Player: You seem to have embraced the Horde.

Lilian Voss: It seems my skills drew the attention of the powers that be. My services were... "requested."
Did you catch the hidden meaning there? Sorry. Despite my profession, I'm not the best at subtlety.
Regardless, I know how to recognize an opportunity when I see one.

Player: What sort of opportunity?

Lilian Voss: It doesn't take a prophet to see that Sylvanas will use this war as a means of bringing more Forsaken into the world.
My own conversation was... difficult. I had a lot to work through. Many scores to settle.
I haven't let go of all that. But I also feel an obligation to help the newly risen adapt to their situation. Perhaps I can spare them the sort of pain I endured.

Player: And what of the Alliance?

Lilian Voss: In life, I was raised to hate the undead. Trained to destroy them.
When I became Forsaken, I hated myself most of all.
But now I see it is the Alliance that fosters this malice. The human kingdoms shun their former brothers and sisters because we remind them what's lurking beneath the facade of flesh.
It's time to end their cycle of hatred. The Alliance deserves to fall.

Goblin Sapper: Do ya see the Kul Tirans yet?
Fogsail Pirate: Yes! That's the flagsh-- wait, nope... that's just a spot on the glass

Chief Telemancer Oculeth: Anar-ammenos, <player>. I'll have this portal Nathanos requested for you set up in a few moments.

Lilian Voss: Come in, <player>. Nathanos will catch you up to speed.

Nathanos Blightcaller: Our mission here is to retrieve the Abyssal Scepter, located deep inside the Stormsong Monastery in Boralus.

Thomas Zelling: The Scepter is an artifact of immense power over the sea. We will be able to use it to gain quite the advantage over the Kul Tiran fleet.

Captain Amalia Stone: How are you going to sneak in? You cannot exactly just waltz into Boralus...

Nathanos Blightcaller: I sent Valentine into Boralus to get a message to Lady Proudmoore, at any cost: We have your son.

Nathanos Blightcaller: Any time now, Proudmoore's elite forces should arrive here in an attempt to retrieve Derek's body.

Nathanos Blightcaller: Once the strongest of the guard has been drawn out, our friend Oculeth will open a portal for <player> and Zelling to go through and retrieve the scepter.

Captain Owings: Nathanos, I told you your Horde could make base in my harbor. I did not give you permission to lead the Proudmoore fleet to my very door.

Nathanos Blightcaller: We will pay you plenty for your trouble.

Captain Owings: Hmph.

The Siren's Daughter, The Valorous RosePortal into Boralus

Nathanos Blightcaller: Zelling, acommpany <player> to Boralus, Oculeth awaits with a portal.

Thomas Zelling: As you wish, Nathanos.

Lilian Voss: Remember, you will arrive deep in Boralus. Be on high alert.

Chief Telemancer Oculeth: Calculating the correct location to place this portal in Boralus was not easy, but it was a welcome challenge! Do tell me how it goes, will you?

<Player and Zelling takes portal>

Thomas Zelling: Be on your toes, <player>. This is no ordinary basement -- we are quite deep in Boralus.

Talking with Zelling

Player: How has your transition been, Zelling?

Thomas Zelling: I'm not sure if... I still haven't...
This isn't easy, <player>.
Miss Voss advised me to focus on the task at hand. She says proving my worth to the Blightcaller is the best way to keep my family safe.
My family...

Player: They are still in your thoughts.

Thomas Zelling: They are EVERYTHING to me!
I... I realize they don't want me in their lives anymore. But that change!
Once they realize it's me, that I still love them, I know they will... they will...
I... I...

Player: Focus, Brother Zelling!

Thomas Zelling: Yes, focus. Task at hand. Please the Blightcaller. Keep them safe.

Thomas Zelling: We have successfully retrieved the Abyssal Scepter, Nathanos.

Nathanos Blightcaller: Ah, good. Not only will this be a boon for the Zandalari armada... but also a detriment to that of the Kul Tirans.

Captain Amalia Stone: Lady Proudmoore's forces are relentless, Nathanos. We should get out of here as soon as possible.

Lilian Voss: I fear it is slightly too late for that, Amalia. We have a new visitor.

Lilian Voss: I am getting restless. Allow me to provide my aid from the shadows.

Nathanos Blightcaller: Let us see who Proudmoore has sent now.

<Nathanos and player walk outside>

General Cadarin yells: Show us your face, Horde scum! We have a friend of yours.

<General Cadarin is choking Forsaken Marshal M. Valentine>

General Cadarin: Return Derek Proudmoore to my hands, and you shall have your man back.

Nathanos Blightcaller: Ah, my good man. That is a tactic that I could see working on somebody other than myself...

Nathanos Blightcaller: But frankly, you can do what you want with Valentine. He means nothing to us.

General Cadarin: So be it, corpse. I will recover Derek's body over your dead one.

<General Cadarin kills Marshal M. Valentine>

Nathanos Blightcaller: Take care of this nuisance, <player>.

I don't really care that much but it's little weird to see them change it after all these years.Comment by RankkorSo the horde version ends with a whole fleet razed. The alliance version ends with a single ship razed.

Based on most of what i've seen so far, i feel like i'm fighting for the forsaken and not the Horde. Within the screenshots provided in the article it looks like 1 or 3 ships burn which doesn't really seem like a fleet but the semantics of it make it seem more extreme.

I'm only asking because in part 5 of the Alliance campaign already 1 Zandalari ship is destroyed, I don't know what happens within their final stage but I reckon since players of both factions went to Zuldazar/Kul-Tiras with the sole intention of acquiring a navy to overpower the opposite faction the alliance will be as equally successfull in this mission as the Horde has been which will be slightly anticlimactic.

Although I must say the latest revision of Lilians character has made her much more sympathetic then before, I do hope for when the Mag'har arrive they will have as much development as the Forsaken have currently received so far in the expansion within their role in the Horde.Comment by NathasilI'm especially amused by Voss + Zelling. I cannot allow that sentiment, that hope, to grow. It is an infection, ready to spread. Nathanos acting even more like a supervillain, check.
The player being a mindless goon of the Forsaken with witless dialogue, check.
Lillians character assassination continuing without pause, check.

And just someone tell me... when has Lillian ever dealt with the Alliance to know that they "hate" the Forsaken.
Let's not even get into Before the Storm. Let's pretend the books don't exist and focus on the game. Do the writers not even remember Lillian was raised and trained by the Scarlet Crusade who have nothing to do with the Alliance?
Because she's sure making it sound like the Alliance is responsible for what she was. Nathanos does this too.
I'm beginning to suspect the Horde writing team has zero knowledge of lore events pre-Legion (see also Saint Grom the Not-Tyrant) and simply figures Scarlets = human and Alliance = human therefore Scarlets = Alliance.

Well that or they're just so desperate for MORALLY GREY WORLD OF GREY OMG EVIL IS A MATTER OF PERSPECTIVE that they're just making crap up deliberately to make the ~~Forsaken~~ Horde have a grievance with the Alliance.

Edit: Oh one other thing. The Alliance has Death Knights. This absurd argument of undead racism is automatically defeated by that alone. Any prejudice DKs suffered at the hands of the Alliance was also done equally by the Horde.

I mean really it shouldn't surprise me that they're mischaracterising Lillian and her backstory since, well, they're mischaracterising every single character in the Horde to serve their stupid narrative.
Yes, even Saurfang. The actual Saurfang would challenge Sylvanas to mak'gora and cleave her in two, not run away and give up. Yes, even Sylvanas. Even thr Sylvanas of Cataclysm wasn't this deranged and utterly insane in her actions.

My deepest respects stemmed from it's founding days - when they broke the fingers on the hand crushing them into submission and forced them to fall back with heavy losses. When they reclaimed the lands many of them fought and died on while combating the vultures seeking only to sweep the bones under the rug. When they challenged a world that challenged them ceaselessly and discriminately for rights as simple as existence.

They were perhaps the most legendary freedom fighters in the entire game.

But what comes after -this-? The plot is rapidly unraveling and shredding away any shape or form of inspiration and integrity they could have wielded, leaving nothing but marred and ruined rhetoric. I understand this sort of undeath will bitter your spirits and dim your hope, but it's pitiful little more than Lilian Voss has any sort of silver lining.

Roberick Dartfall, featured in Lands of Conflict (circa 2004), could have been an INSTRUMENTAL symbol to the Forsaken, would the developers even confirm his existence beyond a decade-and-a-half old novel (on the other hand, who could have anticipated Nathanos Blightcaller's return?). He encompassed much of their best and truest qualities, warmly welcomed and defended outsiders, and not only believed in the Forsaken's good will but put his money where his mouth was and LED such a following himself.

... Or who knows? War is complicated, sacrifice is complicated, the needs of a few vs the needs of many is complicated.

People are just so fast to zurg and point at the forsaken and criticize any development they have, it’s honestly shocking.

There is clearly a story to be told here, there is clearly a plot developing, and there is clearly a world of complicated decisions to obtain complicated means of advancement.

Thank goodness most of you aren’t in politics or any positions of power, - because I see TONS of black and white statements without context, and statements being made by people who are just taking everything at face value. Yiiiiikes.
