We’ve also made some adjustments following the responses, and we are happy to share them with wowhead readers and the WoW community:

Revised Roadmap Timeline

We heard your feedback and updated the release to October 20th.
That means we’re releasing earlier and you will have a week to download and update your addons on the new client ahead of the much expected Shadowlands release.
Additionally, the Twitch client will continue to support addons until November 17th.

Supporting Authors

70% of ad revenue and subscriptions will go to Authors. The CurseForge monetization model of subscriptions and ad-revenue helps creators develop and maintain their projects. Downloading addons from the CurseForge repository (website or client) means you are supporting authors for their work and helping the community grow.
Downloading them from unauthorized distributors without creators’ consent, means that you’re not.

The part about monetizing addon creators... dunno if we all using Wowup would prevent them for getting their earned stuff. There has to be a balance nowadays on ads, most of us do understand the needs, but to overwelm people with them though... Put them in one place of pages, apps, and etc, not right up in front of stuff people use, as some pop ups inside pages right in front of login areas or what not, the like. Ads don't need to be 'invasive' to be useful.Comment by FutureMarie95Overwolf kept getting flagged by my antivirus. Some Google-Fu later I learned it's for wanting access to files on my computer, files that an AddOn Manager should have absolutely no reason for wanting access to.

Many Addon Managers have been cropping up in the last 2 weeks, and Overwolf has been pretty much silent since the news that Twitch wasn't managing came out months ago. Competition got ahead of the game, and frankly they should've been up and running since PTR went up. They are now coming with a Oct. 20 release when pre-patch will be live on the 13th? That is Microsoft Edge speed dude.

Adding their tarnished and yet unrecoverable reputation with their past invasive, malware ridden practices... well it kind of doesn't matter if they have a better product at this point.

Im sorry to say this is a DOA platform now.

And they STILL haven't addressed their controversial reputation in any communication I have seen. Denial is not a great marketing or PR strategy.
