I need it.
Whats a server blade?
While really cool, I won't bother. My charity server blade came smashed pretty badly and I spent months trying to return it. I have no faith these will fare any better.
Hope the Chinese blades end up in their new homes in better conditions than the last wave of North American server blades did. Also, the Chinese packaging looks much cooler on these. And the coin is a nice little addition as well!
What's the point of releasing them to China Only when there are fans around the world who would love to have one of these.... Is china that much more important than the rest of the WOW fans all over the world that play this game every day?
do some digging and find out stuff about the US Gov using our game to message each other on our messaging platform. they used a secure server in a not secure location, to do business... i guess that they made toons too? just wish i had the intel on what server / guild would be interesting... too... if any..
Damn, this really puts the ones we got in the rest of the world to shame. Especially considering they were packaged like crap and many, myself included, received broken acrylic cases.
I’m surprised they would still even have blades from that long ago around. Definitely a piece of history, so that’s cool. That translates to like 700 USD, though, so that requires a bit of financial commitment.Of course I have a hunch at least a few will end up on eBay for some extortionate price gouging, which is a shame.
A "blade" server is a narrow server that would fit into a 4-5 unit high server case with other blades in the rack. Typically you can get 8+ blade servers in the same space as say 2 "normal" servers. This allows a 42-unit high rack to go from hosting 20 normal servers to hosting 36+ blades servers. All this is dependent on configuration, rack height, other equipment, etc., but I think you get the gist. Rack space is a premium in data centers, so it's a cost saver. Also when you have a failure, they are easier to remove/replace than a "normal" server.
My mind is completely boggled!
I want one :< sell 'em here in the USA too!
Wow, those cases are a lot nicer than the 15th anniversary charity ones (I am *still* waiting for my replacement case too since mine arrived broken back in December).
