Activision is bad doesn't mean bloomberg is saint either. They have targeted blizzard for a while, probably wanted to kick out them from Cali. I know a lot of companies faced such treatments from local bureaucrats and news media like Bloomberg serves their purpose nicely.
