This seems like a good change, hopefully this keeps loot impactful and prevents the tendency for people to prioritize secondaries over ilvl, but I really don't understand the math well enough to know definitively if this will help or not. Still, interesting.
While it does alleviate issues tied with stat scaling it does create another layer of complexity when it comes to gearing, which is very likely to once again toss the whole “if it’s higher ilvl it’s likely to be better” idea in the bin.
Looks like they ready to introduce another corruption-like system to amp up stats :o
These kind of things make using sims even more mandatory.
How do they manage to disappoint us literally every week? It's actually bewildering.
Nooooooooo! My 200% vers meme dream is now dead forever. :(
In the absence of content we have to make our own fun and I feel like this is a step away from that. Unless they start providing more regular content updates and reduce the droughts we experience by a large margin this is gonna suck.Towards the end of expansion I view it like the last couple of weeks of the school year. We all get it, the end is coming soon and it’s all just screwing around and having fun. I really like how now we can push some insane stats and have some fun.
This is really going to hurt classes that really need to stack a lot of one stat to be viable, such as Demo Locks with haste.
I see literally no benefits to this whatsoever and only downsides to specs that already scale poorly... stop adding secondary systems that nobody wants. Nobody likes the gcd changes even at 5k haste it still sucksblizzard was wrong yet they refuse to admit it and backtrack, nobody wants target caps fury warrior feels terrible on big pulls and big pulls are fun i've seen bosses with more than 5 ads already for the new raid... Nobody wants to get punished for swapping covenants or playing different aspects of the game and yet here we are... Fix the bugs, balance the specs, and improve on the current shadowlands gameplay stop giving us this dirt.
Can't wait for the people who will deny trading other ppl loot b/c they might need it later on to avoid hitting a percentage penalty down the road. Also can't wait to have bags full of different stat items for the same slot. I just want to play my game the way I want. I feel like this is aimed at fire mages and destro lock and we all suffer b/c of it. It feels bad.
It doesn't sound bad, but since it applies to haste, it will probably make classes play slower at the and of an expansion than live. Paired with the GCD, this will make certain classes probably be fairly slower at their "peak", for example Arms warrior. I don't personally mind, since Arms is supposed to be a slow heavy hitter which is the fantasy their reimplementing again. But a Ret. Paladin below 25 % haste? That's going to be boring and hard to play competetively.
I feel like we are back in a spot like in MoP where simming stat weights is soo much more important...except without the annoyance of balancing it around hit cap.

Depends on how early we get affected by such calculations if at all or if it is only there to deal with future corruption like systems.Kinda a blow to stat customization, reminds me of swtor where I would like to stack crit to get huge crit damage rating but it isnt worth doing past 70% since the DR is too much so you are losing too much by stacking more crit only to get a tiny % of crit damage. Not like we had full control of our stats to stack one like crazy, gear has 2 secondaries for a reason.
Looks good to me. The powercurve from start to end in the newer expansion has been way too steep.
This nerfs limitless stat stacking caused by effects like Flames of Alacrity ( enhanced pyro technics gives haste)I’m sure there’s some conduit/legendary/anima effects similar in function, a stacking stat rating buff that can reach very high somehow
